The lad in the center exchanged glances with the lad on the left for a few moments. Then both turned to stare as the lad on the right jumped up and down, bobbling his head. He stopped dancing after a moment, looking back at them, before standing still once again.
Together, all three turned back to examine the thick cards in their hands, embossed with the Hogwarts emblem.
The three lads approached the train platform, wearing matching puzzled looks. They glanced down at a thick sheet of paper in the center's hands.
Left broke away to reach over to his luggage, and re-adjust a small animal carrier perched on top. A small brown nose peeked out from the plastic box and let out a soft bark before the animal curled back up on a blanket inside. Right turned aside, tilting his head slightly as he watched several workers erect a new scrolling LED sign on the far wall.
Center glanced up from the paper and nodded his head to the side for several long moments. Glancing at him, they followed his gaze, to see a pair of older red-haired children push similar looking luggage carts towards a brick wall. The trio jumped back in surprise as the pair disappeared into the stone.
Sharing a shrug, the three followed suit and pushed their carts along the same path.
They had found an empty booth by the end of the train and donned their new robes over their black jumpsuits. For a while, each seemed to figit slightly, adjusting to the unusual feel of the extra cloth.
Center pulled his orange wand out and began to tap on the seat beside him. Left drummed his fingers on the door, while Right did the same on the glass window. As the seconds went by, the pattern became more and more complex and they began to bounce along with the beat.
This continued until a small squeeking noise was heard coming from the corridor.
The three lads fell grew still and looked up to see the dessert cart rolling by, laden with sweets. Three pairs of eyes widened, as they jumped to the door.
Walking along the train, Prefect Ronald Weasly had thought he'd seen everything. Especially after helping defeat Voldemort...and especially from growing up with Fred and George.
Today he learned that he hadn't, not by any stretch of the imagination. Nothing in all his years at Hogwarts could have prepared him for this.
An odd, but vastly complex and enticing drumming sound was coming from the last compartment on the Express. He gingerly began to pull his wand from the folds of his Gryffindor robes, as he approached the door and looked inside.
He blinked, shook his head and blinked again, not believing his own eyes.Inside the compartment there stood three children, triplets. Three small children, with matching blue skin, bald head, and noticibly missing ears.
If that was not surprising enough, Left was furiously beating on the chairs, the walls, and the door, with three orange wands. Small glowing trails of color were erupting from each, in streams of red, yellow, and purple. Almost oblivious to the light show, Center and Right were taking turns, opening Chocolate Frogs at each other, jumping to catch them in their mouths. Only to turn and spit the chocolate out of the open window instead of swallowing it.
In one motion they turned to look at Ron for a long moment.
Then Right leaned over and spat the frog from his mouth down the back of Center's robes. Center gave him a stern look and scooped the frog up and tossed it out the window to join the other candies. Left began drumming the wands along the seat and walls, while Center and Right reached for another set of Chocolate Frogs.
Ron backed away slowly, raising his eyebrows. This was definately going to be ...an unusual year.
