So, the third time's the charm, right? This is the second time I've rewritten the Prologue. The shortness and bad quality of the previous versions are likely what drove a lot of people away from my story. I'm sure some of you read the Prologue before, and upon seeing how bad it is, didn't give later chapters a chance and just quit. If you still do even after this rewrite, that's fine. Before I continue my story, I'll also be rewriting the next few chapters, I think up to Chapter 3. Once I'm done with this, I'll continue writing new chapters. I hope this version is longer and more enjoyable.

A few bits of information to anyone new. These chapters are divided into segments, each one telling the story of usually one or two Titans. Italicized works at the beginning of each segment tell the location. Since I'm not having the Titans properly talk, Italicized words usually represent thoughts or speech shortly and simply. Also, while some Titans are smarter than others, they don't all know everything about humans. Thus, they call buildings, "nests", and people themselves, "bipeds", unless they know the true name. Hope that clears up a few things!

All Titans and Kaiju are owned by Legendary or Toho. I don't claim anything!

Isla de Mara, Mexico

Isla de Mara was destroyed. Rodan's breakout has left the island devastated, with only a few survivors hiding throughout the town's ruins, the rest having been evacuated or killed.

Off the western shore of the island, tons of steam could be seen rising out of the water.

The water erupted as a Titan broke through the surface.

Rodan coughed and sputtered as he flew back up into the air.

What... What the hell was that?

His whole body felt like it was burning. His skin is made of hardened volcanic rock, but that green acidic water ate right through it.

And there was that giant explosion.

He was underwater when it went off. The blast knocked him towards his island home.

He can't breathe in the water, but it isn't supposed to be devoid of oxygen. Before he got out, he saw that all the swimming creatures had died instantly.

Rodan coughed again. More saltwater was thrown out of his mouth, the liquid falling back into the ocean below.

His whole body was soaking wet.

His fiery and volcanic abilities were useless until he could dry off.

Seawater was flowing and dripping down his body and wings.

His breathing was erratic.

Calm down, Rodan. Calm down. Just... Dry off. He wasn't sure what else to think.

Everything happened so fast. This was too much for just one day! And he just woke up.

While his wings had so far just been flapping enough to keep him airborne, he shook them harder. Water droplets flew everywhere, most falling back into the broken ocean below.

Despite being a little drier now, the acidic burnings across his body still hurt endlessly. That wasn't mentioning the electrical burns on his chest. Ghidorah inflicted those burns.

He had lost that fight in the air.

Being hit by that beam of electricity was what sent him spiraling into the ocean in the first place.

Now that he thought about that terror, where even is that Three-Headed freak?

Looking around, he only saw that the entire ocean nearby his island had turned that sickly green color. And so many dead animals.

Mostly fish, but a few other aquatics things too.

What possibly could have caused this much destruction? Likely something to do with that powerful and blinding explosion.

Ghidorah... He'll pay for this! Godzilla will... Wait... Where is he!?

Ignoring the acidic burns and the pain they caused, Rodan began to fly over the green water. He scoured the surface, looking for any sign of the Alpha or that Invader.

He can't see either of them. Only more dead animals float lifelessly on the surface.

Rodan roared. The loud, screaming call failed to gain any attention.

How could an explosion just kill the two most powerful Titans on the planet?

This... This is way too much. I'm going back to my island.

Rodan turned off his course, instead heading back towards his island. Those bipeds had established their presence on his island home. It looks pretty destroyed. Smoke billowed into the air from various fires.

That was accidental. In his haste to attack those stupid metal flying things, he had gone far too fast. Fast enough that merely flying over this bunch of biped nests destroyed them.

Just as he landed on the sandy beaches of the island, he heard something in the water.

He turned around in curiosity. Was there someone alive? Rodan excitedly looked at the ocean. With Ghidorah finally dead, Godzilla would be the true and uncontested Alpha.

The sight he saw horrified the volcanic pterosaur.

A now Two-Headed creature emerged from the broken ocean.

The two heads coughed up a lot of salt water as they emerged from the ocean.

Seawater dripped down Ghidorah's entire body. The droplets slid down his golden scales and back into the ocean below.

