Title: Black and White
Author: Tekli
Rating: K+ (better safe than sorry)
Genre: General/Angst
Pairings: Blink-and-you'll-miss-it Kenshin/Kaoru
Spoilers: If you don't know that Kenshin was Battousai. Or that Kaoru exists.
Warnings: None that I can think of.

Sometimes he dreamed in black and white.

Such dreams were always his best. Dreams of the new life he'd found, of peace, of Kaoru, all like Western photographs.

Even as Battousai, he had had good dreams in black and white—not even grays, just stark lights and darks. But those dreams had never lasted. Red would always seep into the perfection, red as blood and suddenly everything would have color— It would be overwhelming after his untouched black-white world.

Now his dreams didn't end in color.

Now he woke up to a vibrant, colorful world, only to be strangely disappointed.

Author's Note: Thank you for reading. Um, reviews are appreciated, but please don't feel obligated... I do like questions, though. (Mindless praise is good, too. )

Blech... I used the words "color" and "black and white" far too much. > Can't find a way to get around that, though...
