Sora's New love

Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon nor do I own their characters. But I do own the ideas of this story, and the original characters

A/N: To all those who have read my previous stories, which were based on the Powerpuff girls, I have created this new story. I have explained that I like digimon as well in my profile. This is my first Digimon fiction, so please, enjoy and no flames please! Note: this is somewhat of a self-insertion story. This takes place around season 2, right after the defeat of Malemyotismon.

Ch 7: "I Do!"

James woke up the next day, feeling a little bit dazed. He had almost forgot what he had done the past night. Suddenly the phone rang and James picked it up. "Hello, this is James." James spoke into the phone. "You asked Sora to marry you?!?!" the voice spoke on the other line. It was good old Tai. "How the heck did you find out?!" James yelled back into the phone. "Sora told Ai, and Ai told Shinjiro, and he told me…man, you're sure you're going to do this?!" "Yea, I'm sure…dude, you know I am so in love with her." "Ok, hey, can I be your best man?" "Sure thing, Tai. But hey, let's wind down the speed a bit ok?"

After a hasty breakfast, James cleaned up when he noticed that Agumon was still asleep on his cushion. "Hmmm, deep sleeper…" James muttered. James puts the dishes into the dishwasher, and takes out a fresh plate. He fills it with more bacon and eggs and placed it on the table. He then walks over to his sleeping friend and rubbed the yellow dinosaur on the noggin softly. "You alright, buddy? You don't usually sleep in and skip breakfast."

"Ughhh…my head…it really hurts!!!" The yellow digimon whined. James just patted Agumon on the head softly. "I'll get you some aspirin, why not help yourself to the plate of chow while I go through the medicine cabinet." As Agumon consumed the food slowly, which was very unusual, James asked from the cabinet, "What did you do last night?" Agumon groaned and pointed to an empty bottle in the trash. James took it out and noticed it was a brand new bottle of Sake with a red bow on it. "Where did you get this?" James asked his digimon with a surprised tone. "It was on the front door when I stepped inside…I didn't know what it was, but I poured a cup from it and drank…bleah! I didn't like it and tossed the rest in the trash! And next thing I know, you woke me up!" "Geez, guess you can't handle your alcohol." James commented with a chuckle. James lifted up the bottle and noticed that it was delivered to the wrong apartment complex. Meanwhile, somewhere in Tokyo, someone is not receiving his or her prized Sake bottle from a contest.

Back in the apartment, James smelled the contents of the sake bottle, and it was still quite fresh. James puts the bottle into the fridge. "For later…Agumon maybe can stay sober for a while, but me and some friends would like it!" James thought. After that, he gave Agumon two pills and the digimon swallowed them. "You should get some rest…until the hangover goes away… I'll be going out, I have some…business to take care of." Agumon nodded and pushed the plate of food away after he finished it and hopped back on his cushion. James just closed the blinds to dim the room a bit for his friend and walks out of his apartment after getting dressed into something nice and slick, but yet casual.

Sora is in her room, looking at the ring and admiring it dreamingly. She is in such a daze. Her bright red eyes stared at the diamonds on the ring. She ran a hand through her beautiful auburn reddish hair, feeling the slight curl at the ends. She kept twirling her hair as she stared at the ring and remembered all the memories that she and James shared together. She knew he was the one. He always seemed to radiate that pleasant feeling every time she is with him. Biyomon was still asleep, perched on a large wooden rod that Sora has bought from the hardware store and bolted to the wall in the living room. Sora snapped out of the trance when the doorbell rang. She got up and walked to the door, with a happy smile as always.

James had bought another bouquet of flowers and waited outside her door. He just wants to keep showering her with gifts. The door opened and James smiled as he looked into his fiancé's eyes. He thrust forward the hand holding the bouquet slowly and exclaimed, "Another gift for the girl I love!" Sora just took the bouquet, smelled it, and wrapped her arms around James in a loving embrace. She kissed him once on the cheek, and rested her head on his shoulders are they embraced for a while. James stroked her hair as they listened to each other's breath, in and out in a peaceful tone. Sora broke the embrace and pulled James inside while holding his hand. James closed the door behind him and took a seat on the couch as he watched Sora place the roses into a vase. James looked over to the right side to see Biyomon sleeping on the perching rod.