It took a few moments for the two heads to grasp the situation.

Ichi, what was that!? Ni's chitters went unanswered by the lead head.

Ni then realized that small cuts and burns were running all across their body.

While it was a lot less severe than what Rodan had to deal with, the acidic burns still hurt.

Both heads looked down at the water below them.

All the smaller animals are dead.

Fish and many other things float on the surface. Their lifeless eyes almost seemed to stare up at them. Ni, a little unsettled, stopped looking down.

They were relatively unharmed. However, what happened to their rival?

Finally, Ichi answered the right head.

A biped weapon. They tried to take out all three of us.

Ni looked a little dumbfounded at the center head.

Ichi recognized the look. He snarled. I'm serious. There's no way Gojira or Rodan could have done this.

The more both heads thought about this situation, they realized what had happened.

Ichi looked at the nearby island. He could see Rodan quietly watching them from the shoreline.

Ni also noticed the volcanic pterosaur in the distance. He loudly roared in his direction.

The Fire Demon cowered, backing up a few steps and trying to make himself smaller.

The more aggressive head chittered in amusement.

Expecting a reaction from the other heads, he turned to face them.

Ichi, San, got anything too- Oh, right...

San was gone. Their enemy had ripped off his neck.

The severed neck and head were probably somewhere at the bottom of the ocean by now.

Ni asked the center head what their plan was now. He didn't answer.

The lead head was staring at the stump where San used to be.

Both remaining heads knew that this wasn't permanent. It would take a lot of energy and radiation, but they could regrow San. It would be as if nothing had ever happened. Ichi knew that the more curious and friendly head would likely not take this whole experience well.

However, where would they find enough radiation to help them regrow the missing head and neck?

The volcano! Of course. Ichi wondered why he didn't think of this immediately.

The volcanic bird must have chosen to live in that particular mountain of fire for a reason. It must have enough radiation to sustain Rodan. It's their best option to regrow San without having to fly around looking for a better place.

With one less head, they had lost quite a few advantages in terms of combat abilities. However, while both heads were reluctant to say it out loud, they cared for each other as brothers.

Ghidorah flapped his giant golden wings, heading towards the island. Rodan quickly took to the air and flew out of the way. He watched from a safe distance.

The Devil with Three Heads landed on top of the volcano. For a moment, Ichi looked down at the rest of the island below. The ruins of a biped place covered much of the island below the volcano.

Almost immediately, the severed head began to regrow.

This process happened to Ghidorah more times than he would like to admit, but none of the three heads were used to the brutal regeneration yet.

Ni roared as San's neck regrew. This whole thing was a bit painful and discomforting for the other two heads. That isn't mentioning if two heads had to be regrown. Ichi shuddered just thinking about that possibility.

As the head continued to regrow, Ichi realized that the tongue was regenerating first. This is too creepy... As the skull began to regrow, Ichi prematurely pulled off a bright golden membrane. It doesn't affect the rest of the head growing back.

In another few seconds, the head had finished regrowing. San was back.

Ah! Please, wait! Huh? Oh...

Ni chittered in frustration. San lost his head the most, with Ni a distant second, and Ichi having only been decapitated once. He made sure the left and right heads never spoke of that incident. Either way, San always overacted to this whole thing when his head was regrown.

With Ghidorah back to having all three heads, the trio collectively made a decision. Despite the amount of time they've spent on this planet fighting Godzilla and his allies, they never once decided what to do about those bipeds.

Now, they've advanced enough to create a weapon capable of killing their rival. It could likely end most of the other Titans with ease. How long until they were next?

Besides, those small things had always annoyed them in their past attempts at defeating Godzilla. Yes, there was only one option.

Complete and total eradication.

However, this was a task they couldn't accomplish alone. Those bipeds were spread out across the planet, and far too numerous for Ghidorah to kill by himself. That would take far too long.

Their kind doesn't take hundreds of years to secure a territory. They find a suitable planet, wipe out any opposition or credible threats, and rule over the rest.

Then again, they had long since failed that. This was... what, the twentieth attempt? No, not attempt. This time they won.

The other Titans. They'll help us get rid of the bipeds. Well, most of them, at least.

