Completely Unchordinated - Part I
Sarah slowly walked into Zarkie's and took her usual seat at a stool and got out her guitar. From what she could see, no one was around, but she knew Steve must be somewhere. She started to slowly play some bar chords, and she heard a familiar voice and felt not so familiar arms come from behind her in a hug.
"Hey, baby. How are you?" he said. Somehow his voice sounded different, but Sarah couldn't point out why.
"Hey…I'm good. What's up?" To her surprise, he was still grasping tightly across her shoulder and waist. She could feel his hand on her stomach. Her body tensed up slightly, but she fought to stay loose.
"Nothing
really…mm, your hair smells good girl."
"Thanks."
His
arms came tighter and he moved his head down and rested his chin on
her shoulder. His nose slightly nuzzled into her neck and she could
feel his warm breath on her collar bone. She turned her head to face
him, and his arms did not move from her waist. For once, he was
finally allowing her to drown in his blue eyes. Before she knew it,
she caught herself putting her arms around his neck. He whispered,
"Are you scared?" She paused. She was terrified. He was too
good, but she couldn't' let a dream come true pass her by. She
finally shook her head and whispered, "No…'course
not."
"That's my girl."
He rose from his position, but grasped her hand in his. He spoke again.
"I'm gonna close up early. I'll do the drawer later…let's go in the back room."
He locked the door and dimmed the lights. He led her to one of the lesson rooms and turned on the lights. "It's way too bright in here," he said squinting, "Is behind the counter fine?"
She nodded. Her body grew even more tense. What was he all wanting to do? She had always wanted him, but it was simply a fantasy…all for fun. He was so serious and she'd never seen this side of him. He seemed so afraid, and she knew what of - getting caught.
He sat down with her, their backs against the wall. They were silent for only a moment, and then Steve broke it. "Sarah…you can't tell anyone. I know you like to tell your friends a lot of things - but you can't even tell them…" his voice trailed off and he went again, "I really do love you. I know whenever I said it, it sounded like I was just messing around. But, I really do."
She couldn't believe it, he was serious.
"I…I love you, too." She finally looked at him in the eyes again. He gave her a shy, but pleased half-smile. She found herself directly across from him, his legs separated while he sat and she kneeled in-between them, gazing into his eyes. He grasped around her waist with his arms, bringing her in closer to his chest. Her arms went around his torso and she buried her face into his chest, enjoying his presence so close to her. She could hear his heart beat. She knew it was beating quite faster than any normal rate - but somehow it seemed slow to her, too…at least compared to her heart beat. He lifted her chin with his hand and he looked into her eyes only a moment before he leaned in slowly to her lips. She was so caught up in the thought of kissing him, that he didn't even realize his warm palm going slightly up her back under her shirt. The kissing had gotten intense, and his mouth began to nibble at her neck as his hand made it up to unclasp her bra. The impulse hit her and she pulled his hand away from her back. However, it didn't seem to phase him and he continued to kiss her passionately. He dipped her onto the ground as he laid himself on top of her and pulled his mouth away and stared into her eyes. "I love you," she whispered and she pulled his head forward with her hand to kiss him. Her eyes closed as did his, and they slowly kissed as their surrounding world of guitars seemed to no longer be an nonexistent boundary.
