Something Pink
Part 3: Models for the Party
"Sakura, please, come out," a deep voice pleaded with her. He banged his head against her dressing room door in frustration. "If I get a coma from this I'm blaming you," he grumbled.
The door flung open and a petite woman flung herself at him. He caught her in his arms, stroking her back gently. "I can't go, Seiji! I can't go!"
He felt her shrinking, and tried hard to support her up. The light, silky, pink dress she wore was wrinkled from clawing. "Tell Eriol to get someone else to go with you!" She wailed, while clinging to his shirt like a whimpering child.
"Get a hold of yourself, Sakura!"
Earlier in the evening, Sakura had been sitting with her boss, Eriol Hiiragizawa, sipping ice tea and watching T.V. in the studio. She had been modeling for an hour and the photographer took over one thousand shots before the break was necessary. As Sakura and Eriol took a short break, before Sakura changed into her tenth dress that day the news was on. The reporter was saying, "One of the richest men in America is coming to visit us, here in Japan. Syaoran Li, president of Li Enterprise, is hosting a grand party, here in Japan. All huge companies and corporations in Japan are gathering in the Mansion he has rented, where they may all discuss an affiliation program. He plans to franchise his company in this country and hopes that big corporations in Japan can help…"
At the sound of Syaoran Li's name, Sakura had stiffened, and felt her glass slipping from her fingers. The glass fell and hit the floor, shattering into pieces. Eriol looked at her in surprise, ordering the clean up crew to clean the mess. Sakura was trying to help, but Eriol pulled her aside.
Away from the commotion, Eriol spoke gently to her, "I'm sure Seiji asked you to go with him to this meeting, and I know about your past with the famous son of the Li Clan, but you have to let it all go. I'm not asking you to be a model fulltime. I'm asking you to go to this party with Seiji just to—Sakura!" Sakura had run off to her dressing room, not letting him finish. She slammed the door so hard it shook the whole building. After two hours, she still didn't come out.
Worried, Eriol called Seiji up since he knew Sakura would only listen to him.
And now, we're back to this scene, where Sakura whines and Seiji tries to cheer her up.
"But, why me?! I'm sure there are many other models who work fulltime as models and have an even better figure than me! Why me?!"
Eriol walked out from hiding and answered her for Seiji, "Because I need my top models there with me tomorrow night; Seiji is my best male model and you are my best female model."
Seiji wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer, "Come on, Honey, I won't let him even touch you."
"Yeah, but I'm going to confront him face to face. I can't bear it!"
"He won't bother you as long as I'll be your date for tomorrow. Now cheer up, Honey! Do this for Eriol and me."
Sakura groaned, "You won't leave my side, promise!"
"Of course not."
Sakura looked at Eriol, "You probably are going to be too busy to care about me…"
"I'm the manager, Sakura. How can I protect you and negotiate with your ex at the same time. There's only one of me, so I'll leave it to Seiji."
"Okay, I'll do it. Just this once! Because you're my best friend's fiancé, I'll help you just this once!"
Eriol gave her a pat on the head. "That's a good girl, now."
"Now I have to tell my other boss that I can't work tomorrow, because my other boss needs me," Sakura grumbled.
Both Eriol and Seiji smiled down at her. Annoyed, Sakura gave them both a scowl, shouting, "You both owe me!"
"I'll take you out for ice cream in the morning," Seiji said.
"You don't have to come in at all for the following week, but still get paid. And you'll be the bridesmaid at my wedding," Eriol said.
Sakura spoke to Eriol, "Tomoyo already promised me that position over the phone."
"But she's an ocean away making my word stronger than hers. Anyway, I'm only restating what she wants."
"But, she gets to choose the bridesmaid, so you don't have to restate anything. That means your words are not as effective as hers…"
By now, Sakura forgot about the party, Syaoran and anything else that was supposed to happen later on.

A.N: I just came up with another story that I hope to start after I finish this one! But that's going to be a surprise, so bear with me. School work comes first. And sorry for any spelling/grammatical errors in this chapter… I'm kind of in a hurry to finish this chapter.
