Prologue: A diary

Luna yawned and sat up in her bed, well her Hogwarts bed that is; it was 5:00 am on a Sunday morning. She knew she would be the only one up for a while everyone liked to sleep in. Luna crept into bathroom silently as to not awaken her dorm mate, they would be very mad, especially Kena she likes her sleep. Luna got ready for the day, which in her case meant take a shower, brush her blonde hair, put on her robes, and wait for the latest edition of the Quibbler. This had been her routine since the start of her seventh year at Hogwarts.

"Well it seems as if this is going to be another day in paradise." Luna commented quietly to herself as she walked down the steps to the common room. It was empty but Luna didn't expect anyone to be in it anyway, she sat down in her favorite red armchair by the fire and grabbed yesterdays Quibbler and started to finish the crossword.

After a few hours Luna put down the Quibbler and made her way back to the girls dormitory, when she got there she reached under her bed to grab another Quibbler, she pulled it out and decided to go down to the library. She skipped down there and sat down in the far corner, this table was hardly ever used except by her, she started the crossword. Soon she was swinging her feet to her own made up beat and her foot accidentally hit the floor loosening a floorboard. Luna noticed this and pulled the floorboard off and stuck her hand into the small opening, her hand brushed against something. She pulled it out.

Luna's brow furrowed in concentration, she was looking at this old leather bound book; she had found it under her floorboards of her bed. It must have been a diary of someone's. She looked at the initials on the front cover, L.E. Luna shook her head, she didn't know whom it could belong to. And since Luna didn't have anything else to do she opened the cover and began reading a tale that was not her own to read.
