Winter hols started on December 17th that year. It was the Marauder's last Christmas at Hogwarts and we all decided to stay, Lily included. But Peter wasn't allowed. He begged his parents but they just wouldn't let him stay.

Snowfall was at an all time high and some of the entrances to the castle were snowed shut. Not that anyone cared, the castle was practically empty and the passage that led to Honeydukes' was still open, freezing as hell, but open.

We were in the common room at that moment. Sirius and James were engrossed in some sort of card game that required lots of cursing, jumping around, laughing and card throwing. Lily and I were at a small table to the left of them, talking, drinking coffee and eating chocolate.

Every so often, James or Sirius would come over to get a drink and they chatted with us happily.

"Who's winning?" I asked as they both approached the table.

"James claims he is, but this game is very complicated, it's hard to be sure," Sirius answered, as he was about to sit down in the chair beside me but seemed to have decided that my lap was a better place to be.

"Oh, I—," I was mid-reply when he sat on me. "Sirius! Get off me! You're about as heavy as a mountain troll!" Compared to me, he was. I was really thin and bony and he was major toned Quidditch player.

"Rem, I am shocked!" He said with mock outrage. "Shocked!"

"Oh, shut up," I said with a swat to his shoulder and he burst out laughing. Lily and James peered at us knowingly over their coffee cups. "What?"

"Come on, Sirius," James said as he put down his cup, completely ignoring me. "I want to finish kicking your ass."

"Keep dreaming, Jamey. Keep dreaming."

We all laughed and they returned to their game. Lily and I watched them for a little while and then she said, "Rem?"

"Yeah, Lils?"

"Do you—" she stopped short and appeared to have thought better of it. "Never mind."

"No, do I what?" I asked intrigued. She smirked. I wondered why she wasn't a Slytherin; she was clearly manipulating my inquisitive nature.

"Nothing."

"No, what? Tell me."

"Nothing."

"Come on, Lils."

"Fine," she said with feigned exasperation. "Do you like Sirius?"

"What do you mean 'like'?" I asked, desperately fighting the blush that threatened to crawl across my cheeks.

"You know what I mean by 'like'. Get-into-his-pants like," she replied as casually as she would if I asked her what shampoo she used.

"Lily!" I exclaimed, my blush won the fight and settled happily over my usually pale face.

"What?" she asked innocently. "You didn't answer my question."

"I don't know." I replied slowly.

Just then, Sirius and James erupted into raucous laughter. My gaze rested on the topic of our conversation. He was doubled over, holding his stomach, laughing. Strands of his long black hair had fallen out of the tie and were framing his playful features. I could see the muscles of his back, pulled taut beneath the tight black t-shirt he wore. I loved his laugh, his voice, his smile, his—

Did I like him?

Merlin, I guess I did.

Absently, I broke another piece of chocolate from the bar and slowly brought it to my mouth. Out of nowhere, Sirius grabbed my wrist from behind, before the chocolate made it any further than my lips. He then wrapped his mouth around my middle finger, my index finger and the piece of chocolate.

Slowly, Sirius dragged his tongue between my fingers, removing all traces of chocolate and sending electricity shooting through my entire body. I watched, transfixed and he had his eyes closed, concentrating on the task at hand. My face turned a deeper shade of crimson as he released my fingers and went back to the game.

James was staring from me to Sirius with his mouth hanging open like a fish out of water.

I turned to Lily with wide eyes and she smirked.

"I think he may like you."
