Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers. Only my OCs.

I've had a couple of people ask me about this and I thought I would try to write it down. This first chapter is an epic first meeting of Zoey and Jenna. I'm going to be writing other past scenes that Ranger fans will recognize. Trying something new. I'm going to be starting a new poll before I move to the next chapter of Continuing the Legacy. Don't forget to vote!

Chapter 1: Friends at First Sight

"This town is a a lot bigger than our previous town." A teenage boy in a green tank top and black pants was walking down the streets, looking around, "I mean, this place is huge."

"I still don't understand why we had to leave all of our friends." A young girl about 9 grumbled as she walked next to her brother, "It's not fair."

The older boy sighed and dropped his black bag, "Zoey," he squatted down, "dad got a transfer. It's a great job opportunity for him. It means more money, a bigger house and a chance for us to be closer to Uncle Josh. I know you're missing your friends, but this is a whole new adventure for us."

Zoey sighed, "I know, Tommy, but I just started training for my Junior Black Belt. What if I can't get it here?"

"Which one?" He laughed as she wrinkled her nose at him, "Kidding. Look, we did the research. There's martial arts training here. I mean, that's where we're going now, right? Let's wait and see if we can get you in to be certified. We have a year to get you that belt, okay?"

"Okay." She smiled, "Well, come on then, bro. It's time to get you another win."

1-2-3-4-5

"Look at this place." Zoey commented as they walked into the Angel Grove Youth Center and Juice Bar, "It's packed."

"I wonder if it's always this full." Tommy smiled as he pointed to a table off to the side, "I need to go sign in. Come on."

Zoey stood to the side as her brother signed in for the competition. "Hi." She looked over at the greeting to see another girl her age with brown hair and a big smile, "You're new, aren't you?"

"Yeah, just transferred. I'll be starting on Monday."

"What grade?"

"Fourth."

"Cool. That's my grade." The girl extended her hand, "I'm Jenna Scott."

"Zoey Oliver. Pleased to meet you." They shook hands, feeling like fast friends already, "Are you here to just watch?"

"I'm here rooting for my brother. He's signed up for the teen one-on-one. He was told he's only going to be going against one other, so he's probably gonna win. He always wins." She rolled her eyes.

"The one-on-one?" Zoey chuckled, "Well, I can't wait to watch that. I've got to go, my own brother is waving me over. I'll keep watch for your brother, okay?"

"Okay. Thanks."

Zoey was smiling by the time she got to the other side of the center, "You look happy. What happened?"

"Just made my first friend."

"Really? Same grade?"

"Yes. At least I'll know someone at school tomorrow."

"That's good to hear. Now," he started stretching, "I need to warm up before my match. I'm up after the weapon demos."

1-2-3-4-5

"Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to the Angel Grove Martial Arts Expo!"

Jenna watched the weapons display while her brother got ready for his match. "All right, now, Jase, remember: keep positive and concentrate on your moves." She looked over as her brother's friend's started encouraging him.

"Yeah, focus your mind as well as your body."

"Thank guys, but, uh, it looks like I'm going to need all the help I can get." Jenna frowned at that, He's always so positive. What's different? She looked in the direction he pointed in surprise.

A guy in a green tank top, matching headband and black pants was warming up on the other side of the center. He was doing some very impressive moves; jumping into three consecutive flying tornado kicks is difficult. The girl she met earlier was standing beside him, holding a towel and water bottle.

"Man, that dude is pumped." Understatement, Zach, "Who is he?"

"Obviously someone new as nobody seems to know who he is." Jenna muttered, backing away as her both sent a playful punch in her direction, "What?"

"He is really cute." Jenna rolled her eyes at Kim's obvious attraction.

"Of course she does." She muttered, stepping back more, "Because that's all cutesy valley-girls think about."

"Coming up next, a karate competition featuring Angel Grove's finest and a new challenger."

"Finest?" Jenna smirked at her brother, "Really? I mean, in the teen division, maybe, but in the whole town…" she rolled her eyes, "I don't buy it."

"You know, you're becoming more and more a brat every day." Jason wrapped his arm around the neck and gave her a knuckle sandwich, "Why can't you just root for me like my friends do?"