Ichi knew that a few, like Mosura, would probably still resist. Others might just ignore the Alpha Call altogether, going their way or not participating. Maybe one other kaiju would try to challenge them... Laughable.

Ghidorah raised all three of his heads towards the sky. His golden wings spread out wide. The clouds above were grey. The storm would soon begin to rain.

They began to roar. An Alpha Call.

The message was clear to all the Titans on the surface.

Awaken from slumber. Destroy the bipeds. Obey your Alpha.

They stopped roaring. However, the call would echo across the planet. All they could do now was wait. It shouldn't take long for them to wake up. From there, it was just hoped that they are willing to accept him as the new Alpha.

Rodan cautiously flew up to Ghidorah.

He stopped about halfway up the mountain of fire. The three heads of Ghidorah looked down at him.

Well, Rodan. You heard the call. What's your choice, Fire Demon?

The volcanic pterosaur looked up at the new self-proclaimed Alpha.

He knew that there was little hope in resisting, especially since Ghidorah is right in front of him. Denying the Alpha Call would mean death.

Godzilla was gone anyway. And Mosura wouldn't stand a chance either, wherever she is...

Rodan spread open his wings and bowed. After a moment, he reluctantly called out.

Of course... Alpha.

East of San Diego, California

A hidden Monarch outpost lies partially underground in the empty lands near the Salton Sea.

Inside a sealed-off room on the western edge of the facility, one can find the dormant Titanus Camazotz.

Then, a strange roar filled the air, echoing across the area and continuing to spread outwards.

The already unsettled security and scientists were now on high alert.

All of a sudden, simultaneous distress signals and Titan breakout alerts began to flare up all over the planet from several different outposts.

As this happened, Camazotz began to stir.

The bat Titan slowly began to stir. His eyes slowly opened. Even then, they were only partially open. He blinked a few times. The white and faded eyes slowly took in his surroundings.

Then, one of his wings moved. It was still on the ground, but it visibly moved a few feet, scraping along the hard concrete of the chamber.

At the detected movement from Camazotz, the automated security systems activated. Blue lasers running from the floor to the roof encircled the groggy Titan.

Alarms also began to blare throughout the facility, drawing a few people to the main Observation Room, which is adjacent to the chamber, with windows to allow people to see inside.

Camazotz slowly began to rise. At a full height of 164 feet, the Dark Bat was significantly bigger than any human, but not that big compared to some other Titans.

Camazotz's mouth opened wide, and a low rumbling sound came from his throat. It was almost as if he was... yawning?

Urgh... What is this place? How... How long was I asleep?

Camazotz couldn't answer his questions. However, it is strangely bright wherever he is. Too bright. He snarled. His eyes were used to the darkness of caves and the blackness of night.

It's the main reason why he detested being active during the day. He's a nocturnal creature.

Although, this isn't normal light. It appears to be... blue.

Strange. The Death Bat tried to spread open his wings. His total wingspan was estimated by Monarch scientists to be roughly 400 feet. This measurement was too big to even allow the flying animal to spread his wings open inside the chamber, let alone the laser circle.

The tips of his tattered wings recoiled after touching something hot and painful. He cried out in surprise.

Was someone there? He struggled to see anything in this light. It's too blinding!

He attempted to walk forward, only for the tip of his nostrils to also experience this burning feeling.

One more, the Eternal Bat recoiled in pain. Although, he went too far. His long spike-covered tail hit something behind him. It also had hit whatever was causing this burning pain.

It was all around him. This blue light. And whatever was burning everything it touched.

Argh! How did I get trapped like this?

Camazotz roared. He roared as loud as he could. "Skreeeee!" The glass viewing windows shattered. He heard that sound but had no idea what it meant.

He waited. His swarm didn't respond. Odd. They always responded to his commands. They wouldn't betray him.

The smaller bat-like creatures still didn't arrive to save their leader.

Fine then. I'll get out of here myself. Somehow...

However, he couldn't think of anything. He can't see because of this blinding blue light. For any other animal, the glow would have been trivial. Something you shouldn't look at directly for too long, but not much of a problem. It was practically blinding a sensitive creature like him.

