disclaimer: I don't own Fullmetal Alchemist at all. Or Harvest Moon. I only own the plot.
The line "My cow gave birth!" was actually my friend's. Go check her stuff out at www(dot)fanfiction(dot)net(u)765127(slash). Her username is white wolfox. :). We were both playing Harvest Moon and on the phone when her cow gave birth and she said something very similar to that line.
author's note: Harvest Moon console game where you take the role of a farmer and have to run a farm alone or with someone else's help, depending on which game in the series you are playing.
Something's wrong with Roy Mustang
Something was wrong with Roy Mustang. Something was definately wrong with the man. Not only had he willingly signed every single document Hawkeye had placed on his desk, he had even gone as far as to ask Hawkeye if there was more paperwork to be done. To add to the queerness, Mustang had been the first person to enter the office, something Hawkeye had never encountered in all her years of working for the man.
Riza Hawkeye was an observant woman. However, it did not take much observing to notice that something was very wrong with the Colonel. Roy Mustang hated paperwork, hated it with a passion. Yet, he had stopped by her desk a short while ago to ask if there was anymore paperwork he could get done. As she could not disobey her superior, she handed over all the paperwork she had with her, including those that she had intended to hand to him later that day.
Part of Hawkeye wanted to go and ask Mustang if he was feeling well and the other part was pleased at the fact that the man had finally come to his senses with regard to paperwork and actually took the effort to do the required paperwork. She decided to leave Mustang be for the moment. Besides, didn't she have other more pressing matters to attend to.
The next queer incident came after lunch time. Roy Mustang had not been seen anywhere in the cafetaria or the staff toilets. Mustang would never miss a chance to get out of the office and today he had done just the oppersite.
"My cow gave birth!" Everybody looked up in surprise to see Roy Mustang standing at the office door with a huge smile on his face. That was it. Hawkeye decided, she was going to question the man.
"Sir, pardon my asking, but is there a reason for your behavior today?" Hawkeye asked as she stood before Mustang's desk. The man simply smiled and help up a small silver device.
"This," Mustang explained,"is called a Gameboy Advance. You can play games on it. Currently, I'm playing a game called Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. It's a game where you take the role of a farmer and well, farm the land." Everybody's eyes were twice the size they originally were when Mustang was done explaining.
Suddenly, the door of the office was kicked open and Edward Elric walked in.
"Edward, do you have any idea as to what has gone wrong with the Colonel?" Hawkeye asked.
"What's wrong with him?" Edward asked, a surprised look on his face.
"It's that thing. He's been at it the whole day and he asked for more paperwork earlier." Havoc replied.
"Oh that," Edward said, producing a similar object to the one Mustang had, only that his was red, "it's all the rage nowadays."
Everyone in the room, with the exception of Edward and Mustang, blinked a few times. Hawkeye nodded thoughtfully, she remembered seeing some children playing with a similar device a number of times.
"Oh yes, Mustang. I got the game you wanted." Edward walked over to Mustang's table and placed a small box down and then left the room.
Hawkeye walked over and picked up said box. She almost had a heart attack when she saw what was written on the box.
There, as plain as day, was written Fullmetal Alchemist: Sonata of Memory.
