Chapter 5
A/N: I'm really sorry it's taken me so long to update. I have been really busy. I hope the chapter was worth waiting for...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was much later in the evening when I woke up. My cheeks were still wet from my tears. I don't think I have ever cried so much in my life. I was extremely devastated by what I saw. 'I never thought that love could hurt so much.'
I walked to the bathroom to wash my face. I needed to wash away the tears. When I decide to face him again, I will. Or better yet, GET EVEN!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following morning I woke up smiling. Today would be a new day and I will have no fears. If I see Severus at all, I will give him the true meaning of a "cold shoulder." I decided to wear my tight jeans and a tank top under my robes. If anything, I can take off the robe in class. It won't matter too much.
Hearing my stomach growling, I knew I needed to go to breakfast this morning. I walked out of my dormitory and locked the door behind me. I went into the corridor and saw students running past. I figured I was better safe than sorry to lock my door.
When I walked through the corridors to the Great Hall, I double checked to see that my "muggle" clothes were hidden under my robes. I didn't want Professor Dumbledore to have to say something to me about it. As I got closer to the entrance to the Great Hall I saw him again. He appeared to be waiting for someone, but who I wasn't quite sure. He turned around and saw me, then his wandering eyes focused on me.
"Good morning, Daniel."
"Hello, Professor Virtue," he said nervously.
It then occurred to me that I was the person he was looking and waiting for. I guess he was curious to know whether I was going to breakfast.
"Well, I guess we had better go inside. I don't want the other professors to think something is wrong with me, right?"
"Yeah…uh right, professor."
"See you in class later, Daniel."
"Uh…bye, Professor Virtue."
As I walked past him and into the Great Hall I felt his eyes still staring at me. I tried to listen for his thoughts and then I heard, 'Wow, that teacher is hot!!'
I laughed at the thought and then an idea came into my mind. I realized how I could plot revenge against Severus. By using a student from his own house against him. It would make him extremely jealous. He would be so mad. I loved the idea. All I had to figure out was how I was going to lure the student into my plan. Just as I questioned that, I came up with a brilliant plan. An evil grin spread across my face as I made my way to the professors' table.

The morning was quiet because I didn't have any classes. I spent the time in my classroom planning for my afternoon class. It was the same students from my morning class, yesterday. I was looking forward to it only because of one certain student, Daniel Malfoy.
I sat at my desk reading the Daily Prophet, wondering what was new in the wizard world. It seemed that the Minister of Magic was holding a conference to create a new law. It wasn't said exactly what the new law was to be yet, but it seemed to be important. There was a small article in the middle of the paper that caught my eye. It read:
"NEW TEACHER COMES TO HOGWARTS
Elizabeth Virtue, author of The Art of Telepathy is now teaching a Telepathy class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
I glanced at the article in mere curiosity. Thinking to myself, 'Why would they write an article about me?' It said nothing out of the ordinary since the last article they published, which was about the publication of my book, except the last line, which stood out to me. "It is said that if you stare directly into her emerald green eyes, they will put a spell on you!"
Laughing out loud at the ridiculous comment, I put down the Daily Prophet onto my desk. 'Why on earth would they say something like that?' It didn't seem to make any sense. I thought about the slight possibility, but then I considered that it was only publicity for the newspaper and nothing more. Even still, the last line did leave me wondering.
As the bell rang to signal it was lunch, I walked out of my classroom and headed towards the Great Hall. The corridors were filled with noisy students as they hurried to lunch. Everyone seemed eager to get away from their classes. I could sympathize with them because I knew what it was like to be stuck in a classroom for too long. It was enough to drive a person out of their mind. I walked slowly down the corridor in no rush and that was when I bumped into Severus.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," Severus said, not realizing who he bumped into.
"Are you?" I asked.
He stared at me not knowing what to say. I stared into his dark eyes and saw that was truly sorry. His mind and thoughts were confusing. It was a mix of so many different ways of trying to find the right words to apologize, that was going through his head. Yet when he opened his mouth to speak, no words nor sound was heard.
I don't think Severus understood how much he hurt me. I stood in the corridor with my arms crossed over my chest, waiting for a response. I was just about to give up on waiting and just walk away when I felt Severus grab my wrist.
"Elizabeth, wait."
I wanted to let go and walk away but something inside me prevented me from doing so. I turned around and stared into his deep dark eyes. My heart started pounding, I had butterflies and a jittery feeling in the pit of my stomach. 'What is happening to me?' I thought.
Severus was staring into my emerald eyes. When he closed his eyes he was leaning towards me and was trying to kiss me.
'Something is terribly wrong. I can't kiss him like this. Not here, not now.' Before I knew it, I found my voice and said, "Severus, stop. I can't do this. Not right now and not here. I'm so sorry." With that, I turned around and walked away into the Great Hall. I left Severus standing there rendered speechless.
After lunch, before afternoon classes began, I sat in my classroom thinking. My mind kept seeing Severus' face when we bumped into each other in the corridor. It was odd because he has never acted that way before. He wouldn't usually give in to temptation in front of his students. Especially not in a corridor filled with curious and nosey students. Severus Snape had a reputation to maintain and I was not going to be the reason why every student doesn't have a fear of him anymore. They need to fear him, due to the fact that it's an encouragement to do their best so they won't fail. By succeeding in his class, they won't have a fear of anything else. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear the knock at me door. When it was loud enough, I was brought back to reality. The door opened slightly and I heard a voice say, "Excuse me, Professor Virtue."
"Come in."
"Um, professor? I was…uh…wondering if I could ask you something?"
It was then I looked up to find Daniel Malfoy standing in front of my desk. He seemed nervous about something. He kept moving his hands and then finally stuck them into the pockets of his robe. I stared at him for a minute, then said,
"What can I help you with, Daniel?"
"Well…I...uh…I was wondering if you could help me on the telepathy lessons," he stammered.
"Sure. I am always free after dinner. When would you like to start?"
"Could we start tonight? Unless you are too busy."
I could sense that Daniel was feeling a little uneasy about asking me for help. He kept mumbling to himself and rambling on about things that were incomprehensible. I couldn't bare to see him like this.
"Of course. Meet me here, in the classroom, right after dinner. I'll be here as soon as I get out of the Great Hall."
I thought I could almost hear his heart pounding. He was thinking something and I just barely caught the end of it, 'WOW! I have a date with my teacher tonight. I hope I don't act like an ass again as I am now.'
He then stopped his thoughts and said aloud, "Thanks, professor. I'll see you tonight."
"See you in class, Daniel." And with that he was gone.

A/N: As I said before, I am really sorry about the wait. I was moving recently and haven't had the chance to get online. Besides I had a really bad writer's block before I could finish the chapter. So that made things even harder. I am currently working on chapter 6 and should have it up soon. Oh and for readers under the age of 16, please don't read chapter 6. It has sexual content that is very detailed...Please R&R