There's no way he could pass through whatever was blocking him. It burned his skin and sent him reeling back. Unable to cross.

Normal sunlight he could handle. It was irritating, sure, but not overwhelming. This blue glow is far too bright and much too close for his white eyes.

Camazotz stood there, his eyes nearly completely closed. His body barely moved, out of fear that the tips of his wings or tail would once again accidentally hit whatever forced him back.

His long wings served as forelimbs while he was standing or walking. However, that wasn't any help in his current situation. Even if he could safely unfold them, he had no idea how big his surroundings were.

It might not be big enough to accommodate his large wingspan.

None of his combat abilities would help him. Teeth and claws likely would also get forced back and burned. His tail was no good either.

Then, he finally had an idea. His Sonic Screech.

Yes! That will surely work! In reality, he knew that if nothing else succeded, why would this? However, this ability is his last option. He has nothing to lose by trying. The alternative is being trapped in this unbearable light for who knows how long.

So, he began to roar. The loudest he possibly can. The walls of the chamber groaned and cracked. Concrete and tiles began to fall and shatter. The walls shook as the support beams strained to keep them up.

Finally, the blue light was gone. The room was shrouded in darkness.

Beautiful, comforting, pitch-black darkness. His eyes completely opened. They adjusted to the darkness quickly.

To an outsider, only a silhouette and two white, faded eyes were visible in the blackness of the room.

A content rumbling sound emerged from his throat. He was happy with the darkness. He took a step and heard a small splash.

Water? Why is there liquid here?

Unknown to the Titan, the Monarch scientists, shaken and left deaf by the Sonic Screech, activated the Kill Switch.

Every Monarch facility has a kill switch. They are meant to act as a last resort. They were designed to kill that specific Titan quickly and efficiently. Although, not all were made to do this peacefully.

For Camazotz's, the Kill Switch was designed to rapidly flood the room through pipes. They would pump in water from on-site storage. This would theoretically drown Camazotz.

The Death Bat had no way of knowing what was about to happen.

Confused, he took another step. A louder splash. It also felt like the water had risen. And it's still rising. Odd.

He tried to open his wings. However, his earlier suspicion was proven correct. If this is a cave, it is not big enough to house his entire wingspan. The wings uselessly halted upon contact with the walls.

The water by now was rapidly approaching his underside. His tail is already underwater, waving lazily in the blue liquid.

His vision couldn't quite see the rising water, but he could feel it on his skin.

His black mane, a coat of fur on his neck, and parts of his back were now wet too.

How fast was this water? Is this cave flooding? He had to get out of here. Now.

His wings, acting as forelimbs, sloshed through the water. He approached one of the walls. Then, he suddenly felt water rushing into his open jaws.

Surprised, Camazotz coughed out the water. Closing his mouth, he lifted his head upwards. His neck was leaning upwards. His feet were now kicking in the water. He was no longer standing on solid ground. Now, he is swimming.

He leaned against the wall. It doesn't feel like the jagged and pointy rocks of a cavern. It's too smooth and feels weird.

Then, water began to rush into his nostrils. Panicking, he pushed against the wall further.

It didn't budge. His feet kicked upwards. However, the top of his head hit something flat. That must be the cave ceiling.

He pushed against the wall again. He heard a muffled creaking sound through the water. That might be a good sign.

However, he has to go faster.

Bubbles of carbon dioxide periodically rushed out of his nostrils. He was running out of air.

Camazotz didn't know it, but the reinforced walls of this chamber were designed to hold back the Titan in case of an emergency. They aren't unbreakable but would take far too much effort to bring down before the Kill Switch did its job.

The Death Bat once more came back to his only option. Another Sonic Screech.

But would this work? He's underwater. Besides, openings his jaws to roar would only allow much more water through than keeping them closed.

It's either this or you'll drown. No other option.

So, he roared. As loud as the previous Sonic Screech. However, this one was muffled by water.

The walls of the chamber groaned and creaked. Cracks in the concrete grew larger.

As Camazotz roared, water flooded into his open jaws. This feeling... He didn't like it at all. he can't breathe.

Then, the walls gave way.

