Time Wanderer

She fought and she fought and she tried, but trying wasn't enough, never enough.

They were dead, all dead, and she was hurt and alone and alive.

She knew it would happen, she knew it even back then, when she was happy and not alone.

I can change the future, she used to say, I can change it and build it and make it better if I know of it.

She had told herself it would happen, way back then, but she had taken a chance and it didn't work.

They were dead, they were all dead, because of a plan that was doomed from the beginning and the guilt was too much, way too much.

She knew what she had to do, she remembered it, and she didn't want to but she had to.

It was time, the circle would be complete, she was prepared for it and she wasn't, not at all.

She was changing, her mind and body were changing, but she knew it was for the best.

It felt strange, being like that again, remembering being like that once before but not remembering from herself, and it was strange and weird but it was alright.

She ran, she ran away from death and it tried to catch her but she was too fast, too small.

Everything and anything and nothing swirled around her, but she knew when to go and kept flying.

She landed and she saw the playground and the woman and she knew, she knew she had done it.

Hoping to make everything better this time was useless, she knew, but she had always liked pretending and it came to her easily.

She walked and she went in and she saw herself and she smiled and she was home.
