"Guys," Selphie pouted, "come oooon!"

Zell looked at her, confused, "Where are we going?"

"Outsiiide!" she whined, still pouting. For a six-year-old, she was quite the troublemaker. Zell with her just made the situation worse.

Quistis refused. "Selphie, Matron said we're supposed to stay inside where we're safe. We'll get sick if we go out there."

"I don't see Matron anywhere, so we're fine. As long as we stay out of her sight, we won't get in trouble, right Zell?"

Zell nodded. "Right." He headed for the door that led outside. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

Squall stood and followed the others. As soon as he got outside, he'd make a run for the hiding place. There, he'd stay somewhat dry, at least. His best friend was already there, too. He knew it. He was nowhere within the Orphanage, so he had to be outside… he just had to be.

"Selphie, I really don't think we should do this…" Quistis hesitated.

Zell turned to face her, "Then go back inside, unless you're just too chicken to admit you want to play in the rain too." He turned and ran out into the downpour. Selphie was already out in it, Squall had disappeared.

A flash of lightning came across the sky, followed by a loud clap of thunder. Zell came running back under the porch, but Selphie stayed out in the rain. Squall and Seifer came sprinting out of nowhere, and joined Zell and Quistis under the cover of the porch. As much as the two boys loved storms, they knew it was safer to stay inside if it got bad.

"Sel, come on!" Zell yelled at her. She ignored him. She never listened, never. She didn't even hear him, in fact. He grit his teeth, wanting her to come back.

Irvine, who hadn't been around when Selphie nagged them, God knows why. He was probably asleep because those two were never apart. Selphie was practically attached to his hip, except when they slept. The thunder that had scared Zell back under the porch had awakened him from his afternoon nap. He stepped out onto the porch, rubbing his eyes sleepily. "What's going on?"

"It's stormy and Selphie won't come in, that's what," Quistis stated rather dryly.

Irvine shook his head, laughing a little. "That girl is never going to learn," he said as he ran out to get her. He grabbed her arm as gently as possible, and drug her back to safety. "Stay out of storms, Sel. I'd hate for you to get sick," he said, smiling that sweet, flirting smile of his.
