The Confession

"Watch out!" Li pushed Sakura out of the way of the flaming fireball.

Sakura got up off the floor. "Thank you, Li," she said.

Tomoyo and Meilin rounded the corner. Something was hurling fireballs at Sakura and Li in an alley.

The flaming thing slowly took human shape.

Meilin decided to open her mouth and say something. "Li, what's going on?"

"He's…trying…to kill us!" Sakura panted. (A/N: Duh…)

The human form kept throwing fireballs at Sakura.

Meilin turned towards Li. "Aren't you going to do something?"

"What do you mean?"

"Dude, we know you love Sakura."

"You can't hide it, Li," Tomoyo said. They noticed Li covering his ears and staring at the ground. He was blushing.

Meilin smiled teasingly. "You're as red as a beet. Why don't you just tell her?"

Li blushed an even deeper red (if that was possible) and yelled. "It's my life, okay? Stay out of it! Mind your own agenda."

"She'll find out," Tomoyo said quietly.

"I'll tell her," said Meilin.

"No!"

"Aah!" Sakura dodged yet another fireball.

"I'll give you a chance," the flaming human said. "You roll a die. If you roll four or more, you live! If not, you know what happens." He tossed Li a die.

Tomoyo, Meilin, and Sakura crossed their fingers and hoped for the best.

Li rolled the die and it landed on a two.

"Oh, no!" Sakura yelled.

"Oh, no!" said Tomoyo.

"Oh, no!" Meilin exclaimed.

Li stared in mute horror.

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

He dashed to Sakura. "I have to tell you something!" he panted. He was sweating, blushing, and crying.

"What is it?"

"I-I-Well, I-I-" he sighed.

"What?"

"I-I-"

"Come on, tell me!" Sakura frowned.

"I love you!" he confessed, with tears jumping out of his eyes.

The angry expression vanished off of Sakura's face! It was replaced by a look of complete and utter shock.

Suddenly an arrow tore through Li's chest. He grabbed Sakura's hands.

"I wanted to change the world, but at least I changed your life," he said. He leaned forward and whispered into her ear. "This is my will, " he said, and kissed her. Then he went limp in her arms. Blood dripped off his body onto the ground.

Sakura sobbed into his jacket. "Don't die!" she said. "I love you, too!" she looked up with a determined expression crossing her visage. "We must get him to a hospital."