Waves of water flowed out of the chamber, smashing through weaker walls and starting to flood the rest of the Outpost. As for Camazotz, he was left lying down, soaking wet, and breathing hard.

There was only enough water to flood the chamber. Once the walls broke, and the water spread out among the next couple of rooms, it leveled out to be shallow enough for the Dark Bat.

As Camazotz slowly caught his breath, he rose to stand on his legs and wings. His black mane was still matted down and heavy from the deluge of water.

I... Never want to be underwater again. Never again.

Once he recovered, Camazotz smashed through the already weakened outer walls of the Outpost. He flew right past the military. While they attempted to fire anything they had at the passing Titan, they either barely annoyed him or missed altogether.

Now that he is free and very much safe, there's the matter of the Alpha Call.

It's not the old Alpha. Gojira. The roar is not his. Not recognizable. This is someone new.

While he is definitely on board with killing off those bipeds that nearly killed and imprisoned him, he doesn't follow the Alpha.

Well... It depends.

Back in the old days, if Gojira showed up, he played along and listened to everything, diligently watching his swarm to make sure they obey as well.

However, he just doesn't care about the Alpha. Never has, and that never will change.

He goes alone. Well... except for his minions. Those smaller bat-like animals are his only companions in adulthood.

There's just one question now.

Where is my swarm?

He went dormant with the swarm sleeping all around him. If he was captured by those bipeds, they must have also caught the sleeping creatures.

They must be trapped elsewhere, or he'd have found them at that weird biped cave... whatever it is.

That path is leading Camazotz straight towards a major coastal city.

A major hub of the US Pacific Fleet.

Home to over 3 Million people.

San Diego, California.

Somewhere in the Indian Ocean

This Monarch Outpost isn't on most maps. Only those in charge of Monarch and Serizawa know that this place even exists far below in the depths.

The Indian government only even knows of the existence of Titanus Na Kika because it falls within their territorial waters.

Kraken, along with several other underwater Titans such as Leviathan, Manda, and Gezora, are all in a precarious situation.

The Outposts dedicated to watching over the dormant creatures lie deep underwater, in a series of airtight tunnels and facilities, usually with an undercover access point on the surface.

When Na Kika was found, she was discovered to have wrapped around a nuclear submarine, having been reported missing by the USSR decades ago, during the Cold War.

This revelation shocked many in the organization. This meant that another Titan was active during the early years of Monarch's existence as an independent organization. It is still unknown why Kraken choose to go dormant, instead of remaining awake to roam the planet's oceans, as Godzilla did at the time.

This massive cephalopod has remained dormant for decades now. Due to a fear that it would reawaken once more, as it did when this submarine went missing, Monarch built a Containment Field around the sleeping Titan.

Due to the facility being underwater, building a functional Kill Switch proved to be a much harder task, one that was not yet completed.

Now, those inside the underwater complex regretted having no Kill Switch installed yet. As communications and alarms came in of other Titans waking up across the planet, Na Kika would not be an exception.

The water-dwelling creature slowly awakened.

Urgh... What now? Kraken was confused. Yes, she had woken up by her choosing not long ago, but what now?

While his intelligent mind was racing, her body had yet to move. His tentacles are stilled wrapped out the remains of this nuclear submarine, always emitting radiation that the giant creatures feed on.

As the muffled Alpha Call continued to ring out, she faintly heard it. So, that's why she had woken up.

While an Alpha Call is supposed to gain the attention of all Titans, even those in dormancy, it does not force them to comply. That's their own choice, however, it is usually a good idea to listen to the Alpha.

Despite this fact, he isn't going to submit. Kraken knows who made that call. The One Who is Many. The False King. The Devil with Three Heads. The others had come up with many names for that Golden Devil. No matter what the others call him, she knows that it is Ghidorah.

The two have never met before. The Three-Headed Devil likely doesn't even know she exists. She lives solely in the watery depths, only rarely venturing to the ocean surface.

How could that monster have possibly won? It seemed like a nightmare to the eight-limbed creature. Godzilla always beat the Invader back into space or forced it to retreat to a barren part of the planet time and time again.

He and Mosura had done a good job keeping that malevolent creature away from the other Titans. The majority have never even heard of him.

