Author's Notes: The song is by Kelly Clarkson. I originally put this up a few weeks ago, but then took it down because I didn't have time to extend it. I'm not going to. This will now stay a one-shot. Please read my other fics if you get the chance.
Disclaimer: This song belongs to Kelly Clarkson. I don't own it, and I don't own KP. If I did, it would have more then 65 episodes.
On a rainy June night, Kim Possible walked through the cemetery, her red hair waving in the wind. "Just the kind of night Ron liked…" she thought, but she shook she thought off.
She was mad at him, and mad at God for taking him. She was glad the driver was dead; it was his fault anyway. How she remembered the night when he asked her to the Valentine's Dance. It was the night he told her the truth, that he loved her and wanted to be more than friends. She agreed on one condition.
"Promise you'll never leave me, promise you'll always be here."
And he said yes. "But you didn't keep your promise," she thought bitterly.
Here's the thing the thing
We started out friends
It was cool, but it was all pretend
Yeah yeah
Since you been goneYou're dedicated, you took the time
Wasn't long 'til I called you mine
Yeah yeah
Since you been gone
But that's exactly what he did. He was on the sidewalk, walking to her house on a summer's evening. But he didn't see the truck coming toward him. The drunk driver plowed into him.
"It's been terrible since you left me. Why, Ron, why?" she screamed.
And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I picture me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say
But since you been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get what I want
Since you been gone
He acted like he loved her, made up songs and made her laugh. He acted like he was positive that he would be there. They had been together for almost a year when the accident ruined everything.
"If only I was there…"How can I put it, you put me on
I even fell for that stupid love song
Yeah yeah
Since you been gone
How come I'd never hear you say
I just wanna be with be with you
Guess you never felt that way
He gave her roses for her seventeenth birthday, a beautiful arrangement of pink roses with a single red rose in the middle.
"You're the red rose in my life," he whispered as she kissed him.
"If I was so important, why did you leave? Why can't I move on?"
But since you been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get, I get what I want
Since you been gone
Now she remembered the doctor's words: "I'm sorry; it was too late."
"Too late for our love."
You had your chance, you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth I just can't take it
Again, and again, and again, and again...
His promise kept rolling around in her head.
Since you been gone (since you been gone)
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get, I get what I want
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you), now I get (I get)
You should know (you should know)
That I get
I get what I want
Since you been gone
Since you been gone
Since you been gone
She placed flowers on the freshly dug grave; a bouquet of pink roses with one red one in the center.
