"My lies belong to you."

By: make me shiny

Tohma looked down at the ground in that moment and sighed. He did not believe that he would ever get through to the author. He strongly doubted right then that anyone could. He used to hold himself higher in Eiri's eyes than anyone else involved in Eiri's life. If someone could help Eiri break the curse of guilt that his past bound him with, it would be him. Now he wasn't so sure.

He wished that he could make Eiri see the world from a different angle. He wished that he could make him truly believe that things would eventually get better, or easier. He wished that he could take away the pain that he knew plagued him day in and day out. It was a pain that no one should have to bear and Tohma cried both inwardly and outwardly every day for him since the night it happened. That night was partially his fault after all. If he had just been there; paid closer attention. Maybe it would have ended differently. But no, this was Eiri's fate; a fate he had helped ensure. And as he watched his author wallow in his lowest point of self-loathing, he silently damned himself; As if he was destined for any other place than hell.

Or perhaps this was hell; damned to watch his love ache inside for all of eternity. He reached out to Eiri then. He wanted to make it better, but somehow knew already that he couldn't. He knew that no matter what he said it wouldn't reach. But still he continued to speak soft words of encouragement and optimism. He continued to assure the writer of brighter days and a life without regret. He spoke to him about letting the past stay where it was and assured him of a better life once it was let go. But how could you speak such words to someone and expect them to believe it, if you didn't? And he didn't. Not one word.

So now he was a liar as well.