No! This... This can't be real! Godzilla couldn't have lost! Despite her wishes, the Alpha Call continued to ring out, the same message going into her ears over and over as the noise rang out across the planet.

Awaken from slumber. Destroy the bipeds. Obey your Alpha.

No. She won't bow to him. Godzilla must still be alive! She willingly followed him in the times long past. While the Alphas that came before Godzilla varied, his rule seemed the most stable. Besides, he has saved her countless times from the other aquatic kaiju.

Including one whose name alone made her shudder in feat. Margygr.

Enough thinking about that. I need to help Godzilla. As much as she hoped that he is still alive, if Ghidorah did win, he may not be. At the very least, if he is dead, she can side with Mosura. She'll surely oppose the Golden Monster.

There is one place she knows where the former King of the Monsters lives. His old home.

She quickly realized that these barriers of light around her would not let her leave. They must have been made by the bipeds to keep a live Titan contained. That means they won't be able to stop a "dead" Titan.

As her heart rate lowered and her radiation signature decreased dramatically, her tentacles began to unwrap from the submarine, beginning to lazily float in the water, as if they no longer had any proper locomotion.

It appeared that Titanus Na Kika had suddenly died. While the Monarch staff in their Outpost were confused about what to do, he sprung into action.

She quickly swam right through the light barriers, restarting her systems to be normal once more. She didn't bother doing anything about the biped's underwater nest thing. However, one of their metal fish is far too close for comfort.

Before it had a moment to react to her, Kraken swiped it with several of her tentacles. It blew up in a muffled underwater fireball.

As she hurriedly swam away, she turned towards the ocean where his lair is. She'll be there soon. Then, Kraken realized something. What even is my gender? One of her abilities is that she can change her gender at will, or even be both at the same time. She would still require a mate to reproduce though. It took a moment to realize that right now, she's a girl.

With that minor issue solved, she continued her course. If Godzilla is alive, she has to find out.

South of Hoboken, New Jersey

When US Government investigations in the area revealed another Titan dormant below the ground, the site was handed over to Monarch.

What they found shocked many of the staff. Memories of San Fransisco were made vivid once again.

A species thought to have gone extinct with MUTO Prime.

A new Jinshin-Mushi.

Underground scans revealed this individual to be a female. However, it appears to be different from the Female MUTO during the chaos back in 2014.

Scientists were still trying to study just how this parasitic species worked. This task was made much harder by the deaths of the only 3 known individuals.

With this discovery, the label "Extinct" could be removed from the Jinshin-Mushi.

Monarch built an above-ground facility, digging into the dirt to reach the cave where this parasitic Titan currently lies dormant.

There likely was an entrance through which the MUTO entered, but it must have been buried long ago. No sign of a tunnel out of the cave exists, apart from the one dug by Monarch.

Just as for most functioning Outposts, this location also has a Kill Switch.

The Kill Switch for what was dubbed the "Queen MUTO" is relatively simple. Once activated, the cave would be completely sealed off within five minutes. Afterward, fans and vents would suck all the air out of the cave, leaving the Jinshin-Mushi to suffocate to death long before it could potentially dig out of the rocky ground and dirt.

The Queen MUTO trilled lowly. Her eyes began to glow with the signature red color of their species.

Her legs shook a bit as limbs that hadn't moved for thousands of years finally bent and shook the ground with every step once more.

She groaned as her body was slowly lifted off the ground.

What... An Alpha Call? That... That can't be right.

This isn't right. She had been in dormancy for a long time.

The call that awakened her. It's not him.

This is someone else.

While not everyone knows who this Devil with Three Heads is, she knows.

Ghidorah.

She's no friend of that Three-Headed Terror.

Neither is the rest of her kind.

When he first arrived, Prime viewed him as no threat. Nowhere near as much of a problem as Gojira, Dagon, and the rest of their kind.

In actuality, Prime thought of him as easy prey. With his entirely electric-based abilities, one of her special moves could leave that Golden Terror with only teeth and claws.

All they would need is one electric-halting stomp, a few Males capable of flight, and he would easily be brought down. Although, Ghidorah made a point of avoiding them after one encounter only a few days after he landed on the planet.

