Elvengirl10: Hi all. I'm back with yet another poem. Yeah, been awhile since my last one, huh? Well, i found myself in the Being again that I did. The Being is the trance-like state I go into that allows me to write a poem.
My inspiration: I've been reading Amber and Ashes lately, plus alot of Dragonlance fanfiction. With the fanfiction however, I've notived a reoccuring theme. I've realised that alot of the fanfiction, the ending will probably involve the defeat and possible destrution of Takhisis, and not much is said of Paladine. Which got me thinking about The War of Souls and I'm to remind everyone that no matter what happens, The Balance must be maintained. Meaning that if Takhisis falls, Paladine must fall with her, no questions asked. Then, that got me thinking of Gilean, and how he must feel and thus it resulted in this poem, which I am very proud of.
Light and dark.
Held by neutrility.
The balance perfectly equal.
That's the way it always was.
Till now that is.
Now I sit alone.
Alone in the Abyss.
Writing in the Great Book.
Hearing only silence.
It is now that my mind wanders,
To my memories
Of the past.
Before that wretched war
That took you both away.
Away from me.
I still remember,
Your laugh, my sister
Your smile, my brother.
But they are not enough.
Not enough to fill this void.
This void created in my heart.
For now I sit alone.
With two vacent seats beside me.
Takhisis
I still remember,
Your beauty
Your ambiton
Your determination
Your strenght.
Paladine
I still remember
Your bravery
Your humility
Your love
Your sacrifice.
For now I sit alone.
I stare at the scales.
Perfectly Balanced.
I watch them,
To see that it remains so.
I watch them,
Every minute of every waking hour.
Never resting.
They must not tip
for then I will fall.
I know they will tip,
And I will fall.
You, my sister
You, my brother
For the sake of The Balance
You both fell.
And now I sit alone
Watching the scales.
All for the sake of The Balance.
