"I was alone in the dark
Never let down my guard
Closed the curtain on my heart
So the world could not see
All the demons in me
Told myself I was free"
Kate Todd was confused. Very confused. She never thought that she needed anyone to make her happy. She could be happy all on her own. But maybe...maybe she was wrong.
'I don't need anyone,' she told herself time and time again, on those lonely nights when she had no one to hold her close. 'I can make it on my own.' And for years, she made herself believe this. But now...she found herself changing...found her heart changing. All because of Him.
"Then you showed me how wrong I could be...
Now I'm standing on a mountain of rubble
That once was a wall
Took years to build around me
And you came along
And you tore it down
Like it was nothing at all
Now it's a little scary
Learning to fall"
Now she lay in bed, alone, watching the rain roll down the windowpane. She closed her eyes, and smiled to herself when she saw him, smiling at her. She loved him...she knew that she loved him. And she knew that she had fallen for him...he had broken into her heart, past the million brick walls that it hid inside. He had slowly worked his way inside, until she couldn't get him out. And now, she was almost scared...almost.
"When you looked in my eyes
Past the fear and false pride
You saw goodness inside
I can't believe how I feel
I believe love is real
And I'm ready to heal"
She loved him...she really did. And she couldn't wait to tell the world.
"I love you Tony DiNozzo." She whispered into the darkness. It felt good to say it out loud.
"You show me how right I can be..
Now I'm standing on a mountain of rubble
That once was a wall
Took years to build around me
And you came along
And you tore it down
Like it was nothing at all
Now it's a little scary
Learning to fall"
She could almost feel him laying beside her, holding her close. But then, in a state of reality, she felt a warm presence in the bed beside her, and a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist. "I love you too Caitlyn Todd." Tony whispered into her ear. Kate turned around to face him, and ran her hand across his face. In the darkness, a smile lit up his face, and spread into his eyes. And she smiled back as her lips met his in a soft kiss. Yes...it might be a little scary learning to fall, but in the end, the fall is worth it.
"I was holding on, now I'm letting go."
End
Well...how was it? Ok I suppose...