But, how did he win?

The Queen knows Godzilla.

He isn't brought down easily, not even with his atomic breath weakened. At least, not by one individual parasite.

Looking around, the Queen was worried about what she saw. Or rather, what she didn't see. The entrance she used to get in here was gone.

She looked around, a little panicked. She couldn't see any other entrance big enough for her. Yes, there is another tunnel that likely leads out of here, but it's far too small for her to fit through.

The parasitic creature stood where she was, looking around the cave. It is partially lit up by various small... things. They're not the sun, but they still emit light. They aren't alive though.

As far as she could tell, there was only one option to get out of this cave.

Dig.

That task shouldn't be too difficult. While her body isn't made for digging underground, Prime can. How hard could it be for her? She is second in line to succeed her leader, after all. They can't be that different.

The grey-colored parasite walked over to one of the cave walls. This was where she remembered that tunnel being. It's gone now. So, she'd make a new one and get out of here.

First, she tried ramming into the wall. The entire cave shook as loose rocks began to rain down on her and the ground around her legs. The rocky walls cracked, with some weaker pieces of stone breaking off completely, clattering to the dirt below her.

The Jinshin-Mushi backed up, a little dazed from the force of the impact. She wasn't expecting that to be the result.

Okay... This might take a while.

She tried several other methods to break through the rock and dirt. Ramming the wall with her body had... mixed results. They mostly ended with pain and confusion.

Another thing she tried was using her forelimbs. Much bigger and more powerful than a male, she thought that this would have a better effect.

Maybe it did. However, she decided against trying again when one of her legs hit a particularly sharp rock.

She cried out in pain, quickly pulling her forelimbs away from the wall, and back to the ground.

Lifting the injured limb off the dirt, she saw blood. Her blood.

A small amount had already pooled on the ground. Several more drops are dripping down from what she presumed was the cut on the bottom of the limb.

Whatever she did try, it had some sort of drawback.

The one thing she didn't try was an EMP. After all, what good would knocking out electric power be in digging through stone and dirt?

As the female Titan continued her slow but steady progressing effort, the scientists and workers at the Monarch Outpost quickly noticed she was active.

They activated the Kill Switch, and the creature locked underground was completely unaware.

The Queen continued her efforts at digging through the ground. She got through most of the rocks and was now moving dirt.

She paused after hearing a strange clanking noise. Looking around, she couldn't see anything that had changed. So, she went back to her current task.

Unknown to her, that noise was created by the doors to the vehicle tunnel closing tight. Everyone had long since fled the underground section of the Outpost. The vents and fans began to activate. Just as intended, the air inside the cave began to get sucked outside.

The Queen didn't notice the disturbance at first.

After ramming the wall again with such force, she paused. Backing up, the Queen decided to wait for a moment once again. Let herself rest for a moment and catch her breath.

That's when she realized. Less air was going into her lungs. Panicked, she look around, her breaths now only more quickly.

Not knowing what to do about this, she did one thing.

Lifting one of her legs off the ground, she charged it. The leg began to glow a sort of red-orange color at the tip. She slammed it into the ground with such force that the whole cave shook again. Instantaneously, that strange whirring sound stopped, and all the lights went out, leaving the cave in near total silence and darkness.

Breathing was still a little difficult, but it isn't getting worse.

The Queen Jinshin-Mushi went back to digging. It would take some time, but she would get out of here.

During a small break, she decided to lie down and rest her legs. Not wanting to sit idle, she let out a roar. One only another parasite could recognize. A cry for help.

Prime is the best at digging. She could make a tunnel in a lot less time. Even if any other male or female showed up instead, she wouldn't deny aid.

After a moment, no response. Odd. Prime should have heard that.

While her relations with Prime are... complicated, she still holds all the power over their parasitic species.

While she was vaguely aware of a Male and Female a while back, she doesn't know what happened to them. While dormant, she heard their mating calls. She only rose out of total slumber to hear that, before going back to sleep.

After many hours, the Queen finally broke through the surface. The sun is shining brightly overhead. Looking around the area, she could see some biped nests nearby.

