Hungary doesn't seen so huge when you're saying the name. But it takes a long ride to realize the actual size of the city.

Selene knows that city pretty well, since the earlier centuries…well, but currently not as she used to. For the time has passed, technology evolved and tings have changed.

Supernatural world weren't always complicated. Vampire used to enslave the werewolves…but there was an rebellion.

Lots of tall buildings in the city, skyscrapers…

Technology. And with that, humans started hunting the supernatural, both vampires and werewolves.

They managed to capture her, and freeze her for 12 years.

She got separated from her lover. Lycan and vampire hibrid, Michael Corvin. Descendant from Alexander Corvinus.

And as if that wasn't enough suffering since her transformation, she learned she had a daughter and they never really had a chance, time to bond.

Marked as a traitor by the Council, Selene makes an ally. Another heir from the Council, David.

They managed to protect Selene's daughter, Eve, and sent her away, so she could runaway and be safe, be free.

And that's where Selene got frustrated.

There was a new threat, else than the Council, and Lycans itself…

The new leader, the headstrong, strategist and brute, Marius got obsessed by Selene's blood and her daughter's. Since Selene was a pure-blood vampire, directly from the one of the elders of the Council, Viktor. And Eve was an hibrid mixture between Selene and Michael.

Heartbroken, still grieving for her daughter's, and lover's absence, Selene's doing her best to survive and protect what's left of it. With ever fiber of her being.

They were in a rush. Getting their defenses up against the incoming threats.

So while trying to flee away from some vampires, the duo Selene and David, found themselves surrounded.

Samira's lackey, Vargas and some other vampires were on their tail.

Ok, we must cross the bridge and we should be fine. We can hijack something and get back to Var Dhor.-David

Selene was silent.

Running fast like a bullet.

Two blurs in the dark, followed by some couple more.

I don't remember this part of the town.-Selene

We should be fine. The Council can't cross it. Legends say this is wolf territory.-David smiled in mocking way

They finally crossed the invisible line.

Real wolves? Or werewolves?-Selene

Wolf, wolf. From nature.-David

They could see the Council vampires stopping abruptly.

David smirked and they continued their path.

The trees passed like a huge blur in the dark.

Like another variation of a dark shade, as a curtain.

The van engine was on it's limit.

Arguing at the effort of a high speed.

It was a silent travel.

Eventually, the road ended and they had to take a turn, to a trail.

I guess I'm so overwhelmed by this lycan-vampire war all time that I forgot about wild animals existence.-Selene sighed

David laughed hard.

What? I was a death dealer for the Council for centuries. Humans, werewolves and other vampires marked for death and then I was captured and kept frozen for a…a decade? A lot has changed…-Selene

Wolves were near extinction back on those times as Victor's lackey.-Selene

You're much much older than Queen Elizabeth from England!-David joked

Very funny.-Selene rolled her eyes at him

Then something bursted out from the dark of the trees.

One by one…then they were seven.

It looked like giant dogs.

There were lots of fur colors in there.

They were bigger than the average wolf…around 6,5 tall, on four.

What are this things?-Selene

Now I'm sure the legends are true, they're wolves…big wolves…I'll try to outrun them.-David

David tried to force the engine further. So they could get to safety as soon as the truck let them.

Do you really think this thing will outrun them?! Look at them!-Selene

What should we do? Maybe it's their territory here.-David

We should–.-Selene

She caught eyes with a russet wolf.

Ignoring the gray wolf, which was reaching them faster than the others.

She had a weird feeling.

Maybe we shouldn't attack them.-Selene

Are you kidding me? They'll tear our limbs apart!-David

With nowhere to go to, David couldn't avoid but colliding with the gray wolf, now waiting ahead for them.

A whine and a loud crack, followed by glass shattering.

When Selene opened her eyes, she could see the wolves approaching.

Then everything went black.

And later she could hear something…

We're just passing by! We're not enemies!-David yelled

They were tied tightly, separately.

Two vampires and seven wolves in the clearing.

What could ever happen?

The russet wolf she looked at was there, staring at her.

It felt like they had some connection.

She didn't want to fight it.

Talk.

The voice beamed in her head.