"Because I'm your sister and it's my job to annoy you." She looked up at him, inquiring, "Isn't that what I'm supposed to do?"

"She's got you there, man." Zack laughed as he pulled the girl out of her brother's arms, "Now, go win this match and make her eat her words."

1-2-3-4-5

Zoey stood to the side as she watched her brother's match against another teen in a red tank. He's really good. They've already tied.

She looked past and saw Jenna on the sidelines rooting for him. That must be her brother. She looked back over as Tommy did three tornado kicks and Jason getting the point. Come on, bro. Those things are cool and all, but they're too showy. She stood back cheering as her brother got two more points. Yes! Come on. Focus, 30 seconds to go. She watched the seconds go down as Jason slowly got two more points right before the time went out. A tie! Jeez. She smiled, shaking her head as her brother headed back over to her.

"You know, those flying tornado kicks should only be used in a demonstration, not in a match where it gives your opponent a chance to get a point."

"I know. I can't help it."

"Could you help it when he did his own tornado kick and you just stood there when he got the point?" She smirked, laughing as he threw his towel at her.

"You know, you're becoming a brat more and more every day."

"And you wouldn't change me for the world, would you?"

"Not even close. Come on shorty. Let's get my stuff together and I'll buy you lunch."

"You don't want to grab a shower?"

"I'll get one at home. Mom and dad will be back later tonight with the rest of our stuff and we need to get our rooms straightened out before they get home. So," he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "Let's see if this place sells pizza and go home. Okay?"

"Yeah." She smiled as they picked up his stuff, "Ninja marathon while we work?"

"That's my girl."

1-2-3-4-5

"All right. Do you have everything?"

"Yes."

"Money for lunch?"

"Yes."

"Your locker info?"

"Yes."

"You're…"

"Mom?" Zoey looked up, "It's okay. I've got this."

"I know, sweetheart, I know." Elizabeth Oliver fidgeted as she tugged at her daughter's clothes, "It's just, this is your first new school, ever. You're away from all of your friends, dealing with the move and a new town. I know it's been hard on you the most and I just worry."

"It's okay, mom. Tommy helped me with my worries and we spent last night getting settled." She reached over and hugged her mother, "I can handle this. I'm sorry for the way I acted with the move and I promise to have fun with this new adventure that life has thrown at us."

"Wow." The older woman looked down in awe, "Tommy really is rubbing off on you. Next thing you know, you'll be doing your own tornado kicks."

Laughing, Zoey smirked, "Mom, Tommy has been teaching me karate since you adopted me. I'm a year away from my Junior Black Belt. I can already do a standing tornado kick. I learned from the best."

"That you have." They hugged one more time, "Okay. Enjoy yourself. Behave for your teachers and don't miss the bus. Love you. Make lots of friends."

"Yes ma'am."

After her mom left, Zoey walked to her locker to get it set up, "Jenna!" She around to see the girl from yesterday storming away from blonde in hot pink legging, a white tank with a pink splatter, denim vest, pink belt, pink doc martens, and a lot of pink accessories. "Will you stop!"

The girls halted in the middle of the hall, the rest of the students watching, "Why should I? I warned you that I don't tolerate the way you talk to people. I warned you that I was getting sick of your attitude. I warned you to quit speaking to me like I was your underling. You shoving Tandy into her locker was the last straw. I don't need you as my friend. I don't need toxic rudeness around me everyday. I promise you, there are plenty of people in this school for me to make my new best friend. If you could even call us that. Just because our mom's are friends, doesn't mean we need to be. So, until you change your attitude and the way you treat people, stay away from me."

"How dare you talk to me that way?" That blonde huffed as Jenna turned away. Zoey saw her bunch up her fist and got to them just as she grabbed the brunette's shoulder, and shoved the blonde's arm away, "What?"

"Attacking someone from behind is really bad form." Zoey stepped up, "Now, she said her peace, and has decided to step away from a bad situation. You were seconds away from escalating it and I promise you," her glared intensified, "I would have de-escalated it. Quickly. And you wouldn't have liked it. At all."

The girl jerked away from her, suddenly scared, "Just who do you think you are? You don't have the right to talk to me, much less touch me."

"Zoey, right?" Jenna stepped up, smiling, "That was your brother in the green?"