However, what she saw next caught the Queen off guard. A male Jinshin-Mushi.

The male trilled in greeting, landing on the ground in front of the Queen.

Shocked, the grounded parasite had only one thought. I'm not the last one.

Somewhere in the Hollow Earth

Zilla dove into the water, her eyes firmly watching a panicked Genitor. The armored fish swam as fast as its fins could take it. The effort was futile, as the bipedal creature caught it in her mouth.

She bit down on it hard. A sickening cracking sound filled her ears, and she no longer felt it struggling. The creature is dead.

Looking around this deep lake, she could see many more of those armored fish, as well several Mire Squids and other large aquatic animals.

Swimming for the surface of the blue water, she reached it relatively quickly. Her legs kicked effortlessly through the water. Her kind is made for faster movement and agility. Part of that is faster and better movement underwater.

Once she broke through the surface, her nostrils took in a breath of fresh air.

That feeling is always so relieving and even... fun.

Zilla's eyes blinked a couple of times as she adjusted her vision back to normal air.

Her legs are doing most of the work as the kicks in the water pushed her back to the shoreline.

Soon enough, her feet began to touch the bottom of the lake. Now, she is walking.

As Zilla completely rose out of the water, torrents of the liquid fell off her shimmering scales as it dripped off and either back into the water or in various puddles in the dirt.

Zilla looked forward, and a content rumbling sound emerged from her throat. These armored fish are one of her favorite meals. However, as much as she'd like to devour the dead animal right now, she has mouths to feed back at their nest.

Besides, it's for the best that she hurry. While her mate is affectionate and means well, he can bit of a... well...

That incompetent mess better be watching the hatchlings

As she walked along, she saw a few of those vulture things.

Three of those animals squawked at each other as they fly through the air.

She instinctively ducked down a bit. Those scavengers are always looking for a meal. They would pester her to no end to make her drop this fish.

Then, the ground began to go downhill. The next step she took was a bit further into the ground, but it doesn't feel like dirt.

Wait a minute... Oh crap!

Before she could take another step, the Shimidah clamped its jaws down hard on her foot. The sharp teeth instantly drew blood.

Zilla roared in pain, barely avoiding dropping her catch. She pulled hard to get away from the ditch.

The Shimidah screeched in surprise as it was forcefully pulled out of his hole.

His small eyes widened in surprise upon realizing what it had tried to eat.

The creature quickly let go, his mouth unwrapping from her ankle. Its teeth are stained in the crimson liquid, while the frightened burrower backed up.

Zilla seethed in pain, glancing down at her bloody leg. It stung badly as it bled without end for the moment.

She snarled in anger at the Shimidah.

For its part, the subterranean dweller cried out in fear, recoiling back. It's an ambush predator that eats anything that walks into his waiting jaws. The problem of only its mouth being out of the dirt and rocks is that he can't see what's above it, only feel.

And when out of the ground, the creature might as well be as defenseless as a moth larva.

The atomic breather growled in anger. Yes, that Shimidah had hunted how their kind normally does, but it still went after her.

Before either could reach again, both heard a faint and somewhat muffled roar. An Alpha Call.

The Shimidah chirped in curiosity, turning his head to look around.

Zilla growled in response, her eyes narrowing.

The Devil with Three Heads. That monster that terrorized the surface often, tried to dethrone Godzilla and claim it as his many times.

Both animals had their reactions. The Shimidah chittered in apology to Zilla, before walking off slowly in the direction of that lake. It would need to get rid of the blood in its mouth before preparing its normal ambush trap.

Zilla began limping off back to her nest. However, her mind wasn't focusing on the pain in her leg with every step. No, her thoughts on what's going on on the Surface.

How could Gojira have lost?

It seemed unreal. Maybe she could do something. Either way, she wondered how he would handle this news from outside of their subterranean home.

This is my first story ever, so to anyone new, thanks for giving this a try! Also, I CAN NOT state this enough. This is a REWRITE of my previous Prologue. The next couple of chapters are short, clunky, and riddled with grammar issues. They are much poorer in quality than this. I am working on rewriting those too. Beyond chapter four things improve. You have been warned!
