Author's Notes: Alright, the "Thirty Kisses" part of the title might be a little confusing, so I'll explain. This was actually written for a community in which you claim a couple from any series, then you must write or draw thirty things involving that couple, a kiss, and one of the thirty themes. It doesn't have to be an actual kiss, it can be metaphorical, or just mentioned, stuff like that. I thought about posting each of the ones that I wrote as chapters in one fic, but I decided not to after considering that each of them would have different ratings and genres. So, you should be seeing more fics with "Thirty Kisses:" in the title. Think of it as a series, although most of them will probably short, little, unrelated ficlets. ;

The theme for this one is "Red" this one is also a sort of "What if" It takes place in the Lake Dragon Episode of Slayers... The what if is, "What if Amelia had been the one to give him CPR?"

Disclaimer: I don't own Slayers. Slayers is owned by Hajime Kanzaka, Rui Araizumi and some other people. No harm is intended.

Zelgadis felt himself pulled out of the water and onto the boat. On the edge of his consciousness he could hear people talking… but he couldn't seem to get himself to wake up.

"So, is Zelgadis alright?"

"Oh, don't worry about him. He's just a little waterlogged."

"But he went through so much! Should we really just leave him alone?"

Zelgadis felt his eyelid twitch as he started to become more aware of what they were saying. They were talking about him, but he still couldn't seem to get himself to wake up.

"No, I suppose we shouldn't do that."

"Maybe we could give him artificial respiration."

Okay, now that woke him up. He was aware enough to tell that Amelia was the one that suggested that. But now that he actually was awake he wished that he wasn't. If he had just stayed unconscious then…. Then what? He felt a little shocked at his own thoughts. Was he actually considering pretending to be unconscious to get an almost-kiss from Amelia? What would she think if she knew? She'd probably rant about the injustice of taking advantage of such a situation, but as he debated with himself, they continued to talk.

"Hmm… Oh, I suppose so."

"Right, we have no choice. Well, then…." he heard Amelia say.

Zelgadis felt his cheeks getting warm. Well, that was a dead give away that he was awake, right? Surely she would notice that he was awake and wouldn't go through with it, right? Apparently she hadn't because he could feel a shadow looming over him. He shouldn't be doing this…. And then it happened. He had spent so much time debating with himself that Amelia had already gone through with it.

It wasn't really like a kiss… For one thing, she was pinching his nose and alternating between blowing air into his mouth and pumping on his chest, but all the same Zelgadis felt himself growing light-headed. Well, there wasn't anything he could do about it now, was there? He had to pretend to be unconscious a little longer to make it believable. But this wasn't bad… not bad at all. That was when things started to go wrong. He started feeling a little too light-headed. He felt his cheeks growing more and more red and then… he blacked out.

He had blushed so hard he fainted.

Around that time Amelia finished her CPR and looked to see if Zelgadis showed any signs of waking up. To her horror, Zelgadis somehow looked even less conscious than he did before, and his face was flushed way more than should have been healthy. She looked absolutely distraught. Had he…. Had he…..?

"Lina-san, I think I killed him!"
