Normal POV:
"Wheeler?" an icy cold voice inquired.
A blond head whirled around to face the owner of the voice.
"Jesus, Kaiba, you scared the shit out of me!"
"What are you doing out here?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
"It's quiet here."
After a moment's pause the blond sighed, heavily. Then with a quick glance towards the grey headstone he had been kneeling in front of, he stood and turned to face the tall CEO.
"Just visiting family," he stated simply.
The brunette quirked an eyebrow at the smaller teen, then looked at the gravestone.
'Serenity Wheeler
Beloved daughter, sister, and friend
May her soul
Rest In Peace'
Seto looked back at the blond, who was now standing beside him, questioningly. Joey caught the look out of the corner of his eye. He smiled slightly.
"My little sister. It's her birthday so I decided to stop by. She'd be 16 today."
"I'm sorry."
"So am I."
"How'd it happen?"
Joey looked at the CEO.
"That's a little personal, don't you think?" he snapped.
"You don't have to answer."
Joey continued to look at the brunette for a moment or two, and then looked away.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you."
"No harm done."
"It's just I haven't talked about it with anyone in a long time."
"You can talk to me."
"That sounds so weird coming from you," the blond chuckled.
Seto remained silent. The blond sighed again.
"After I met Yugi and everyone, I cleaned up my act and left the street gang I had been a member of. A year or two later I ran into the "boss man" and when I refused to rejoin his group he decided I needed to be taught a lesson. So he killed the person that meant the most to me."
The blond clenched his fists tightly.
"If he wasn't already in jail, I'd kill him with my own hands."
Seto glanced down at said hands to find the knuckles white and tiny rivulet's of blood seeping through the fingers. The CEO stepped in front of the blond and gently took the bleeding hands into his own. Joey, startled by the sudden contact, looked up at the brunette's face and unclenched his hands. Seto looked down at the bloody palms and shook his head, chestnut hair falling into his azure eyes. He took a handkerchief out of his trench coat pocket and closed Joey's hands around it, enveloping them with his slightly larger ones.
"Would you really stoop to his level?"
The blond looked down at their conjoined hands and smiled.
"You're right, I'd be no better than him."
The brunette smiled (a rarity) and gently lifted the blonde's hands to his mouth and kissed each one tenderly. Joey was startled for a second but the smile soon reappeared on his face and a blush stained his cheeks and the bridge of his nose.
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up," Seto said.
And with a final glance at the worn out headstone, the blond walked out of the cemetery, Seto by his side.
