Machika looked at Rain; he was distracted...as always. She sighed and looked back down at her feet.

'Hey' she thought to herself 'why do I care if he's not talking to me?'

'Oh, you know the answer to that,' answered another part of her brain.

'No, I don't' she informed herself primly.

'Suit yourself' said the troublesome, however honest part of her 'Honestly, you're so stubborn sometimes'

"NOW MY OWN HEAD IS CALLING ME STUBBORN!' she thought to herself angrily, as if she didn't have enough issues.

'Yep' it answered 'and you can't hit me upside the head either'

'JUST ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!' she demanded, once again to herself.

'O-Kay' answered the annoyingly wise part of her brain, 'but you are NOT going to like the answer'

'JUST TELL ME!'

'Okay' it said, Machika could have sworn that if that part of her could take a body it would be smirking right now 'you love him'

'WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT ANSWER IS THAT?'

'I told you that you wouldn't like it'

'Oh, come on' she demanded 'I can't even LIKE him; I'm going to kill him'

'You just keep telling yourself that'

'SHUT UP!'

'You love him' it taunted her mercilessly ' a lot. And you can't even admit it'

'I DO NOT!'

'Do too'

'I'M NOT LISTENING!'

With out even realizing it, Machika had stuck her fingers in her ears and was now running around in circles screaming "I'm not listening, I'm not listening!"

Rain just looked at her, perplexed. You would have thought that in six-hundred years he would have figured put human-kind in general. Alas, they were so unpredictable. Especially the one that had taken to following him around recently. They were almost, dare he admit it, friends yet she kept insisting she was going to kill him. That certainly put a damper on their friendship, if that's what it could be called that. Funny, really, neither understood the other yet they still grew close. 'People' he thought, resigned 'You can never understand them. Love them, yes, but never understand them' You'd have thought that six-hundred ears would be enough to figure them out, but no. Not even six million years, Rain shuddered, he hoped to God he wouldn't still be alive then, would help him understand people, especially his Grim Reaper. He looked at the girl, still running around in circles and bellowing at what appeared to be herself. He shrugged; better that than him. He had learned to at least TRY no to make Machika angry, but he was failing dismally. At least this human was interesting, besides that kind of fighting spirit was the exact kind of thing human-kind needed in the difficult times to come.

In her circle-running frenzy Machika ran strait into Rain, bowling him over.

"Something I can help you with?" he inquired, the picture of innocence.

Machika was caught somewhere between a blush and a glare, but instead of reacting violently she just shook her head. Quite odd behavior.

"Are you feeling okay?" he asked, pressing his hand to her forehead.

"Can I not pummel you for once and still be healthy!" she said, cuffing him upside the head.

"Of course not" he said and they continued walking, a completely normal day coming to a completely normal end, at least by Rain's and Machika's standards. Which were really quite low.

A/N- sorry, this doesn't have a plot yet. I just wanted to see if there was an Immortal Rain categorey.
