The screen turned on to show a bright sunny day. The camera panned down to show a giant building towering over a tall blonde boy. He was wearing a white short-sleeved buttoned-down shirt underneath a black waiters vest, khaki shorts, and a light-gray pork pie hat.

"TK!" Everyone screamed.

"So we'll be watching TK's future," Izzy deduced.

"Yeah, I think we can all see that," Davis said sarcastically.

"But what is that building? I know it's a school but I can't remember what it's called," Joe said while thinking out loud.

"That's Hope's Peak Academy," Cody answered. "They scout high school students who are considered to be Ultimates in their fields like kendo, soccer, or programming. They say if you graduate, you'll be set for life."

"So if TK is attending Hope's Peak then what do you think he's the Ultimate of?" Sora asked everyone.

"He must be the Ultimate Basketball player! We've all seen Teeks play and it would be a crime if he's not the best player in Japan!" Tai said, causing TK to sink into his seat.

"I'm not that good," TK said bashfully.

"Never mind that, look at how tall he is!" Mimi pointed out.

TK sank lower in his seat as he was not a fan of all the attention he was getting.

'I can't believe I'm attending Hope's Peak Academy.' He looked down at the form that was sent to him, instructing him where to go when he arrived. 'I still remember the call telling me I've been enrolled into this place after winning their lottery.'

"Lottery?" Yolie repeated before turning to Cody. "I thought you said that students were scouted."

"Well, only 15 Ultimate students are scouted while 1 is decided by a lottery. The winner of the lottery is considered to be the Ultimate Lucky student

'I was so close to turning them down, saying that I'd miss seeing my friends, but my best friend, Kari, said I would be the biggest idiot in the world to turn down this offer.'

"Couldn't you have been a little kinder, Kari?" TK asked her under everyone's laughter.

"Sorry, TK, but you heard what Cody said. It's nice that you want to stay with us but you would be a huge idiot to pass up the chance to be set for life," Kari told him while trying to suppress her own laughter.

The screen showed TK walking to the school as he continued his inner monologue.

'I didn't want to come completely unprepared, so my friends and I decided to go onto a couple of internet forums to learn more about my future classmates. I will admit that it was a little disheartening to learn that I'll be sharing a class with the likes of the Ultimate High School-Level Programmer, Ultimate High School-Level Swimmer, and the Ultimate High School-Level Baseball Player, seeing how they worked hard to achieve their titles and were scouted and I just got lucky.'

"Yeah, I can see how you would feel inferior to everyone else. I mean, we all would feel inferior to people who have accomplished so much to be considered an Ultimate," Ken said.

"But should that really matter? If they all made it into the same school then doesn't that make them all equal," Davis said, causing everyone to look at him weirdly. "What? Why are you guys looking at me like that?"

"We never thought you could say something so… smart. It's just so shocking," Yolie answered.

"I'm not a total idiot!"

"Don't worry about it, Davis. They used to look at me like that whenever I said something smart. They'll stop after they get used to it," Tai told the second leader to make him feel better.

TK tried to shake the negative thoughts from his head as he sighed.

'Though Matt did try to make me feel better by pointing out that the Ultimate High School-Level Fanfic Creator and Ultimate High School-Level Clairvoyant. Which did make me feel a little better, though if I'm being honest, didn't really help. If someone has the ultimate trait of a fanfic writer or clairvoyant and they were scouted by Hope's Peak, means they worked hard for their title and they accomplished more than he did.'

"Ok, I can see how a baseball player, a swimmer, and a programmer could get scouted but I don't get how a fanfic creator or clairvoyant could," Matt pointed out. "I think being lucky and winning the school's lottery is a better look than being an Ultimate fanfic creator or clairvoyant."

"True, but you heard what that TK said, they worked hard to become an Ultimate, even if their talent is silly or useless," Sora told the older blond.

"I guess, but I'm still confused. Out of every talented student, why would they would enroll a fanfic creator and clairvoyant?" Matt hummed.

The scene changed when TK reached the school's door. The screen showed Mimi excitedly showing TK magazines with a girl around his age on the cover.

'There was this one student that Mimi was excited about, the Ultimate High School-Level Fashionista. She went on and on about how lucky I am to meet someone so famous, even showed me a few of her magazine covers. I will admit, she is pretty, but I just don't see how she could be the Ultimate High School-Level Fashionista.'