"Yeah, it was." Zoey stepped around the still glaring blonde and greeted her new friend, "I can't remember the last time Tommy has tied with anyone. I'm impressed."

"Me too. I picked on Jason about the whole thing. Getting out of bounds." She rolled her eyes, "Honestly. He's better than that."

"Yeah, well, I reamed Tommy about those tornado kicks. It gave Jason the opening he needed for that point. Do you practice?"

"Since I was three. My brother taught me."

"Mine too! He was adamant that I learn how to defend myself. Not to mention, and I'm quoting, 'I refuse to have conversations about ballet and bow ties with my little sister. I need to be able to talk to her sensibly.' Typical boy."

"That sounds like mine."

"Excuse me!" They turned around to realize that they were being stared at by everyone in the hallway, "What just happened here?" The blonde looked around, confused, "Someone please explain to me what just freaking happened."

"Well, Mitzy," a kid with a basketball smirked, "looks like you just got put in your placed, and replaced, all at the same time."

She scoffed, "I don't think so." She stepped toward Zoey, "Do you have any idea who I am? Who my family is?"

"I don't care." Zoey shook her head, "I don't tolerate bullies and that's exactly what you are. Your family name means nothing to me. So," she turned back toward Jenna, "I have homeroom with Ms. Tucker. Can you show me where I can find it?"

"That's my homeroom, too. Let's go." The two girls took off down the hallway, ignoring the fuming blonde behind them.

1-2-3-4-5

"Are you sure?" Zoey held up the OK sign to Jenna and smiled, "Okay, I'll just wait there until you get off work. Maybe big brother will show up. Apparently, everybody goes there after school. Food, practice, doing homework and just to hang out." She paused for a moment to listen.

"Alright. I'm going to call ahead and talk to the owner. You behave yourself and don't leave until your dad, your brother or I pick you up. Understand?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Good. I love you. See you later."

"Love you too. Thanks."

Zoey hung up the school phone and turned to her new friend, "We're a go!"

"Yes!" They high-fived, "I know you were there yesterday, but nothing was really set-up for regular use. They have gymnastics beam, exercise mats, weight machines and arcade games. Not to mention Ernie's food and smoothies. I think you'll like it."

"I can't wait. We can work on our Social Studies project and later, you owe me a sparring session."

"No problem, but I can't spar without my brother. His strict orders."

"Mine too. That's fine. It'll give us plenty of time to work on our homework."

"I ride my bike to school, but I can walk it since you don't have yours here."

"That's cool. I'll start riding mine tomorrow. That way, we can make the Youth Center a daily thing. Gives me a place to do homework and get some exercise in before going home for the night to do chores."

"Speaking of homework, did you get the answer for question 10 on the math sheet?"

1-2-3-4-5

"Jen! Jen!" The girls looked up as four younger kids about five ran over to their table, "Let's go to the park. Mom's outside waiting."

"Oh, I'm sorry, V." Jen frowned, "I'm doing homework with my new friend. This is Zoey. Her family just moved to Angel Grove." Zoey waved at the sad looks on the other kids faces, "She got to come to the Youth Center as long as she came with someone. Plus, we're working on a Social Studies project."

"Can't she like, stay with Ernie or something?" A short haired brunette complained, "I mean, you're our cousin first."

"That's not very nice. Don't make me tell Auntie about your attitude."

"Vida?" An older woman walked over, "You were supposed to be quick in asking. Jenna, sweetheart, how are you?"

"I'm good Aunt Geneva." The two hugged for a moment before Jenna sat back down, "And they were pretty quick in asking, but I turned them down. This is Zoey." The older woman smiled down at the new girl, "Her family just moved to town. Her mom let her come to the Youth Center as long as she wasn't coming alone and we're partnered in our Social Studies class for a project. So, we're really busy. Which is what I was explaining to Vida and Maddy before you came in."

"That's the responsible thing to do. Homework comes first." She turned to the pout kids beside her, "Don't make that face, Vida. She's right in her decision. Now, let's go to the park and I'll get everyone some ice cream."

"Yes!" Three of the four kids ran out behind her, but Vida was a little slower leaving, "Just because she's made a new friend doesn't meant she has to ignore her family."

