Hello. Sorry I haven't updated sooner but I've been busy with High School. We have five huge projects in different classes, in orchestra we're doing solos and to add to that, I'm the one elected to train our monster of a puppy.
Sonya-White-Angel: Glad you like it
Malaya: There is a bad guy… but that'll come up in a while. And for the twins… I can't tell you otherwise it would be a huge spoiler for later.
Karaoke and Meeting Someone New Part 2
"Wait…. did she say kitsune? Man, I let my guard down." Sakaki mumbled as she left the dance floor to get a drink (Man, EVERY one wants a drink!). She sat down right next to Kurama,
"Who was that and what were you doing out there with a kitsune?" he growled, his eyes slightly turning amber to green, etc. She turned to him innocently,
"What? Can't a girl just have some fun?" (A/N: sorry, but that reminds me of that song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" Back to the fic!)
"What were you doing talking to a kitsune? A red one no less." He growled once more.
"Hey, calm down!" she replied waving her hands in front of her face, "Besides, I'm going home. See ya!" and then she ran out the door.
"Kurama, calm down." Botan and Shiziru said at the same time, "She's just being a teen, let her have a little fun." He turned his head slowly, showing his half amber eyes,
"You do know that tomorrow night is the sickle moon, right?" he growled. The girls took a cautious step back. Botan slowly nodded,
"And we'll need to get you to Makai or Reikai tomorrow afternoon right after school."
"Yeah, we don't want Youko to wander around Ningenkai, do we?" Yusuke butted in. The whole group was tired of dancing, the pounding music, and the flashy bright lights.
With Sakaki
'Man, what's his problem?' she thought to herself as she opened a portal to Makai then stepped through. The portal left her at a beautiful place, a hill covered in flowers and trees with a dojo-like building on the top. She walked inside and changed into a plain light green hakama. Sakaki took off the necklace and placed it in a small jewelry box, which she stole when she was still little. Her true form took place of the human one as she stepped outside, plants leaning towards her. The kitsune smiled and gave each plant some of her Reiki and continued walking towards the dark forest.
Meanwhile…
"Let's see… Ah, something new to call prey…" a male voice spoke gruffly, a chuckle dripping from his lips. In the globe from which he looked was a girl with silver hair. Crimson eyes let glints fade as the darkness of the room overtook him, letting the hazy figure disappear from sight.
The next day
"Alright class, there is a new student here and I want you to treat her kindly." The teacher, Ms. Hayashi stated with her usual kind smile. Turning her head to the slightly cracked door and spoke softly, "You can come in now." A shadow was seen through the door as it opened slowly and in walked an auburn-haired girl in a high ponytail with blue-green eyes standing out. "Class, this is Sakaki. She has come to stay with us for a while."
"It's nice to meet you." She stated kindly, something she did not want to do. Looking around the room, she couldn't help but smile when she spotted Kurama near the front a few seats away from Keiko with an empty seat next to her.
"Could you please sit next to Ms. Yukimura, there? She'll be the one to show you around the school this week." With a nod of her head, Sakaki swiftly glided to her newly found seat.
"Long time no see." Keiko whispered with a delighted smile on her face.
"Yeah, well, I needed something to do. Might as well find out what this thing you call school is about. What's there to learn when you already know most of it?" Sakaki replied and was given a shrug from her friend. And from there, the class began.
Dong… Dong… Dong
The bell rang.
"Finally." The redhead sighed and stood up, automatically being bombarded by a bunch of girls.
"You better stay from our Suuichi. You got that?" one of them, a blonde (obviously dyed) stated, making a threat. Sakaki looked at them, confused for a moment, then remembered that Suuichi was Kurama's human name, something that Botan had told her the day before.
"Him? Why would I be interested in someone like him?" she asked flatly, wanting the girls to squirm when they found out she was Suuichi's 'cousin'.
"HOW COULD YOU NOT BE INTERESTED?" they all screeched in unison, causing Sakaki to cover her ears and wince in pain. Looking at them again, she couldn't help but grin when she saw the said person approached.
"Is everything alright over here, Sakaki?" Suuichi asked, causing the girls to literally freak out. One of them looked at Suuichi and, with puppy eyes, asked,
"How could you talk to her and not us? You don't even know her…" At this, Suuichi looked plain confused and looked at Sakaki for help when she mouthed the word 'cousin' to him and he nodded very slightly in response.