"Wow, you did not just say that," Davis snickered.

"What?" TK asked.

"You pretty much inadvertently called a girl ugly," Yolie told him.

"But I did say she was pretty," TK pointed out.

"You did but you don't think she's pretty enough to be the Ultimate Fashionista," Mimi said while disappointingly shaking her head. "You need to be more considerate, TK."

"I only said it in my head, it's not like I said it to her face!" TK argued.

The scene changed back to show TK walking into Hope's Peak.

'Patamon wanted to come with me today, but I decided to leave him with Kari, seeing that today will just be the Welcome Ceremony, there would be nothing for him to do and he'll be lonely because the others will be at my old high school.'

"Oh right, I wonder how our Digimon are? We just disappeared out of nowhere so they must be worried," Sora dolefully said.

"I'm sure they're fine, Sora. You heard what the disembodied voice said when all of this is over we'll be sent back and they wouldn't have even noticed we were gone," Tai said and gave her a toothy grin.

TK looked around and admired the interior design of the private academy.

'Even though I feel like I don't deserve this opportunity, I know one thing is for certain. I will do my best and graduate from Hope's Peak Academy.'

"Why would the disembodied voice want us to stop this future from happening?" Davis asked out loud. "We're pretty much watching TJ go through high school, and I for one don't want to ruin the chances of one of us being set for life."

"Yeah, I'm really not seeing anything concerning," Yolie agreed with the goggle head.

"We were summoned here for a reason. I don't think the disembodied voice just wanted to show us me attending high school," TK tried to reason the situation.

"Maybe if we keep watching then we'll know what we need to prepare for," Kari suggested.

TK looked at the form and sighed.

"They said this was the place where we'll be meeting," TK looked at the elegant clock in the corner. It read 7:25 am. "I guess the train ride here was faster than I expected. The meeting doesn't start until 8:00, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to look around for a bit."

TK put the form in his pocket and made his way to one of the hallways. When he took one step in one of the corridors his vision started to blur as the world around him started to swirl into darkness.

"What's happening?" TK said before hitting the floor with a loud thud before the screen went dark.

Everyone looked on in surprise with their mouths agape. It took a full minute until someone was able to speak.

"What the heck happened?!" Mimi exclaimed

"He just collapsed out of nowhere," Joe managed to say.

Matt angrily gripped the armrests on his seat. Even though the TK on the screen wasn't exactly his brother, it didn't change the fact that he was extremely worried about him.

"Are you feeling ok, TK?" Kari worriedly asked her best friend.

"Yeah, I just… man," TK ran a hand through his hair. He was a little weirded out seeing his future self, but now he didn't know what to feel. He was a little scared but he also wasn't. He knows that it was him on screen but it also wasn't.

"Hey, the screen's turning on!" Ken pointed out and everyone instantly glued their eyes back onto the screen.

The screen showed that TK was no longer in the school's main hallway but sleeping in an empty classroom. He then slowly woke up and appeared to be lost.

"How did I get here?" He asked no one since he was the only one in the room. "Did someone drag me here? Because if that's the case, then why didn't they take me to the nurse's office if they saw me lying on the floor?"

He caught something in the corner of his eye and made his way to where the windows would be, but instead of a clear view of the outside world, it was a big metallic plate bolted to the wall covering the window.

"Why are the windows covered?" TK made his way to the windows and even tried to unscrew one of the bolts. But no matter how hard he tried, the bolt didn't move an inch. "It's no use, that's not coming off."

"Why are the windows covered?" Cody said out loud.

"It definitely isn't for safety," Joe said.

"Never mind that, who moved TK into that room? He said it himself if they saw him passed out then why not bring him to the nurse's office?" Matt angrily pointed out.

"Maybe if we keep watching then we will find out," Tai said to calm down his friend.

TK also spotted a surveillance camera hanging off the wall.

"It would make sense that a prestigious school like Hope's Peak would have some of the best surveillance equipment."

"That's creepy! No high school would have cameras like that in their classrooms," Mimi shrieked.

He checked the clock on the wall to see how much time had passed.

"It's 8:00, so I haven't been knocked out for too long. But how did I end up in this classroom?"

