Arthur and the Red Ketchup
This was written by Hannah (that's me) and my friend Leah when we were really, really bored and really, REALLY hyper.
I do not own Arthur. Arthur is the work of the great Marc Brown bows to Marc Brown.
One day, Arthur was walking to the Sugar Bowl when he saw the most amazing sight. He couldn't believe his eyes, it was ketchup. He had never seen this substance before, because his parents didn't believe in tomatoes. He went to Buster's house to tell him about ketchup.
"Buster! Buster! Guess what I found! It's some form of fish sauce!" They both stared at it for a few minutes. "How do you think it got here?"
"Dude," Buster said, "It's just ketchup."
"You mean it has a name?" Arthur was amazed.
"Um… Yeah. You put it on French fries," Buster told him.
"Aren't you amazed?" Arthur asked.
"Not really," Buster said.
"Fine! I'll go show Francine!" Arthur exclaimed and stormed off.
As Arthur got to Francine's, he just got madder at Buster. This wasn't just any ketchup, it was RED ketchup. Arthur knocked on the door.
"Hi, Arthur. What's that?" Francine was stunned by this new product.
"It's RED ketchup!" Arthur was very proud of his discovery.
"Wow! What does it do?" Francine asked.
"Buster says you put it on French fries," Arthur said.
"Buster thought that there was air on the moon and that aliens live on it," Francine pointed out.
"Yeah, he's not very smart. What do you think it does?" Arthur asked.
"I don't know," Francine said sadly.
Just then, Molly, one of the tough customers, came walking over to them.
"Hey losers! Whatcha got there? Maybe I should steal…" Molly then realized that it was ketchup. She was deathly allergic to tomatoes and ran away crying for her mommy.
Arthur and Francine saw this as some sort of weapon. They had the ultimate power: KETCHUP!
They stared in awe forever. Francine then noticed that there was a cap.
"Whoa! It's a cap!" Francine said.
"Yeah, so? What's so special about a cap? We have ketchup!" Arthur told her.
"Yeah but if we open the lid, we can get the ketchup out," Francine wanted to see it.
"Okay, we will, but be careful," Arthur was scared.
They opened the lid and they cautiously stuck their fingers in it. Then they smeared it all over their faces. They were now just as powerful as ketchup.
They decided to walk over to Muffy's house. They had to tell Muffy about the power of ketchup.
"Eeeeeewwww! What is that on your faces?" Muffy screamed as soon as she saw them.
"Its ketchup," Arthur and Francine said at the same time.
"Um… okay. Just don't get it on the carpet, or the walls, or my hair, or my clothes, or…" Muffy continued to ramble on as Francine and Arthur left to go home.
When Arthur walked in the front door, his parents were shocked.
"How could you go against everything we believe in?" his dad asked him.
"But it has POWER!" Arthur explained.
"Yes, EVIL power!" his mom told him.
"I'm sorry, but you are now possessed by Satan and we will have to sell you to the satanic circus," said Dad.
Arthur spent the rest of his life trying to prove that ketchup was not a condiment to the world.
