Chapter 1.

King Duncan said

'Oh brave Macbeth!

Well he deserves that name!'

Macbeth has thought

And thought again,

About what Duncan said.

'All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis!'

Disturbed his thoughts.

'All hail, Macbeth! Hail to tee, Than of Cawdor!'

The words hung in the rancid air.

'All hail, Macbeth! That shalt be king hereafter!'

And thoughts again

But not the same,

He must be king hereafter.

Banquo with his curiosity

Wants to know about himself,

And asks the witches straight away.

The witches answer straight away.

Did he not understand?

But still they said the words just once,

And this is what they said:

'Lesser than Macbeth, and greater.'

'Not so happy, yet much happier.'

'Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none.'