TK checked the desk that he woke up on to see if there were any clues as to how he got there and saw that there was a note laying on his desk.

"How did I not notice this before?" TK picked up the note and the scene changed to show the note. It has a doodle on it, which looks like a kid's drawing of Hope's Peak Academy. But it also reads:

"Hey ther e new kid!

The next semester is about to start.

Starting today, this School will be your entire world"

"What does this mean?" TK asked, hoping for anyone to answer, but he was all alone. "This school will be my entire world, metal plates covering the windows, waking up in a different place than I was before! Am I even in Hope's Peak or is this some kind of makeshift prison disguised as a school?"

"Well, he's definitely in a school. Whether it's Hope's Peak or not is still left to be determined," Izzy concluded.

"But isn't it still a prison? The metal plates make me believe that whoever put them there doesn't want anyone to escape or to break in," Yolie added. "Plus whoever wrote that note really doesn't want TK to leave."

"Do you guys think that a Digimon could've done this?" Davis suggested.

"That could be a possibility, but I don't know," TK answered. In both of his adventures, he never faced a Digimon who went out to imprison him. There were Digimon that did set up traps but they had the intent to kill him after trapping him, not locking him up.

TK began to breathe and began to think about a reasonable explanation for all of this.

"Maybe this is all just one big prank set up by the faculty and upperclassmen to mess with the incoming students," TK told himself, hoping that he'll believe his own reasoning. It didn't work as well as he had hoped, but since he didn't have any other explanation for his predicament, he had no choice but to believe it.

"No, it isn't. No upperclassmen would set up a prank this convoluted," Matt said. "And if this was set up by one of the teachers then they would lose their job and could be arrested."

"Yeah, at most an upperclassman would do a wet eraser prank or kick a seat out from under you. This could be a crime," Tai added.

"Well, seeing that it's a few minutes past 8:00, I should head to the main hallway because that's where the form says where we'll be holding our meeting."

TK exited the classroom into a giant hallway that is illuminated by an ominous purple light.

"This is comforting," TK said in a sarcastic tone as he moved down the hallway. "Do I even know how to get back to the main hallway? It's not like I have a map or anything."

"I'm getting some serious horror movie vibes. It would've been fine if we weren't watching TK," Yolie commented.

"At least we know he's still in a school," Ken said.

He walked up to a corridor with a sign that read "Despair Hotel." Weirded out by it, and assuming that's not where he was supposed to go, TK chose to ignore it and walk in the opposite direction of that corridor.

TK continued along the hallway, checking multiple doors, which were all locked, one was even taped off. There was an ominous red door that he didn't feel comfortable enough checking. He reached a door with a green exit sign above it, seeing that he couldn't find any other exits, TK assumed this was the way back to the main hallway.

After a short walk, TK began to hear the faint sound of people talking. Realizing that he isn't alone, TK quickened his pace before emerging into a giant room with a giant safe-like door and two turrets hanging from the ceiling, with fourteen people inside.

"Oh my gosh!" Mimi yelled.

"Holy crap! What type of school needs guns!?" Davis also yelled.

"I don't think a Digimon set this up," Kari said.

"Hey let's ignore the turrets for a second and look at the positives. At least we know TK isn't alone," Sora said to calm everyone down.

"But is that a good thing?" Izzy said with skepticism.

"Whoa, hey! Another new kid?" TK heard a slightly gruff voice say from the crowd.

"Wait, then you guys are…?" TK was quickly answered by a young boyish voice.

"Yeah… We're all new here. Today's supposed to be our first day of class."

"So counting him, that makes fifteen. Seems like a good cut-off point, but I wonder if this is everyone…" said a high-pitched nerdy voice.

'I can't believe it, standing before me are the Ultimate Students that were selected by the school,' TK said in his head.

"So these are the Ultimates… I don't really see what's so special about them," Davis said. "They just look like any other high school student.

"Well, that's because they are," TK told him. "But I have to say, it's kind of comforting to know that I won't be alone."

"I guess but I would still be freaking out if I were in your position," Mimi said.

"Hey, you need to take the good with the bad, and maybe it's not as bad as we're making it out to be," TK said with a hopeful tone.

"Plated windows, a safe-like door, and turrets… I highly doubt it," Matt said to himself.
