A/N2: January 14, 2013: Edit! And done! Enjoy!
A/N: After the long wait, here it is the final chapter. It was a lot of fun writing this. And I'm a little sad to see my first Smallville fic end. Anyways please R&R! Thanks!
Disclaimer: I do not own Smallville.
Epilogue:
Chloe moved around the Torch office quickly and efficiently as she put together the latest issue. She was alone during her spare period and had the place to herself.
"Chloe," a voice said pleasantly. She looked up from the table she was piecing together the front page, and saw that Lex had walked into the room. Her face lit up at the sight of him. "Hi."
She made her way towards him, she noticed him take a discreet look around the room, before putting his hands on her hips. They'd agreed to take things slow, considering she was still in high school. Neither of them needed the drama that their relationship would be sure to cause. So, for now, only their friends had a clue as to what they meant to each other.
"Lex," Chloe said, pleasantly surprised. She planted a quick kiss on his lips. "What are you doing here?"
He reluctantly let go of her, taking a step back. He didn't want to push their luck, after all. "I came to drop off that info you wanted on Coelers Unlimited," he informed, handing her a thick red folder.
"You didn't have to do that," she said affectionately.
"I'll take any excuse I can get to come see my girlfriend," he replied mischievously, leaning into her for another searing kiss.
She grinned at him happily, touching her now swollen lips. It always amazed her, the effect he had on her.
"So, how's the article coming?" he asked to distract her.
She dropped her hand, going around to her desk. "Good, even better now that I have this," she said, indicating the folder.
"Good, I'm glad I could help…" he began mysteriously. "I'm also happy that Mr. Sanders decided to reconsider, even offered to let you start now instead of the summer, how nice…"
"Yeah…" she said, voice on the suspicious side. "About that, are you sure you had nothing to do with it?"
"Not a thing," he replied unconvincingly. "They were going to hire you before my father interfered."
"Uh huh," she replied, throwing him a disbelieving eyebrow. "Well, thanks for whatever you did."
He held up his hands as if to ward off the slight praise. "I didn't do anything except fix the mess my father created," he argued.
She stared at him for a second before standing up and putting her arms around him, not caring if anyone walked in on them.
"I love you," she told him adamantly, before pulling him in for another kiss.
A second later a voice interrupted them. They jerked apart abruptly. "Still just friends?"
They turned around to find both Lana and Clark looking quite amused.
Lex, ignoring them, turned back to Chloe and gave her a peck on the cheek. "Love you, too," he said endearingly. "I'll see you later."
He pulled away from her, walking over to the grinning, on looking couple. "You know I can ask you two the same question," he stated blandly, enjoying the blush that formed on his friends' faces.
Orignial A/N: Well that's it. Short, I know. I tried to leave the end open. I really want to write a sequel to this. But it's going to be a lot darker, way more angsty than this. But I won't be doing that for a while. Not until some of my other stories are complete.
I just want to say thanks to autumngold, Ashley-loves-smallville and Veronica for reviewing the last chapter. And thanks to everyone else who reviewed earlier chapters. And also thanks to anyone who read it and didn't review. Thanks!
Updated A/N: Sequel is up. It's called The Evil In Love. It's on hiatus right now, but there's 6 chapters up if you'd like to take a look.