Before she could understand how the hell she could hear it, the russet wolf growled at her.

We're not trouble.-Selene

David glimpsed at her, then at the wolves.

We're just passing by. We need to get to the North.-Selene

You're going nowhere.

You don't understand. We need to go–!-Selene

The russet wolf left out a loud roar and lunged at her.

Selene fell back to the ground, unable to get up, since the wolf's paws were pressing her to the ground. As two more surrounded them both.

The wolves attacked David.

He quickly climbed up a tree.

Selene wasn't that lucky.

There was something about that wolf.

She couldn't push the weird feeling away…even though she was about to get eaten to death by the three wolves around her.

David shot them from the high of the tree with a pistol.

One of the wolves quit threatening the restrained vampire and tried to take a big bite of her side. Looking forward to eat her already.

Selene couldn't hold back her screaming to the amount of pain she felt as her skin got pierced.

The grey wolf was yanked away from her, by the russet wolf.

David, don't shoot them!-Selene made an effort to yell in pain

The russet wolf left out a growl.

Almost automatically, the wolves stopped attacking, staying put.

David climbed down and tried to aid Selene, but he earned a warning growl from the russet wolf.

Please…I just need to…get there…so we can…stop Marius…-Selene said as even breathing was painful to her

What Marius?

The voice beamed in her head.

He's the new Lycan leader…haven't you heard about the news?-Selene

Give me a good reason to not eat you out right now.

David approached them and gave Selene some of his blood, to help her healing.

I'd like to speak with you…alone.-Selene looked at the pack and at the russet wolf

The wolves retreated a bit.

David…-Selene

Are you sure?-David

Just a couple minutes.-Selene

He walked away a bit, to give them privacy.

The two were left "alone" for a bit in the clearing.

The wolf's morph started changing…it's bones…

Then it was a dark skinned woman in front her.

Tall, muscular, with lots of scars, and as intimidating as Marius…and she was naked.

She tilted her head aside, waiting.

You're different than the ordinary werewolf.-Selene

And you're a leech. I can smell you.-The woman answered

And you're grumpy.-Selene

Where is your leader?-Selene

None of your business. I'm the Beta of the pack. So speak. Fast.-The woman

Ok, well…Marius wants to bring chaos to our world–.-Selene

Talk about your world and chaos…Council.-The Beta

I'm not from the Council…they want my head. Alongside the lycans…they're hunting me and my daughter.-Selene

Selene told her about the facts, briefly.

The woman spent most of the time in silence. Watching her quietly.

Her eyes travelled Selene's body for a moment, then their eyes met again, as she was listening to Selene.

Suddenly, the woman furrowed her brows, causing a knit in the middle.

So you and this Michael created an hibrid…and now they want your blood and hers…-The Beta spoke in a low tone, as if speaking to herself

Yes.-Selene

And you're asking me to risk the pack for some crazy ass theory of leeches walking in the sun?-The Beta

Please…we need every help we can get.-Selene

I'm not getting in the middle of this.-The Beta answered

It's not only for me. It's for all of us!-Selene

Well I couldn't care less.-The Beta

Are you even listening to me?!-Selene

The woman growled at her.

Her nostrils got flared.

Enough! You spoke. Now you can go.-The Beta

You won't help?-Selene

Your leech essence is burning my nose.-The Beta said

We need help.-Selene took bold steps in the woman's direction

I'm not risking the pack! Get out of my sight!-The Beta

Tell your leader, please. It's an emergency!-Selene

The woman threw her head back, laughing.

As if we would waste our time on this…leech war.-The Beta

There are werewolves in this too!-Selene

Sick of trying to beg, Selene used her persuasion skill better. A vampiric perk.

As if she predicted that, the shape shifter grabbed her neck, holding her throat tight.

Nice try.-The Beta

She tried to escape her steel grip.

I'm starting to think you underestimate our kind.-The Beta smirked

Her skin was burning hot.

Her vampiric force would've worked fine. But still, she didn't feel like hurting the woman in front of her. She only dig her nails on the woman's forearms.

They could both smell blood already.

Selene had her eyes half-lidded. Accepting to be choked to death by the shape shifter.

Could this be the end?
