Prologue

He still remembered that night as if it happened only yesterday and not three years ago.

He still remembered him entering the common room after a night out with the marauders to find Lily waiting for him.

He still remembered how drunk he was to not process that Lily waiting for him till 3 a.m. was very unusual.

He still remembered how he stumbled over to her and kissed her because he couldn't help himself.

He still remembered how he was surprised to find that she tasted of vodka.

He still remembered how she pushed him off her and stepped back, disgusted.

He still remembered how confused and offended he was at that.

He still remembered himself asking her what happened.

He still remembered how, then, tears started running down her beautiful face.

After that, though, he didn't remember a thing. It was like someone had put a lid on his memories of the rest of the night, but still, one thing was clear to him after that night: Lily Evans had broken up with him. Why? He didn't know, he didn't remember. Try as he might, he couldn't remember it.

So, now three years after that night, James Potter still didn't know why Lily Evans broke up with him all those years ago, and James was pretty sure that only one person knew the answer to that, Lily Evans.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: How was it? This is my first multi-chapter fanfic, so I'm super nervous about how this turns out. Though, I hope you all liked it.

Reviews would be much appreciated.
