Darkness and Light
Darkly hinting bolder schemes,
The Battosai beckons, haunting dreams.
His blade severs every thread
Of sinew, muscle, the spine of a head.
Amber eyes strike the deepest fear,
While his auburn locks seem to sear.
That Demon's Son, though has gone,
And Japan will no more run.
Laughing, joking amethyst eyes,
Catch the sun and happily surprise.
A peaceable Rurouni wanders far,
His home a road, his guide a star.
This gentle man, with rich red hair,
Soothes old wounds, determines fair.
At his side, a fighter and a boy,
A naïve swordswoman, and a Kitsune quite coy.
Battosai and Rurouni, Rurouni and Battosai,
One will always see, one will never die.
Which will triumph, who will say,
One born of darkness, one of day.
Two shifting souls, one gleaming sword,
Two idiot knights fighting over a dragon's hoard.
A princess, a lady, a warrior true,
The brave and beautiful, Kamiya Kaoru.
