Important Disclaimer: I do not own Harry or Hermione, I just write about them. Those who continue to ask me whether I've bought the rights and titles to the Harry Potter franchise will force me to pick up my wand for an Avada Kadavra.
For those totally confused: This story is told alternately from the points of view of Harry and Hermione. They are in love, but as you will see in the following letter, Hermione left Harry behind. This takes place after they leave Hogwarts, about half a year after they finish their seventh year. Enjoy!
Hermione
Dear Harry,
I have been thinking about you all day. I can't imagine what made me leave you behind. All I can think of anymore are the things you used to whisper to me before class, or the things you would say that always made me feel so beautiful when most of the time I really didn't like myself. You understand me better than I will ever truly understand myself. I'm grateful…
I am trying to figure out how on earth I am going to get back to you. I am pinned in West Surrey, working as a temporary editor for a Muggle newspaper. (This, I'm sure, would make Ron's dad quite excited. He was already quite incensed when he spoke to my parents!) The only tie I have to the wizard world is my owl. (Yes, I finally took your suggestion and bought an owl. Crookshanks is a sweet cat, but he can't quite do the post.)
For now, just know that I am trying to get back to you.
I love you,
Hermione