"Know her? She's my cousin." With that said, Sakaki hung her bag over her shoulder and linked arms with her 'cousin' before leaving the room with absolutely distraught and confused looks at what had just happened.
"Thanks for that." Sakaki said as they passed through the halls. She hated that she had P.E. with the entire group of this Kurama's friends.
"What? Saving you from them? Believe me… the A class demons in Makai are kittens compared to them."
"But you have to deal with them every single day? What's it like having your own personal fan club?" Sakaki retorted with a laugh.
"I wouldn't look behind you then." Kurama said in the same fashion with his index finger slightly pointing behind them, causing her to look back and see a parade of guys following them. Sakaki sweat-dropped and grabbed onto her 'cousins' shirt, dragging him as she ran down the halls away from the band of guys.
"This is what I get for that spell…." She said softly, mainly to herself though Kurama could hear it.
"And now you know how I feel. Let's get to class before the bell rings." He stated, gaining a nod in reply as they walked to the gym. Each parted to the different locker rooms but met back up when the class all sat in a semi-circle to listen to the teacher.
"Now. Since we are doing track and field this quarter, I want you all to try the high jump and the vault before doing the long jump." The teacher, Mr. Kitai stated. "Are there any volunteers for the high jump?" Two hands rose, Sakaki and another guy, who she found out was the most athletic in the entire school. "Alright then. Sakaki and Haru, follow me." The two nodded in unison and briefly glared at each other before following the teacher to the high jump. There were two sets up so they could compete against each other. "Now, this is just for a little fun, but whoever doesn't hit the bar will win extra credit points." Sakaki grinned… this was one thing she liked doing. They made a polite bow to each other before gong to the sides of the giant mattresses with the bar in front and ran to it, jumping over with ease and landing gently on their backs. Sakaki's hair was in a ponytail thankfully. Otherwise her hair would sprawl everywhere and annoy her.
"Do you want me to go easy on you since you're a girl." Haru asked, obviously over-confident.
"Why would you want to?" Sakaki replied, sticking out her tongue, "It'll be more fun for me to see you be beaten by a girl trying your hardest." Haru glared at her and jogged back to the starting point, as did Sakaki. The bars were raised till they wouldn't go any higher and as they jumped –oddly at the same time –the bar fell… on Haru's. Everyone in the class started laughing, including the teacher, much to Sakaki's content.
During Lunch"Did you have to beat him in everything you did?" Keiko asked Sakaki before biting into her sandwich.
"He was asking for it." she replied.
"Yeah, but did you have to destroy his ego while you were at it?" Yusuke added. He, of all people should know about guy's egos. Sakaki shrugged simply while taking a bite out of an apple.
"It was fun." She stated and saw the pair sweatdrop.
"Can we please eat lunch with you, Suuichi?" a group of about ten girls begged, each holding a different part of his shirt.
"Ummm…" he couldn't seem to make a reply.
"Does that always happen to him?" Sakaki asked Keiko, pointing with her thumb to Suuichi. Getting a nod for a reply, she stood up and walked over to the girls. "Oi. Don't you have something better to do than bother him? It's not like there's anything good about him anyway." The girls growled at her and stormed off.
"Thanks?" Suuichi asked/stated. Sakaki rolled her eyes.
"Come on. Even if you're a fake, you still need to eat." The reason she said he was a fake, was because she still didn't think that he was her father… no matter how much they acted alike. Suuichi nodded and followed her to the area where the rest of the group (excluding Hiei. He didn't want to take part in this human activity) was eating.
After School
"Man… that was boring!" Sakaki exclaimed as she walked out of the school grounds. She was heading in a different direction than whoever she 'knew' in that school because she wanted to get back to her actual home. Once she looked around and made sure that no one was around, she opened the portal and stepped through, closing it behind her right away. She took off the jade stone, revealing her true form and leapt into the field that her father had owned. Sighing, she made her way to her uncle's forest to another one of her hiding places where she was keeping the little jade stone necklace. The kitsune set it down within the spelled confines of a tree before leaping to her home and stepping into the house silently, removing her shoes before entering fully and walked to her room without making any noise and falling onto a more modernized bed, falling asleep soon after.