Sora came out of the kitchen with 2 glasses of chilled soda and served her sweetheart. James took the drink and drank as he puts his arm around his fiancé's shoulders. She rested her head on his shoulder and talked, "so, shall we contact our families?" She asked while holding his hand softly. "Of course, does your mom already know?" Sora nudged her head a little on his shoulder, signifying she already informed her mother. "I'll call back to the U.S later tonight. I'm sure all will be fine. Heck, they'll be overjoyed!" James said, as he turned his head to give a peck on her cheek. He then asked where would she like to have the wedding at, and the date. He suggested the Akiyama country club in town and maybe in the next 3 months. She really doesn't have anything else in mind and liked what James had in mind. The couple just cuddled on the couch for the rest of the day, watching TV together. In the middle of it, Biyomon woke up and they played with her for a bit. They then went online together and booked reservations at the country club.

Taichi sat on his couch sofa and watched TV as he thought about what James had done. "Wow, the time had finally come. Geez, he's surely outdone both Matt and me. But then I'm ok with that… I never really thought about it…but I think I'm very in love with Mimi." He thought. In fact during the years that pasted since James and Sora met, Mimi had moved back to Japan from the States. After getting over Sora, Tai started realizing he has developed feelings for the pink haired girl. "Hah! And to believe that I thought she was annoying in the past. Now she's stunningly beautiful and actually quite nice. Not to mention, very sincere!!!" Tai's Agumon walked into the living room and noticed that look on his face. "You ok, Tai?" Tai turned his head in a snap, looked at Agumon as a slightly sinister look went over his face. Tai quickly, in a flash, put down his drink on the table and jumped behind Agumon and gave him a nudgie. "Oww! Oww! Oww!" "Yea, I'm fine, Agumon!" Tai let go of his digimon and rubbed his head softly. "Sorry pal!" Agumon just looked at with a slightly annoyed look.

"Well, I heard James and Sora are getting married, what's up with you, Tai?" Agumon stated. "Well, everyone's getting married now. I'm wondering if I should ask Mimi to marry me?" Agumon's jaw dropped to the floor. "Her?! And you?!?!" He then fell to the floor and started laughing and rolling around. Tai's head got really big, anime style and shouted, "AND WHAT'S WRONG WITH DAT?!?! I'M DATING HER, AM I?!?!" Agumon stopped rolling in his tracks, looked up at Tai, and sweat dropped. "Sorry. Well, if you want to do it, go ahead." Agumon replied. Tai just shrugged. He took out his wallet and looked at its contents. There were only a few low value bills inside. "Maybe it won't happen for a while."

Almost 3 months had passed and it is about a day from the wedding. All of the members of the first 8 digidestineds have been invited, as well as Davis's group. Mimi, Tai, Hikari and her husband T.K, Matt, Joe, Izzy, Davis, Ken, Yolie, and Cody, and all of their digimon were going. Also James's family and relatives had come from the U.S and other places of the world just to see him get married. Already, James was in a rush to get things ready. He and Sora had just finished the rehearsal wedding, rehearsal Chinese reception, and also being told that they would have to serve tea to the elders in both families. Sora was sent home to prepare for the wedding the next day. Mimi was her maid of honor and stayed the night with her. Her other 2 brides maids were Kari and Yolie. James also has hired Ai and her hit keyboarding band to be the musicians at the wedding. Tai suggested at the wedding, that the Agumons wear different colored bowties to identify which is which. So it was decided that James's Agumon wears red, while Tai's wears blue.

The boys decided that James should have a surprise bachelor party the night before the wedding. So Tai, Matt, Shinjiro and all the other boys, except Davis and TK as their wives wouldn't let them go to such a party, snuck into James' apartment and prepared the events that will happen at the party. Beer was ordered, and Tai found the Sake bottle that was in the fridge and realized that it was still good. Matt called a stripper while the others moved this and that. Just then James's Agumon caught sight of James's car pulling into the apartment parking lot from the window. The boys quickly turned off lights and ducked behind the couch and other areas that were a good hiding place.

James yawned and stretched as he boarded the elevator. He tapped his floor on the pad as he held his jacket from his shoulder. "Man, I hope everything goes really well tomorrow…man, I'm so happy, I'm actually going to get married with the girl I love!" he thought as he stepped off the elevator and walked to his door. He turned the key inside the keyhole and unlocked his door. As he stepped inside, he was startled by everyone jumping out of their hiding spots, yelling "Surprise!" "What the F?!?!" came out of James's mouth. Most of the guys that were there dropped on the ground and started laughing, as they never expected James to be that startled.

