Ororo was looking out the window watching the clouds as they formed overhead, she was in love with the sky, the elements of nature, she was the elements of nature. The wind, the rain, the thunder and lightning, the warmth of the sun, the mist in the morning. She didn't want to get headstrong, but that was a neat way to think of herself, one with the elements. As her husband was also... in different ways yes. The forest, the mountains, the instincts that had kept him alive for so long, the animal, the hunter, the complete opposite of her... He was earth and she was sky... two total opposites, but one cannot exist without the other.

The wind brushed her skin, she awakened, vigor rushed through her veins, her pupils shrunk as she looked past a cloud to where the sun hid itself, she was ready. Her heart lept and a gust of wind flew into the room ready to carry her off, she was about to give herself to the winds and fly with them wherever they would take her. When suddenly,

"Hey Darlin'." Her thoughts split, half on playing in the sky, half on the man standing behind her. She turned her head to him and gave a warm smile, he smiled back to her.

"Hello Logan." She greeted him,

"How long have you been standing there?" he shoved himself off the wall he had been leaning on and walked up to her.

"Long enough to see you in love with someone else..." He teased her, she raised her eyebrows at him.

"What? There is no one I love more than you my husband, I thought you knew that already."

"Hm-hm, yeah." He walked up to her molding his front to her back like it was always meant to be that way, just them, flush with each other he wrapped his arms around her hugging her from behind, she smiled contently enjoying their closeness. he rested his head on her shoulder, and she nuzzled him in response.

"I'm not sure how I feel about you looking at someone else like that though." He commented, which brought a giggle to her. Logan was a tough guy, but it was in times like these that she was extra happy to be with him, he always let it be known that she was his one and only, and that he was determined to keep it that way, which she had no objection to whatsoever.

"You are very funny James."

"Me? Nah, just jealous." He responded, which made her want to laugh more.

"How is my princess?" He asked using the nickname that he'd given her all those years ago,

"She is wanting to play with the weather again, will this be permitted my guardian?" He looked as if he was thinking for a moment.

"Soon as I finish snuggling you." He commented back making her warm up inside.

"That is important as well my love."

"Very important darlin."

A few minutes later Ororo took off into the sky, it hadn't been long since she'd flown last, but it was as some people would call it, her high. She danced in the air, weaving through clouds and wind, loving the feel of the cool air on her bare skin, she looked back through the window that she'd come out of seeing her husband gazing up at her awestruck. It amazed her how awed he was when he saw her fly… sure he'd watched Jean and the others who had that gift to, but he was never more enamored than with her.

She felt blessed, the center of attention, the apple of his eye, and he was the apple of her eye as well. She smiled tenderly to him and he did the same back to her, she put her hand to her mouth and then made a motion blowing him a kiss, though she was this far away she could see him blush, it was so cute... thinking that a man as big and tough as the Wolverine could be touched so deeply by such a small motion.

She flew further out onto the grounds of the institute enjoying her freedom.

Suddenly there was a bang from below, she moved to see what it was, but before she could get a glimpse she felt dizzy, a throbbing pain screamed from her head, everything went blurry, she was falling fast to the earth, darkness overtook as her consciousness left her.

He heard the shot, he knew what it was, his senses went on overdrive, he looked to where his wife was hovering in the air, she stopped suddenly wavering. One billion thoughts went through his head in that second.

"No... NO, NO, NO, NO!" He jumped out the window not caring for the height and raced to where she was pushing himself faster than he'd ever gone. she was falling, he unleashed his claws using them to cut down the vegitation that stood in his way. bushes, branches, trees, leaves, if it stood between them now it was his enemy. He emerged from the thicket to where her scent lingered in the air, looking up he saw her just inches from him.

Reflexes took over and he caught her just in time, worry ate him alive as he scanned her body up and down. He didn't have to look very long, he went pail, there was a big gash on the top right side of her head. Without a seconds hesitation he ran back to the mansion, his stomach twisted as he heard voices cheering in the distance saying things like,

"Ay you got her!" and

"Great shooting Ben!" His teeth bore angrily as he ran her back to the school.

"HAAANK!" He yelled as he burst through the doors nocking Roberto off his feet and sending him flying into the wall. He ran through the hallway, then down toward the med lab.

"What is it Logan?!" He yipped the last part as he was almost trampled by the stampeding man who skidded to a halt inside the room leaving his feet with floor burns. Hank rushed to his side shocked to see the woman downed.

"What happened?" He asked as he examined her seeing the gash on her head.

"Someone shot her down." He growled out, Hank looked at him questioningly,

"What?"

"JUST HELP HER!" He yelled at the other mutant at his side as he was in no mood for explanation right now.

Deciding the best thing right now would be to help Ororo he got to work, getting some of his doctors equipment. The most important thing was that she was breathing, her heart was still beating strong, . Turning his attention to her head he looked through her hair to where the bullet had grazed her, thankfully that's all it was, but to Logan it was what it was. Someone had tried to kill her, for no reason either.

"Well the good news is that she was just grazed by the bullet, it didn't do any real damage, thank God. Her vitals are still strong, so it doesn't seem there's anything to worry about there." Logan sighed relieved at the news, he was still worried as hell, she was still unconscious and that probably wasn't good.

"Should we wake her up?" Hank looked to the woman for a moment, then back to the man,

"I supposed you could wake her." Logan touched her face cupping her cheek in the palm of his hand.

"Ro darlin, come on baby wake up." He encouraged her, she didn't move, but just laid there, same as she was a moment ago.
