It's been two years to the day that the final battle ended. So many had fallen to the cause and yet they had all been remembered. Perhaps they always would be. They had given their lives for something sacred and it was for this reason we all continued to live. We walk through the graveyard we have given to them and whisper our final words to them. They belong to the earth and their souls are at peace. They've been given the second chance, the one that we, the survivors, have given to them.

I stop in front of Granger's grave and kneel, looking at it with a light I have never shown to anyone except Harry. I know that it was her death that pushed him over the edge, but it was also her death that gave him the strength to continue fighting. He finally refused to seek his own death and to make sure his friends hadn't died in vain. I was beside him while he did just that. He had fought with all that he had and he had destroyed the once great Dark Lord with a simple killing spell that others had fallen to.

I stand and I move my eyes around, only to stop them on my Harry. He's kneeling in front of Dumbledore's grave with a sullon look on his face. He wishes he could have saved him. He doesn't say it, but I know. I shake my head just a little and continue to look around, stopping my eyes over those Slytherin friends that I lost. I make my way to one grave in particular and kneel before the headstone, rubbing it gently. Blaise Zabini. Comrad in arms. Friend until the end. Live in Peace. I grew up with him and I failed him, just as Harry failed Granger and Weasley. We both failed our friends, but we would never fail each other.

I stand yet again and I make my way to my godfather's grave, and kneel. I brush off the dirt and I read his headstone...Severus Snape. Fighter to the Light. Braver than any one man. Your journey has ended. Rest forever in peace...and it's all true. All of it. He gave more than any of us, including Harry. He is the one that saved Harry. Voldemort sent the killing curse towards Harry, but Severus, traitor to his Dark Lord, took it and allowed Harry the opening he needed to free the wizarding world of their darkness. His death and his sacrifice didn't go unnoticed. He's amongst the heroes of this battle. Harry and I, in honor of my godfather, each have a serpent on our hearts with an silver 'S' entwined that has two black eyes. Yes. We will forever remember Severus Snape.

I raise my eyes and I look at Harry. He's now next to Granger and Weasley's graves, giving them the flowers that he gives them each time we visit the graves. It's a ritual between us. We never speak of the deaths or those that have fallen, except the nights we come here. Then it's all open for discussion. He gives them each a flower, one that signifies everything they are. He has another tattoo on him...this one on the right side of his neck...HG-HP-RW then right below, Friends Forever United. It's in Gryffindor colors and each year, he has it remarked so it will stay fresh and clear for all to see.

I stand and make my way to him, standing behind him. I put my hands on his shoulders and give a gentle squeeze, and even if he doesn't move, I know he feels me. He stands slowly and leans against me, my arms going around his waist. He turns in my arms and looks at me, his green eyes clearer than they ever have been before. He leans forward and gives me a tender and chaste kiss. He looks at me and smiles, the first real smile I have seen in years. I smile the same and he takes my hand, pulling me with him as we leave the graveyard. We stop at the edge and as we turn, we look as the ghost raise.

Harry smiles as he sees Hermione and Ron join hands, smiling at him. Ron waves and releases Hermione's hand, his arm around her waist. Harry chuckles when he sees Hermione looking slightly embarrassed, his head shaking a little. I turn my eyes and see my godfather, and my best friend standing together, each looking as I knew them before. I give my infamous smirk as they join Hermione and Ron, knowing that Slytherins and Gryffindors have finally been united.

I look at Harry and he smiles at me, kissing my lips gently. I give a small sigh before pulling back, and together we leave. We are both aware that Dumbledore and Minerva are watching us as they have joined the others that have risen for their nightly playground routine. I smiled and as we walked the only thing I could think about was how free were, finally. I feel Harry's arm around my waist and I lean against him, my head on his shoulder and his head over mine. Yes. We were finally free, and now my Harry was finally at peace.
