"Wormtail," a high, cold voice rang clearly through the deserted hall, "Wormtail, bring me Veritaserum."
"Yes master, yes…" The small, hunched figure bowed low and retreated out of the corridor, his tiny, bald head barely visible.
"Now, Nagini," the man hissed, "We shall see…"
The snake that lay at his feet stirred slightly. She looked up at the man and her red eyes glittered maliciously.
"Enervate! "
The man's eyes travelled from the snake to the woman that lay, motionless on the floor. A long, thin piece of wood poked out from the sleeve of his robes as he muttered the incantation.
"Master, master I have it…" Wormtail wheezed, running back to the man, who held up a hand to silence him.
"Bring it to me, Wormtail," he whispered, "she is yet too weak to run…"
The woman's eyes were darting between the man, the snake and the tiny wizard that lay in front of her. The rest of her body was not moving.
"We shall see…" the man repeated, " Crucio!"
The woman screamed, writhing and twisting on the floor.
"Tell me," the man murmured, "What did the Prophecy say?"
"I will never tell you!" The woman gasped, trying in vain to sit up.
"TELL ME!" the man thundered, once again pointing his wand at her.
"Never!" she cried.
"Crucio!"
The woman screamed again, but between her sobs she could be heard shrieking "Never! You'll never find out! I shall never tell you! I…"
"You what?" the man said softly. "You surely do not think I cannot force you to do this for me?" He laughed, a cold, crazy sounding laugh, "I am Lord Voldemort, and I will make you tell me…"
"No…no, please…" she whimpered, watching his white, skeleton-like hand advance towards her, clutching a small bottle full of what was seemingly clear liquid. But Sybil Trelawney knew exactly what was in that bottle, and it wasn't water…
