Truly, there is no other place so quiet and peaceful as in the nation of Lowee. The capital is bustling with activity, but there is not as much noise as the capitals of the other nations, and for good reason. Lady White Heart had signed a bill into law that pushed to cut down on noise pollution as part of a wildlife preservation act.
Me? Why, I'm Kenji Hikarashi. I've been sent here by the Guild for a very important interview with one of the representatives of Lowee's Basilicom. I gently walk down the street, looking for my next destinatio-
"Hey! Sir?" I hear the voice, and turn towards it. It's a man in his 30s, and he looks nice. I sigh. "What is it?" He looks at me as I ask and replies, "Take this free bracelet!" He practically forces it on my arm. I look at him, surprised.
"Now you gotta make an offer to the goddess!" I look blankly at him, processing his request before replying, "If I wish to make an offer to Lady White Heart, I will do it through the Basilicom."
"But you can just pay me to deliver your offering!" he pressed.
"I'm not paying you squat. Now leave me alone." My voice was firm.
The man must have lost his patience, because he tried to swing at me, screaming and calling me a heretic.
I quickly knocked him out with a clock to the face. People stopped and watched. I looked at them plainly. "What? He tried to attack me in broad daylight. I was using self defense."
After calling the man a doctor, I walked away, knowing that I had to make it to the meeting...
"Big sister says that we have to be home by 7..."
"Big sister won't know... she's probably busy with her work..."
I look towards the two voices, and see two young children. Both were wearing hats. But I knew who the two children were. They were Rom and Ram, the White Sisters of Lowee. I had no clue why they were out and about by themselves...
I knew the meeting was at 6:45, but these two CPU Candidates had more priority than my mission. I followed them, staying out of their sight so as not to spook them. As I followed, I noticed that a couple of people were following them as well. I knew I was pretty short, so if I acted friendly, the twins wouldn't be freaked out.
"Hey, you two!" I greeted. Ram turned to me and sighed. "Hello, mister... Big sister told us not to talk to strangers..." I smiled. "You can trust me. I was just going to walk with you two so that you make it to where you're going without issue."
Rom looked at Ram... "Ummmm..." They both looked at me and nodded. As we walked down the sidewalk, I noticed that the guys were still following us. "Hey, have you two eaten yet?" I ask. The twins shake their heads. "No... we lost our money for food on the way here..."
"Well, there's a cafe over here that we can go grab a bite to eat at..." I quickly direct the twins into the cafe. The men are still following us. Just as I walk through the door, Rom vanishes from my side. But I hear a yelp, and in a few seconds, I have grabbed one of the men by the arm, and that man had Rom by the hair.
"Let go of that little girl right now." I ordered. "Did you hear me? Let go, or I'll break your arm. Now." The man grins, replying "You don't have the guts." He suddenly pulls on Rom's hair, making her let out a cry of pain...
"YOU BASTARD!" I cleanly break his arm, causing him to scream out in pain. And in a second, I'm slamming my fists into his face. Then I feel something slam into the back of my head and shatter... a bottle? I fall forward as I am kicked in the face. Blood splatters on the ground as I get back up. The brawl was on, and I was fighting like hell. The three men attacked me from all sides, and I was quickly able to knock out the guy that had a broken arm.. But the other two quickly began ganging up on me, and I was taking some bad hits...
"That's enough!" came a strong voice, but it was too late. I felt a dart strike my arm... it was an anti-CPU poison.. Without hesitation, I drew my sword and sliced my arm up to my elbow cleanly off. Pain shot through me... but I could handle it...
"Oh sweet Celestia..."
"Someone help that poor boy!"
I was pulled away from the scene. "Geez... you chopped your own arm off so the poison wouldn't spread to your vital organs... thay was some quick thinking." The woman's voice was quite clear. I look towards the cafe. "The twins! Are they safe?" As I said that, I heard Ram's scream... and then...
"Someone stop that monster from taking her!"
I broke out of C-Sha's grasp, and bolted towards Ram's screams.. and then I saw her being carried away by a man... and then the man drew his pistol...
"STOP!" As I said that word, time seemed to stop. I rushed forward and took Ram out of the man's grasp and ran back towards C-Sha as time seemed to resume...
"It's okay! I got you... I got you..." I repeated the sentence as I carried Ram back... she hugged me tightly.
"It was so scary!" she wailed. "I thought I-" She sobbed as I took her back to C-Sha. I look up at C-Sha. "Please... I wanna help..."