Zoey shook her and smiled, "Speaking of family, there's my mom." She stood up and waved her arm to get her mom's attention, "Hey, mom. This is Jenna."

"Nice to meet you, Jenna."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Oliver."

"What are you girls working on?"

"A Social Studies project. They paired us together in class."

"What's the topic?"

"We're currently studying different types of tribes of Native Americans. Our project is to take a tribe and talk about. We have to create a talking board, a diagram, write an essay and build a replica of their homes."

"That's very interesting. Have you decided on a tribe yet?"

"We had to come up and draw a tribe out of a bowl." Zoey held up a small piece of paper with a word on it and a 5 page pack of papers, with questions on it, "We ended up choosing the Sioux. It's so cool, listen: The Sioux tribe are known for their hunting and warrior culture. They were constantly in conflict with the White Settlers and the US Army. Warfare became the central part of the Plains of the Indian Culture. The Sioux tribe were admired for their great courage and exceptional physical strength." She looked up from the paper, "Can we go to the library before going home and check out some books on them?"

"We can." Elizabeth looked down at Jenna, "Would you like to come?"

"I have my bike. I'll read whatever Zoey picks out. My mom is an American History teacher at Angel Grove University. I think she has some books on Native American History. I'm gonna ask her about it when I get home." She started to gather up her stuff, "Are you going to start taking your bike?"

"I want to. Mom?"

"As long as this is where you go after school. Anything else has to be approved by me or father, unless you're with your brother. Which means you have to call me anytime you want to go somewhere else. Understand?"

"Deal." She looked Jenna, "I'll see you tomorrow with a list of books I was able to find."

"Make sure to bring at least two of them with you and I'll bring what I can from my mom. Don't forget the warning alarms on your way home."

"Got it."

"Warning alarms?" Elizabeth frowned, "What alarms?"

"Oh, we have alien attacks, so the government created a warning alarm to get people to run away get to shelter."

"Aliens? You're kidding, right?"

"No, she's right." A bigger guys comes over to pick up the girl's empty cups, "They started attacking about a month or so ago. The military can't stop them. We're lucky, though. I group of heroes called the Power Rangers have been the only ones to stop them."

"Cool!"

"That's not cool, Zoey!" Elizabeth admonished, "It's dangerous."

"Don't worry. The Rangers protect us." Jenna looked at, "Thanks for the smoothie Ernie. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bye Little Scott. Be safe going home."

"I will. Thanks." They walked out of the center, "Bye, Z. See you tomorrow."

"Bye."

1-2-3-4-5

Zoey was frowning into her locker when Jenna walked up to her, "Hey." No response, "Hello?" Nothing, "Zoey!"

"What?" She finally looked up, startled, "Sorry, Jenna. I'm distracted."

"What's wrong?"

"It's my brother." She closed her locker and handed over two books, "He was very cold to me last night. He never, ever, treats me that way. He always wants to know how my day went, helps me with my homework, works on karate with me or just hangs out playing video games. There's something wrong with him."

"What did your parents say about it?"

"That it's just typical teenage hormones and he's reacting to the move." She threw up her hands, "That's so stupid! He was excited about the move. I was the one upset about it. He's the one who helped me over my nerves about it. Tommy is one of the most level headed, though highly forgetful, people you will ever meet. Seriously. He's majorly health conscious, does community service, takes care of chores around the house without asking, volunteers for big brother programs and maintains a 3.5 grade point average. His discipline comes from his martial arts training. He's always saying how karate has taught him respect and given him self-confidence. There's nothing typical or moody about him."

"Honestly…" Jenna leaned in, "It could be an alien thing."

"What? What do you mean?"

"I've seen those aliens in action, okay. They can put you under spells and make you do things completely out of character. If you're brother is acting like that, it's a sure bet, that one of the aliens got to him yesterday."

"Oh my God." Zoey whispered in horror, "I need to tell my parents."

"And tell them what? That you suspect an alien has cast a spell over your brother? They'll never let you leave the house again. You saw how your mom acted. When they first showed up, my brother made promise him something. Don't interfere with the aliens. Don't even bring it up to our parents. Why? Because the first time it happened, they completely freaked out."

