Chapter 3

Disclaimer: I OWN NOTHING EXCEPT MY OWN CHARACHTER!!!!!

It was morning. Last night that I had gotten no sleep at all. I don't think that has ever happened to me before. 'Oh well.' I should get dressed and be ready for the day to begin. I took out my midnight blue robes that I was given by Professor Dumbledore. "I'll buy more at Hogsmeade this weekend." I said to myself.

I was informed in a letter from Dumbledore that the students would not be arriving until later that night. I had most of the day to do whatever I wanted. That way I could have my lesson plan done too. I planned to talk to Minerva, and find out any information that I wasn't already given. She would know what goes on, as well as to tell me what to expect when the students arrive. I want to give a good first impression.

I left my dormitory an hour or so after I finished getting dressed. Walking down a long corridor, I found Minerva's classroom. She was setting up the room. Moving her blackboard and tiny objects around. Some things I recognized, but most of them were unfamiliar to me. I stepped inside and found not only Minerva, but Severus as well. 'Oh great. Just the person whom I didn't want to see.' Taking a small step towards the two professors, I made a small greeting,

"Hello, Minerva. Severus."

Severus looked at me with lust in his dark eyes. I didn't know what to say to him. Before I even realized it, he was walking towards me. I closed my eyes to wish him away. He was standing directly in front of me when I opened up my eyes. 'Well it's now or never. I have to face him sometime.' I knew I had to be brave, face him woman to man.

I saw deep in his eyes the longing that he had for me. I even felt it in my soul. Looking back into his dark eyes, all worries faded away. I was then able to read his thoughts. They were of me. Of me and only me. What was I to do? We couldn't do anything at that moment, not with Minerva standing there and all.

I quickly said goodbye to Minerva, not realizing that I didn't even ask her what I had intended to ask her. I walked out of the room, taking Severus by the hand. I led him into a dark corridor and kissed him. It was a kiss of true love. An emotion I had never experienced before. It scared me a little, but excited just as well. Severus wrapped his arms around me. His body was warm. I pressed my body against his and seized the moment. It was then I got a vision in my mind, Dumbledore was walking this way.

I felt like a teenager again. Racing through the corridors trying to escape being caught. It was childish, but fun. I realized I had never had this much fun in a long time. I was having fun with a person I was falling in love with. I was falling in love with Severus Snape.

As the evening welcoming ceremony was approaching, I walked with Severus into the Great Hall. He led me to the table in which the professors sit, but turned around before we reached it. Severus took my hands and spoke, soft, beautiful words,

"I love you, Elizabeth. With all my heart and soul, and everything I have to give."

I didn't know how to respond. I knew he meant it. I could read his thoughts and even feel the energy pass through me. The feeling was incredible. It was another power. So strong and forceful. I never knew such a power existed, or that love was so powerful. I almost thought I saw sparks flying when he was holding me. I never wanted to moment to end.

As soon as I leaned in to kiss Severus, Professor Dumbledore, and two other teachers walked into the room. I didn't recognize one of them, but the other was Minerva. Minerva and the other professor looked at us with a shock on their faces. Professor Dumbledore on the other hand, had a smile on his face. It was as if he knew what was going on.

I started to blush, my pale cheeks turned bright red with embarrassment. I tucked my head into Severus and wished I could disappear. Unfortunately, with Dumbledore there I couldn't. Instead, I faced my fears and confronted the head master and the professors. When Minerva tried to speak, no words came out. She was dead speechless.

Then Professor Dumbledore spoke, "Well then. I think everyone should get to their seats. I expect the students will be arriving soon. Professor McGonagall, shouldn't' you be waiting for them at the entrance?"

Minerva nodded and proceeded to walk out of the Great Hall. Before she exited, she took one last look at Severus and I. She went out of the door with a sigh and a smile.

Within a half an hour, the Great Hall was filled with students. Much noise was heard throughout the room. There was talking, laughing and cheering. Everyone was excited to be back at Hogwarts.

Minerva was by the entrance of the castle waiting for Hagrid, the grounds keeper, to arrive with the new first year students. As soon as they arrive, the welcoming feast and sorting ceremony could begin.

I was seated next to Severus, after Professor Dumbledore gave his approval. Although Severus was stern and cold looking to the students, I knew he had a heart of gold.

In the next minute the doors to the Great Hall burst open and two long files of students trailed behind Professor McGonagall. Hagrid went through a side door to the Great Hall and came out right next to me. I didn't mind. Although he did appear scary, he had a smile that could light up the room.

Once all of the new students were standing in front of the professors' table, the ceremony began. Minerva went into a small, closet-type room and came back with a small, wooden stool and an old, tattered looking hat. Severus whispered in my ear, "That's the sorting hat," he explained. It was only because I had a look of confusion on my face.

Minerva unrolled a large scroll of parchment and read off names of the new students. Each student to be called sat on the stool and wore the sorting hat. When the hat screamed a name (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin) the students would go to one of the four tables. During the entire process all students cheered. It gave me a headache and I began to feel tired. Unfortunately, I had to wait till it was all over. I smiled at the students, even though they looked at me and wondered who I was, to give a friendly appearance. It was funny reading the minds of the curious students. One even thought I was "hot." I intended to find out who that student was.

When the ceremony was done I waited until all of the students left. I didn't want them to see me with Severus. They would automatically begin thinking disturbing thoughts about me. Also because Severus needed to obtain his image of being cold and heartless. After ten minutes or so, when I knew that the coast was clear, Severus walked me to my dormitory.

I invited him in, be he declined. He needed to finish preparing his potions and lesson plan for tomorrow. I had to finish a few things myself. We said goodnight in an embraced hug and kiss. The he left. I went into my bedroom, lied on the bed and feel asleep. Not even bothering to finish my lesson plan.