With Yusuke and the gang
"Oi. Kurama, you alright?" Yusuke waved a hand in front of his face. His usual green eyes were already half-golden even though it wasn't anywhere near sundown. The red-haired student shook his head as if he was leaving a daydream or conversation with Youko and nodded to the group.
"Yes. But where is Botan? She was supposed to take me to Spirit World right after school. After all, tonight is the sickle." Yusuke and Kuwabara shrugged. But in less than thirty seconds, the said spirit flew up to them, invisible to a normal humans' eye.
"Sorry I'm late. Lord Koenma needed help with some files." She stated while hovering next to the group who nodded in understandment. "You ready?" the grim reaper asked Kurama who nodded and silently sat on the oar before making a slight wave to the baka and the detective and with that, Botan flew to the spirit realm with the transforming Kurama in tow.
In Spirit World
"Lord Koenma, Kurama is going to stay in this realm for tonight." Botan announced to the sitting toddler who nodded before stating,
"Good." He faced the said demon, "If Youko can find her, track Sakaki down." Kurama nodded while Youko spoke within his mind.
'I know where she will be, but it would take her time to understand what happened.'
Sundown with Sakaki
Sakaki awoke and found the night sky from a nearby window practically calling for her to take a walk. She stood and walked out the house, not bothering to put her shoes on. For, she'd rather walk barefoot in the soft grass.
With Botan and Kurama
"Just remember to meet me in this same exact place, alright?" Botan asked and was given a nod for a reply. She gave him a quick smile before disappearing into the sky.
'Youko, are you ready?' Suuichi asked.
'Why wouldn't I be? I only get to step foot on actual ground once in a moon cycle, after all.' Youko smirked. Kurama's red hair grew only slightly and was slowly turning silver while the white hakama appeared where the human clothes once were. Claws grew while kitsune ears and tails slowly grew on his head and lower back.
"Ahh… Finally." Youko sighed with content and made a fang-filled smirk before leaping onto the very tip of a large tree and caught familiar scents looming not to far away. His hair whipped behind him as he made his way to a large meadow with a forest on one side and a dojo-like house on the other. When he spotted a figure, he couldn't help but smile and snuck his way into the forest, the direction in which the figure clad in pale green was headed.
With Sakaki
The silver kitsune strode into the forest with a slight saddened smile on her face as she made her way to the clearing where her uncle used to stay. She sat down on the hollowed out, fallen tree that he had used as a bed, though he mostly slept high in a branch… It gave the clearing more of a homey feel. Sighing, Sakaki leaned backwards and looked up to the sky, her eyes widening when she caught a somewhat familiar smell. One that hadn't stepped foot on the lands for years. 'Imposter.' She thought, standing up and looking around harshly at the intruder.
With Youko
He smirked as he dashed silently around his old friend's living quarters, known mostly as his brother since they had acted so much alike. If he was going to reunite with his daughter, he might as well make it interesting. Taking different types of seeds from his hair, he gave them each part of his energy and dropped them on the ground behind him when he ran in a circle around the clearing.
With Sakaki
Sakaki spun around in circles literally while trying to find the exact demon that had wanted to impose on her memories so. Again, her eyes widened when she saw magnificent plants sprouting out of nowhere all around her. They were all her favorite types of plants that only her father and uncle knew of. This imposter was certainly something to know about that. Spotting a rose bush, her soft spot emerged as she walked over to it and kneeled down and before she reached for one of the beautiful crimson roses, a shadow appeared behind her. Her head spun around, hair sprawling over her left shoulder as she did so and gasped.
With Youko
He approached the girl from behind as the beauty of his signature plant engulfed her. Hovering over her and seeing her spin around, his smirk changed to a smile, his eyes softened immensely. "Sakaki…" he spoke in almost a whisper as he kneeled down in front of her and waited to see her reaction. She gazed at him as tears brimmed her eyes before diving into a large hug, which caught Youko off guard.
"Dad." She whispered as she let out tears of joy to see her father alive. It wasn't an imposter at all. Anyone who knew her father well enough could tell that he was the real thing. Youko looked down at her slightly and returned the hug.
"Now, now." He stated with a hint of humor in his voice, "It's not like I've died or something."