They came to a stop by their homeroom, "We were in the park playing volleyball and I was the ref. Next thing I know, we're surrounded by those weird gray freaks. My brother and his friends pulled me under the net and circled around me to fight off the attack. I made the mistake of telling my mom what happened and I wasn't allowed to right my bike for weeks. My brother finally convinced her to let up. Go to school, the Youth Center and home. Unless I'm with Jason, then I can go wherever. But the point is, don't bring it up. The Power Rangers will fix it. So, I say, let it ride out. Give it a few days to see if our town's heroes can break whatever spell he's under. Okay?"

"If you're sure."

"Positive. Now, lets spend the first hour going over these books."

1-2-3-4-5

A few days later, Zoey was sitting in her bedroom, doing homework, when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Looking around, she froze at the sight of her brother standing behind her, "T-t… Tommy. What's up?"

He squatted down next to her, "I owe you an apology."

Her eyes widened, "You do?"

"Yeah. I haven't really been myself lately. Don't ask me to explain it, because I can't, but I know that I've scared you and I'm sorry."

She paused for a second, then flung her arms around him, "Thank you." Her brother was back, and she couldn't be happier.

"Tell you what." He leaned back, "How about, you and me, go to the park. We can hang out, play some games, eat some ice cream…"

"Yea!"

"And afterward, mom's stipulation, we go to the Youth Center and I help you with some of your homework. The parents are going to the weekend retreat with dad's company and I promised to make sure we got all of your homework done."

"Only," she smirked, "if my big brother spars with me."

"Deal. But first," he sighed, "and I can't believe I'm willingly going to do this, we need to go to the mall."

"You?" She looked at him incredulously, "At the mall?"

"Mom gave me a list of things she needs me to pick up, since they'll be gone all weekend. Unfortunately, dad overheard and gave me a list of his own."

They shared a grimace, as they both hate the mall more than anything.

"Great."

1-2-3-4-5

"Hey, Z!" Jenna rushed over and put her bags down, "Ready to get started?"

"Oh, yeah. But first," Zoey leaned over, glancing discreetly around the Youth Center, "you were right."

"Huh?"

"My brother. He came into my bedroom yesterday and apologized. Our parents are on some business weekend retreat, so we spent some time in the park and had to go to the mall for our parents." She paused, "Can you keep a secret?"

"For you? Anything."

"Look at this." Zoey pulls out a newspaper scrapbook that she started, "Tommy dropped me off at the library this morning to work on my project; said he had something he had to do. I ended pulling every article that's ever been written about the Power Rangers."

"What for?"

"My brother has always been like any normal teenager when it came to clothes. If it looked good and it fits, he wore it. He didn't have a color preference. But, since we came to Angel Grove, you know, during the whole spell fiasco, he's been wearing a whole lot of green. An excess amount of it."

"So?"

"Okay, now don't freak out," She saw Jenna's brother and his friends come in and go to the juice bar, "Your brother and his friends. Do they always wear those colors?"

"No." Jenna paused, "Wait… yes. It started around the same time as the alien attacks. I never really thought about it."

"I bet a lot of people haven't." She looked around, "The Ranger colors are Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink and Black. Right?"

"Right." Jenna looked back at her brother, "You don't think…"

"They wear the same colors. Everyday." She grinned, "Now, my brother and I move here, and he's put under some weird spell that makes him act like the King of Jerks. At the same time, an Evil Green Ranger shows up and starts attacking the other Rangers. Now, the spell on my brother is gone and the Green Ranger is good and helping the other Rangers."

"Coincidence?" The two shared a look, "Nah."

"Okay, well, let's not say anything to them. I want to document everything in the book. Will you help?"

"Like, a secret between just us? Like a personal diary?"

"Yes."

"I'm in."

"Hey girls." Jason came over, "Whatcha working on?"

Zoey had discreetly closed her scrapbook and shoved it in her bag, "Just our Sioux project. Waiting on my brother to come pick me up."

"Okay, well, Zack and I are going to spar. Jenna, stay up here where I can see you, okay?"

"Okay." Jenna leaned into Zoey when he walked away, "I am definitely going to be adding to the book." She paused, "You know, I'm glad we met. I feel like I've met my new best friend. We have so much in common, it's crazy."

"I know. I feel it too. You know that phrase, 'Love at first sight'? Well, we're 'Friends at first sight'."

"Best friends."
