I do not own X-Men Evolution or the MCAS if I was it would not be existing at the moment. These stories are based on true stories. Here is the one shot for Hear Our Voices.
Kitty Pryde came home from school and dragged herself up to her room. Only one more month until the MCAS and homework was piling up. Rogue came in groaning followed by some other students from the mansion.
"I am so not doing my homework now." Tabitha complained.
"Well we have to.' Rogue said.
"Oh that's right because it's for the MCAS." Tabitha snapped.
"Remember last year when that girl got so stressed out that she had to get dismissed because of a head ache?" Bobby asked.
"Nobody likes the MCAS except some of the teachers." Amara piped up.
"Exactly. The MCAS was for the teachers and then they changed it on the kids. The problem with the MCAS is that the teachers don't know what's going on with the MCAS so they just cram everything in at once." Jubilee said.
"I know, Kitty remember you cam home so stressed out once that you burst out crying as soon as you took out your homework?"
"Yeah I remember, I also remember that time I heard on the news that if you didn't pass the MCAS test you didn't graduate. Then there's the whole no child left behind thing. That's not true at all. If you don't get it, you stay behind. You don't get the help you need. If you do get help it's either for a minute or 5 minutes, or you have a student helping you instead of the teacher." Kitty replied.
"I wish they didn't do that. Then we don't have the summer to ourselves anymore. We have summer calendars, books to read, reports to do, by the time you get to enjoy the summer it's over."
"Then it turns out that you didn't have to do anything on the book anyway!" Kitty exclaimed.
"They don't keep on reviewing the lesson either. They just work on it for a week, then move onto the next thing. Then the test comes and you have know idea what they're talking about. They also wonder why children don't like reading, well here's an idea, because they don't give them any good books to read so they pull farther and farther away from reading."
"And now they're starting to have KINDERGARTNERS do the MCAS isn't that unbelievable?" Amara said.
"Yeah it is. I am so sick and tired of not having a life anymore. No time to practice instruments, no time to practice for competitions, and so on and so forth." Kitty said.
"Well I know we're just a bunch of stupid kids, but one of these days I am going to stop the MCAS once and for all. Put your hands in if you agree." Rogue said holding out her hand.
The rest of the kids put their hands on top of hers. "AGREED!"
I know this was kind of weird, but I have gotten so stressed out over this whole MCAS crap and I just had to write about it and get my feelings out and see if you people agree. Please R&R, and if you have any stories that you've heard about the MCAS please write it in your review. Thank you!
