"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING?" Hiro shouted at Kai, who stood in the doorway. The shadows made him look haunted and gaunt. Rain spattered from the doorway with the pitch black night behind him. Water dripped off his clothes. Both hands were supported against the doorposts and one foot was on its tip just over the threshold water slipped off the black boot and dampened the peach carpet. Kai's black jacket had been carelessly ripped. The moon shone faintly in the sky behind him but that only added to the awkward effect. Kai's eyes were obscured by slate coloured bangs.
"Out" was all he said. (A/N you have no idea the urge to write 'hangin' but out is more understandable).
"Out! It's bloody midnight!" yelled Hiro, his hands on his hips. "What kind of example is that to the team? Staying out this late with no one knowing where you were. I am grounding you!"
Kai hmphed laughingly, "You can't ground me, I'm the captain and I had a meeting."
"What kind of meeting Kai?" shouted Hiro, "what kind of meeting brings you back in the dead of night with your clothes all ripped up?"
"You're not my mother" Kai bit out coldly.
"Who did you meet with Kai! What meeting was it?"
"Business" said Kai, turning around and closing the door.
"You're the captain! You're responsible for the team! What if they were challenged in the middle of the night! You're supposed to be there for the team. Some captain, and yes, as coach of the BBA Revolution I will ground you!"
"You're coach of the BBA Revolution but not the Bladebreakers!" Kai retorted, glaring fiercely through fiery eyes at Hiro. "And no one will get at the team; I will make sure of that."
"You will then huh?" shouted Hiro, "while you're on the other side of the city doing dodgy business and who knows what.
"I don't do drugs if that's what you mean" said Kai, narrowing his eyes dangerously at the collar of Hiro's nightshirt, not meeting his eye.
He swung around and decided to call it a night; he left the front door open.
The rest of the Bladebreakers peeked round the corner of the doorway behind Hiro's back. Tyson fake yawned and cheerfully asked, "what was all that about big bro?"
"Go to sleep Tyson" he said.
"What about Kai? It's raining and he's out there on his own" said Tyson.
"He should know better and he doesn't live here Tyson, he can't walk around anytime he pleases."
Tyson protested, "We all live here when we're a team! You didn't see us last year and the year before and the year before that."
"Leave Kai. We're all going to bed."
Kai finally found a tree he thought looked most comfortable and leaping up, fell asleep on a branch.
Hiro was in his own bedroom. Tyson had been distraught when Kai had left the team, now Daichi was back on his home land with his own monkey team Kai needed some serious controlling.
Was that a good enough start? I have lots planned, I actually have a plot for this story! I'll probably be updating this one more often. It's the Easter holidays! Yippeee! I've still got 2 eggs, 2 crème eggs, little Thorntons eggs and a bunny and lolly to eat!
