"I love you so much, Lily. I don't know what I would do if I lost you."

James Potter and Lily Evans were on the loveseat in front of the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room. It was around midnight and they were the only ones there. He was holding her in his arms while she was laying on him staring at the fire. Lily felt safe in his arms. Lily smiled. She didn't want to lose him either. He meant everything to her.

"I love you too, James. You mean the world to me. I never want to let you go."

James smiled. He had waited seven years for her to say that. They had been dating for three months and he loved her more and more each day. He wanted to be with her for the rest of his life.

"Lily?"

"Hmm?"

Lily looked into James' beautiful hazel eyes. He got up and told her to wait there. Lily sat on the loveseat and waited for her lover to come back. They had dated for three months and Lily knew that without James, she couldn't bear living. Finally, James came back with the Marauder's Map and his invisability cloak.

"Let's go to the lake" James said. Lily agreed.

They both went under the cloak and made their way to the lake. When they got there, James took the cloak off them.

"It's a beautiful night." Lily said. She loved looking at the night sky. She dipped her feet into the lake. The water had ripples in it. It was freezing, but she didn't mind. James sat next to her.

"Yeah, it is. Lily, I have to ask you something." He was really nervous about what he was going to do. He took a big breath. He got up and Lily followed suit. Lily looked at him, puzzled. Merlin, she's gorgeous, he thought.

"Lily, we've been going out for three months and since that day on I've loved you more and more each day. I can't stand a day without you. I love you more than life itself."

Lily had tears in her eyes. She was smiling. James continued,

"What I'm trying to say is," he got on one knee and took out a small box. Lily gasped.

"Lily Ann Evans, will you have the honor of marrying me?" He opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

"Oh, James! It's beautiful." Lily hugged him and kissed him passionatley. After a few minutes, they broke apart for breath.

"You didn't give me an answer, my love." Lily rolled her eyes. She decided to play around with him.

"I don't know. Hmmm..." she enjoyed watching James squirm. He looked really nervous. Lily laughed out loud. James looked at her. She looks more beautiful when she laughs James thought.

"Oh, James, of course I'll marry you. I love you so much." he smiled. He slid the ring on her finger. He kissed her with all the passion he had for her and Lily kissed him back the same way.

During their kiss, a shooting star shot passed them. Lily noticed this and broke off.

"Look James. A shoting star. Make a wish." James looked up at the sky and made his wish.

I wish that Lily and I will love each other forever and have the happiest life ever.

While James was making his wish, Lily made her wish looking up at the sky.

I wish that James and I will love each other no matter what and be together until the end of our lives.

After they made their wish, they looked back at each other, with love, happiness, and kindness in their eyes- something both of them yearned for all their lives.

James kissed Lily once again, but even more passionatley, if possible. It was a longer and more loving kiss that only two people truly in love could share. Once they broke apart, it started raining. They didn't care though. All they saw and felt were each other.

And again, they kissed each other on a beautiful clear night, in the rain, near the river.