Tai spoke up, "Well, you're getting married tomorrow! So, here's a party to celebrate!!" Tai poured beer into a mug and handed it to James. James was at first a bit annoyed that they startled him, but then cheered up as he realized that his boys, his brothers, were hosting a party for him. With that, Tai grabbed his own mug and raised it saying, "Let's give a toast to James, another fellow digi-brother getting hitched!" "Hear! Hear! A toast!!" shouted the other boys in the party as Tai, James and everyone raised their mugs for a toast and drank.

The girls were just having something similar. The girls stayed up late drinking beverages and doing girl stuff. Sora's wedding dress was hung up in a cabinet somewhere. James's cousin, Cindy told Sora about what Chinese weddings usually do, is that the groom will come in the morning of the wedding to pick the bride up, and the bride's party will inform the groom of a list of challenges that will force the groom's party to do in order to gain entry. Sora liked the idea and had her friends worked together to think of something that will be utterly funny when James and the other boys try to accomplish something 'interesting' in order to pick Sora up.

While at the boys' party, James was drinking beer on the couch. Just then the doorbell rang, and Tai rushed to open it. A girl in a police officer's uniform stood at the door. "You're the stripper?" Tai whispered to make sure that James doesn't hear. She nodded. Then Tai turned around and spoke, "James, did you do something wrong? She claims she's gonna to arrest you and she has a warrant." James stood up, and just looked at the cop-girl with a confused look. Just then the girl went, "You are under arrest, and you have the right to remain…aroused!" Suddenly the girl started stripping and did her work. James just sighed in relief and laughed a bit. The other guys started laughing at James's somewhat serious reaction. "I admit, it is arousing…but I rather see Sora doing that for me." James thought. So he stopped the girl from coming any closer to him to do a lap dance. He gives her a huge tip. "I appreciate you coming to give me an entertaining performance, but I truly love my fiancé and I want nothing really to interfere with my feelings towards her. But you can perform for my friends, as they sure want you to."

The girl agreed, and knew that James is a person with a good and strong will. "I understand… I'll keep on performing for the other guys, if they don't mind!" She shouted. "YEA!!!" The other guys yelled. James went to the corner and watched the performance as it's performed to the other boys. He sighed and he knew he did the right thing.

The big day came… and Sora woke up and sat down in front of the make up table as her friends helped put on her make up. Mimi prepared the speech that will be given to the groom's party when they come to the front door. Kari prepared the items necessary to use in the challenges that the boys will have to go through. Just then, In James apartment, James got into his tuxedo and put on the rose that symbolizes the groom onto the coat pocket. Tai rang the doorbell and came in after James opened the door, with an Agumon wearing a mini tuxedo and a blue bowtie. "You're ready? We have to pick Sora up!" "Yea, yea! Here, put on your yellow rose!" Tai grabbed the yellow rose and clipped it to his coat pocket on his tuxedo. James's Agumon strolled out, wearing his mini tuxedo and red bowtie. "Let's go!" He yelled and went over to give his "brother", Tai's Agumon, five. The boys got outside, into their cars and drove to Sora's place. James asked Tai to drive both Agumons in his car as James is driving a rented Ford Expedition to help make it easier for Sora to ride in, especially with the long train that follows her dress.

James and the rest of the boys taking part in the "picking-up" arrived outside Sora's house in their vehicles. James got out, with a wedding bouquet, followed by his best man, Tai. The other boys were: Both agumons, Davis, Matt, and Shinjiro. James rang the doorbell and waited. Davis had a camcorder and was recording the events. Mimi went over to a window near the door and opened it. "You wish to pick up the bride? Well, we have got some challenges for you!!" James jaw dropped to the floor. "wha?!" "First, all of you will have to get into this position," she showed an image of a ballerina performing a quite difficult position. "And spell out Sora's name with words stating her good qualities. For example, Sweet, Overwhelmingly-beautiful, R… You get the picture!"

The boys looked at each other, shrugged and struggled to get into position. James began to state good qualities in Sora's name, but got stuck on "O". He yelled at the other boys to help him come up with other words. Half of the time, the boys were falling down and struggling to get back up. Finally, the boys were done, and they asked for entry once again. "Nope! You got 2 more challenges!" The boys almost did anime style "fall-backwards". The girls stuck out a banana thru the mail slot and asked the boys to hold the banana in between their legs and pass it down the line from James to the last guy in the end, whom was Matt. If they drop it, they would have to start all over, and the person who caused the drops the most have to eat the banana in the end. It turned out that the boys struggled for a bit, and after they were finally done with it, Davis had to eat the half crushed and mushy banana. The third challenge was an easy one and the boys finally gained entry.