C-Sha cut me off. "You've helped enough." She looked at me with worry. "Sit down on the bench. Now." I hesitantly obeyed. She looked at my right arm. "I need a medic! Is anyone here a medic? Please, anybody... I can't stop the bleeding..." Ram quickly grabbed what was left of my right arm. "Heal." The bleeding stopped...
But the pain was still there. I looked at the part of my arm that is on the ground. It had turned red with the veins turning purple. That was the effect of the poison on the human body. Chopping off the arm was way better than suffering from the poison.
A few minutes later, the medical team showed up. But I wouldnt let them treat my wounds until everyone else was checked for injuries. But one question lingered on my mind... Where was White Heart? There was no sign of her or her massive axe anywhere.
BANG.
I was abruptly attacked by a robotic assassin robot. It's swords swung frantically as people ran for their lives.. But I held my blade in my only hand that I had left as I held the robot back, keeping it from hurting the medics. Both me and the robot struggled as I tried to hit the robot with my sword... But it suddenly thrust its dagger towards my heart...
With a quick motion, I slammed my forehead against the robot's face, crushing it's head with a single blow as I ripped of it's right arm as a trophy. The goddesses had blessed me with a swift victory. I watch as the robot crashed to the floor, devoid of activity.
It would have been quicker to dispatch the foe with my spear, but since I had not expected a battle, my bow and spear were back in my apartment. I had only carried my damascus steel katana, called Yamato, for display purposes. As I wiped down my katana with a clean cloth, there was a flash of wings as a goddess landed right next to me.
White Heart scanned the area, as she gripped her axe tightly with both hands. Her wings fluttered slightly as she saw that her sisters were both safe and sound. She rested her axe on her shoulder as she placed a hand on her waist. Her leotard proudly showed off her curves, and her body was very well toned. But when I admired her body, it was not out of lust, since I preferred to love others romantically than to just love someone through sexual desire. Not only that, I didn't really feel sexual desire.
Blanc slowly turned to me as her face was filled with worry. "Y-your arm…" I sigh in response. "A small price to pay for the safety of the twins." The white-haired goddess looked at the property damage caused by the duel between me and the assassin robot. "Looks like you took a beating." Her smile returned after she bandaged what was left of my right arm. I quickly showed Blanc the robot assassin's arm that I had torn off of its host. Blanc sighed. "Looks like you head-slammed that robot. You really gotta stop doing that before you knock a screw loose."
I leaned up against the goddess' chest. "I'm tired." Normally, Blanc would have bashed anyone who was foolish enough to even brush up against her chest, but when I laid against her, she purred almost like a kitten. She sighed. "What am I going to do with you, little dragon?" She gently placed one arm around my back and the other around the bend of my knees as she carried me. I let out a shaky "T-thank you…" before her and the twins took to the endless blue sky. White Heart sighed. "Don't mention it. You need rest."
As the three goddesses flew into the lobby of Lowee's Basilicom, a voice spoke up over the others over the radio. "The doves have returned to the nest. I repeat, the doves have returned to the nest." Blanc touched down onto the lobby floor, as she smiled at me. But a camera flash ruined the heartwarming moment between me and the goddess. C-Sha smirked as she held up a camera. "Oooh, drama." she teased. "Blanc, CPU of Lowee, spotted carrying a married man in her arms! What a scandal!" Blanc set me down. "Delete that photo right now!" she yelled, chasing C-Sha down the hall. C-Sha giggled as she kept the camera just out of reach of Blanc. But C-Sha eventually deleted the photo, and the two friends laughed together.
As Blanc powered down to her base form, another goddess flew in through the window. "I flew here as fast as I could!" Nepgear powered down to her base form as she stopped to talk to Blanc. I watched as the two walked out of earshot, and they started talking. After a few minutes, Blanc pointed at me. Nepgear briskly glanced in my direction before she looked back at Blanc. Then she stopped and looked right at me. The two kept chatting as I sat on the couch in the lobby, about to doze off. I slowly closed my eyes…
"You look uncomfortable." Nepgear looked down at me, tilting her head slightly. I shifted a little. "Oh.. umm.." Nepgear giggled at my response. "You do know this building has things called guest bedrooms, right?" I paused, then hesitantly nodded. Nepgear proceeded to gently pull me onto my feet as she walked me to the guest bedroom, with the twins following closely behind. As she laid me onto the bed, she gently ran her fingers through my hair. She tucked me into bed as she walked out, turning off the light and shutting the door behind her. My thoughts quickly faded into gentle warm silence…
