I do not own Harry Potter. I am not making any money from this story. That done…on with the story!

Of Owls and Wolves

On August 1st 1971 at precisely 6.30am a barn owl appeared on Fairview streets street sign, its head searching for something. That something was Sundance manor, home to a family of witches and wizards.

Upon finding the large townhouse, the owl set off, with the hopes of finding a certain young witch. The owl shot down a chimney and arrived in the bedroom of an eleven year old girl. Hooting loudly, the owl lightly pecked her face until her eyes opened and then it flew off, leaving behind a letter, and here begins our tale.

An eleven year old girl with deep red hair and chocolate brown eyes awoke to find an owl flying out of her bedroom chimney. Scanning the room she saw what she was looking for, a letter with emerald green writing and a certain crest sealing it closed. Upon finding it she jumped out of bed, grabbed the letter, and headed out of her room to find her parents.

"Mum! Dad! Look, a letter from Hogwarts!" She yelled as she entered the kitchen. Her mother, Margaret, looked up from reading the daily prophet and, with a frown, replied with a note of sarcasm in her voice "open it then."

The young witch sat down at the table and carefully broke the seal and pulled out a piece of parchment. Clearing her voice she read:

"Dear Miss Sundance,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry. Enclosed you will find a list of all the necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on the 1st September. We await your owl by now later than August the 10th.

Yours Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Deputy Headmistress"

Margaret Sundance looked at her eleven year old daughter and saw the hope and eagerness in her eyes. With a sigh she said "better send an owl then."

As her daughter ran off to find her dad, Margaret thought to herself, 'Hogwarts beware: Wolfie Sundance is coming to Hogwarts'
