Klaus coolly sat at the cafeteria table. Lunch had begun two minutes ago and the Quagmires were nowhere in site. Violet was helping Sunny eat the peanut butter crackers that were being served as lunch when Klaus noticed the triplets standing in a really long lunch line. As soon as Isadora headed his way, Klaus could feel his cheeks turn a bright shade of crimson.
"Hi Isadora." Klaus's voice cracked as he greeted his friends. "Hey Duncan," Klaus added in a normal tone.
"Hey Klaus," Isadora's ivory cheeks turned a rosy pink.
The children ate their lunch, chatting idly about the painfully boring concerts of Nero. Klaus and Isadora kept looking at each other, averting their eyes as soon as the other noticed.
Klaus tossed and turned all night, all the while having a pleasant dream.
Klaus found himself in a huge library. Leaving the section about Lions, he entered the Literature isle. He stopped short… seeing Isadora in a stunning black dress, writing in her notebook. She looked up and their eyes met. He reached out his arms and she reached out hers. Their fingers almost touching…
Klaus jolted up. He enjoyed thinking about Isadora, but couldn't help feeling guilty when she crossed his mind. He just had to tell her.
On the way to Mrs. Bass's metric lessons, Klaus pulled Isadora aside.
"Isadora, I have this feeling inside me that I think its—" Klaus was cut off.
"Love." Isadora finished for him.
"Yeah." Nervously, he picked up his hand and used it pull Isadora close to him. Closing his eyes, he felt Isadora's lips touch his. Butterflies flew in both stomachs, sending a tingling session to their lips. Pulling out, Klaus smiled at the beautiful girl he had just had a connection with.
Hand in hand, the orphans entered Mrs. Bass's class, all smiles. Now when Klaus daydreamed about being with Isadora, he didn't feel so guilty anymore.
