Hermione looked up from her book as she heard the common room door open. "Harry!" she said happily. "What took you so long?"
I had to speak with Dumbledore. I'll tell you about it later." Harry slid onto the armchair Hermione was currently occupying, forcing him to be pressed right up against her. She maneuvered herself so she was sitting on his lap, with her head resting on his chest, and went back to her book. "What are you reading, Mione?" Harry asked.
"Must you even ask?" Ron said, looking up from his game of chess with Ginny.
"Oh…" said Harry. "Hogwarts; A History?" he asked.
Hermione nudged Harry and gave Ron a menacing look. Harry just laughed and pulled the book from his girlfriends hands. "Hey!" she cried. Harry slipped the bookmark between the pages and set the book on the floor. Hermione reached for the book, but Harry was faster. He took her reaching hand in his, and held it. She relaxed, and he let go of her hand. He put his hand under her chin, and pushed her face up towards his. He slowly lowered his lips to hers.
"Ok, take it upstairs," said Ron, annoyance clear in his voice.
Harry slid his hand under Hermione's knees, and his other behind her back. He stood up and carried her upstairs.
Ron rolled his eyes. Ginny laughed. "They're cute together," she said.
Hermione was curled up on the arm chair facing towards Harry who was lying stretched out on his bed.
"So what did Dumbledore want to talk to you about?" she asked.
"Well…for one thing, Lavender is a seer," Harry started.
Hermione absorbed this for a moment and said "Did she make a prophesy?" Harry nodded slowly. "What did it say?" Hermione asked quickly.
Harry recited the prophesy, which he had made sure to remember, just in case.
"So…Ginny and Malfoy are going to join together to help you beat Voldemort.?" Hermione asked quietly.
"That's what we think," replied Harry.
"And Sirius is coming back…wait. The creators of the phoenix. But…that would be your parents. Your parents are going to come back?" Hermione asked, excitement growing in her voice as she spoke. The a sudden look of realization crossed her face. She pulled her neatly folded map from her pocket, opened it up, and looked over it. "I'm going to the library," she said. "Come join me after lunch." She jumped up, kissed him, and ran out the door.
"So…after you kill You-Know-Who, your parents are coming back?" Ron asked. Harry nodded. "And after she said that, she ran off to the library. Trust her to go to the library instead of lunch. Any idea what she was thinking."
"Don't be stupid, Ron. Nobody knows what she's thinking, even if she tries to explain it to you." Ron laughed.
"You guys! That's mean," said Ginny, clearly annoyed. Ron shook his head.
They were walking to the library after lunch to join Hermione. Harry had told Ron and Ginny about the prophesy.
"You guys can't tell your mum. She'll be really worried about Gin."
Ron nodded. "So what does Dumbledore think she's going to have to do?" he asked.
"He has no idea. All we know is she has to help Malfoy." Harry glanced at Ginny has he said this. She was blushing lightly, but Ron didn't notice.
"So do you think you'll meet your parents, Harry?" Ginny asked, changing the subject.
"Well…Dumbledore told me not to get my hopes up, but I really can't help it," Harry replied.
"I home so too," she said quietly.
At this point they finally reached the library. It was about half the size of the Hogwarts library, but it looked much newer. There were shelves lined with books right across the room. The shelves were a dark red colour wood. Harry couldn't see Hermione from where he was, so he started to look down the isles.
"She's here," Harry heard Ginny call from a few isles over. Harry walked over to the isle he heard her voice from. He found Ginny standing over Hermione, who was sitting on the floor with a book.
She glanced up from her book. "Harry," she said excitedly. "Your parents will come back when Voldemort dies. It's ancient magic!"
"What? How do you know?" asked Harry excitedly.
"It says here, when a dark lord is defeated, the one who caused his downfall will have his life restored to the way it would have been had the dark lord never existed."
"Wow," said Harry quietly, after a few moments.