As Yolie offered something pleasant to get rid of the taste, to her husband Davis, the other boys ate some food that was given to them. James didn't eat anything, instead, he went straight to Sora's room and knocked. He heard a little knock on the inside. He opened the door slowly to catch a peek of his stunningly beautiful bride holding standing behind the door. Biyomon was holding the train with her claws as she hovered slightly in the air. Sora came out, smiled at James as she took the bouquet and smelled it. She then held it in her hand, and walked down the stairs while holding James' hand.

As they walked down, Davis put his plate of food on the nearest table and held the camera back up and started filming again. At about 5 steps left to go before they reach the first floor, James reached behind Sora, and lifted her up, one arm behind her back with the other behind her knees. He carried her down the rest of the steps and walked out the door that Tai had opened for him. Both Agumons rushed at the Ford Expedition and opened the backseat door. James helped Sora got onto the vehicle, while Biyomon helped place her train into the back. Biyomon got into the backseat with Sora, while James' Agumon hoped into shotgun.

The group drove over to the country club. James held the door open as Sora got out, with Biyomon in tow. Biyomon was then relieved when Mimi took over, in her maid of honor dress. Kari and Yolie were in their Brides Maid outfits. Sora and the girls went into another room at the club for final preparations. While James and the boys coordinated the chairs to be placed into the right positions, he noticed how much he has transformed the ordinary hole #5's putting green into the perfect wedding ceremony location. A red carpet was laid out from inside the club to the putting green, up to the canopy where James and Sora would say their vows. Chairs were placed on both sides of the aisle, the left would be for James' family, and the other Sora's family and friends. The canopy was a magnificent wooden white arch. Two pots of flowers were placed on either side of the canopy. And the minister stood in the front.

The ceremony is just about to start. Ai was already in position by the canopy, with her band. James stood at the starting point of the carpet, and waited for the playing of music to be his cue to walk down the carpet and get next to his best man, who is already up there. Ai looks at her watch, looks at the minister, who nodded, and signaled her band to start playing a good tune. James walks down the carpet, and stands on the right side, in front of Tai. The other guests took their seats. Suddenly, Ai's band started playing "here comes the bride," and everyone started to get up as the watched Sora being escorted by her Mother, and Mimi at her sides. The brides maids' held her train and followed behind.

Sora joined James at the canopy, holding her bouquet. Mimi stood behind Sora, while Kari and Yolie stood beside Mimi on each side. The minister started the ceremony and after a bit, asked for the rings. Tai actually sweat dropped as he searched his pockets for the rings. Just then Tai's Agumon pulled his pant legs slightly and gave Tai the rings. Tai sighed in relief, thanked his friend, and faced towards the minister. He sweat dropped and handed over the rings. The couple placed their rings on each other's hands. They said their vows, and finally, the words everyone has been waiting for, Sora and James said, "I do." With the minister saying "With the power vested in me, I pronounce you, Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride." James reached over, flipped Sora's veil over her head and kissed her. Everyone stood up and cheered, clapped as James grabbed Sora's hand and walked off the putting green with her.

The rest of the guests just saw James and Sora getting into a room in the club and serve tea to their elders. First, James and Sora served a cup of tea to James' parents, his uncles, aunts , and grandparents. Then they finally served Sora's mother, and her uncles, aunts, and grandparents as well. As each elder drank the tea, they gave each of the newly weds a red packet of money, as part of Chinese tradition.

The newly weds got into a limousine and drove off to the restaurant for the reception. The Chinese reception started an hour later and the entertainment was very festive. Sora and James finally went around, and offered a toast to each of the wedding guests. Each of them gave a speech about how they met. That night, after the guests said their congratulations, goodbyes, and went home, Sora and James said goodbye and embraced their parents. They said a tearful farewell and went out the door. Sora and James got into their limousine with their digimon and went off to James' home.

The next day, the newly weds stepped out their doors with their luggage, to get to the airport to get to their honeymoon in Hawaii. At the airport, Tai and Mimi were there to see them off. The friends hugged and said goodbye as Sora and James boarded the plane. With Biyomon and James's Agumon. The plane took off and the couple was on their way.
