SERENDIPITY

chapter / twenty one talk

TWO DAYS AGOβ€”

The crackle of the leaves with each step that the original siblings along with Sage, took filled up their ears. Klaus had an off feeling, which is something completely normal when dealing with his mother but there was something much more going on.

His mind drifted to the blonde girl who changed him in a short amount of time, now he will not change completely, there is reason he is feared and it will stay that way. But a part of him wanted to be better, but only for her. Klaus quickly snapped out of his thoughts as they all had entered their home.

Their home was empty, the open space felt closed, almost suffocating to the four siblings in such an odd way. Sage clung onto Finn, the vibe of the home was toxicating, as the further they entered the home, the heavier it became by the second. Finn put his hand over his redhead, observing the home, "She isn't here."

"No she isn't," muttered Rebekah, clearing the kitchen and living room but it was empty. Elijah unbuttoned the jacket of his suit, as it felt like someone was strangling a rope around his neck. His eyes scanned his sibling's tense posture, "Where could mother have gone?"

Not a single answer to Elijah's question. Because it is a question that clouds their minds. Kol froze as the painting on the wall wasn't there before, or was it?

He couldn't remember but he carefully moved his way closer to it. Observing the painting of the dark, gloomy woods, the trees standing tall and haunting as clouded fog surrounded them. His eyes shift seeing a blonde girl on the floor clutching down with red surrounding her, as a girl with curly hair and melin skin was on her knees.

Kol's eyes widened in retaliation as he turned to his siblings and Sage, "We need to find Bonnie and Caroline."

Rebekah took a step forward confused as her eyes shifted to the painining on the wall. She did see the similarities between the two girls to the girls in the painting.

An unsettling feeling fell upon her. Rebakh tilted her head, "Maybe it's just a coincidence?"

The brothers all gave their sister a pointed look as Rebekah shrugged, "Sometimes we all dig into something too deep when the answer is right in front of us."

"You are very right my daughter."

They all turned around to see Esther standing with a slight smirk on her face. Klaus clenched his fist but he knew Elijah and Finn were better at this to handle then him. Finn took a step with his eyes holding a cold look, "Mother."

Esther shifted her gaze to Finn, "My eldest son, how you betrayed me."

Kol snickered, "He didn't betray you, he finally opened his eyes to the wannabe voldemort you are."

"Kol," muttered Klaus, with a slight warning in his tone. Rebekah furrowed her brows, "Wrong movie reference for this case."

Elijah shook his head at his younger siblings' antics. Esther ignored them as she took a step forward, "Whatever you my children strive to achieve, is all over."

Elijah took a step forward standing next to Finn, "What do you mean mother?"

Esther did not reply as she moved to the living room sitting on the couch. Klaus had enough of her antics, his tone becoming very harsh and almost in a mocking manner, "What do you want, dearest mother?"

Esther crossed her legs as she mumbled a spell under her breath that caused all of the vampires to yell out of pain. As they crouch down, putting their hands over their head. Klaus gritted out of pain, "Stop this mother."

Esther gave them a smile as she shook her head, "I'm sorry my children but you are in the way of who I really want."

The mikaelsons crouched down in pain as Kol shook his head, their mother's goal was to get rid of them, what the hell was she talking about?

His eyes drifted back to painting, how the hell did that moment escape his brain if he just saw it not even an hour ago?

"Klaus," whispered Kol to his third eldest brother. Klaus gritted his teeth in pain as he glanced at his younger brother who is guestering his head to the right side. Klaus shifted his gaze to the painting. His brain immediately went to his blonde girl.

The bigger question was why did he forget about the brief mention of the painting?

Klaus yelped out pain as a burning sensation was across his wrist. The fiery sensation spread through his body with undeianble pain. He shut his eyes as the flashes of blonde hair appeared in his mind. The appropriate fires are summoning rather than scorching, as are the correct emotions and soul is trying to connect to his blonde girl.

He glanced down at his mark slowly fading?

Klaus shifted his gaze from his wrist to his mother as he hissed at her, "What are you doing?"

Esther crouched down, "What is best for everyone, my son. That girl is not good for you or for any of us, neither are her children."

Rebekah shook her head in disappointment, "Mother, they are babies. Completely harmless."

Esther nodded slowly, as she let out a sigh, "Yes but their sacrifice mean nothing compare to all of us living."

Kol began to trumble as his body shook in despair. Sage's eyes widen as she glanced at Esther, "What are you doing to him?"

Esther did not reply as she moved to her youngest son. Bending down Esther grabs a hold of his arm, seeing a light ink being drawn on his skin. She narrowed her eyes, "Soulmate bond."

Kol's eyes widened as he tried to grab hold of his wrist but his mother had firm hold on it. As the pain in his head and wrist was making it hard for him to come to a understanding of his surroundings.

Esther sighs standing up, "I'm sorry my children but it is for the best."

Finn shook his head in disappotiment, "Mother, don't do this."

Esther shakes her head as a certain amount of guilt prevails to her children. Esther sighs, "I'm not killing you, my children. I'm doing this to protect you all, from her."

All the siblings and Sage had confused looks on them; what was she talking about?

Esther sighs as she moves to the living room, "Don't worry about your father. I will handle it."

Fear creeped over the siblings as they huddled in the ground out of pain. Elijah shifted his eyes as his voice crokaed out of pain, "What are you talking about mother? Father should be gone."

"Yes he should," muttered Esther but shaking her head, she glanced at her son, "The doppelgΓ€nger had woken him up, but I will handle it as I said."

Rebeakh shook her head as a slight ringing had entered her head. The blonde original gritted out of pain, "Is still wrong harming those children."

Esther sighs crouching down in front of her daughter, "I know but I have to protect you all from her."

Klaus shook his head in anger and frustration. His mother always made it her goal to get rid of them, especially him. She was not making sense at all. His eyes flashed amber goal, "From who?"

Esther snapped her head to her son as fear washed over her eyes that was noticed by all her children and Sage. Each furrowing their brows in confusion as to what was there mother afraid of. Esther stood up, hovering all over them as she let out shivers out of fear.

"My sister."

PRESENT DAY, NEW ORLEANSβ€”

The three witches located at the cermentry had huddled with worry in their eyes. Everything they planned to prevent had worked to a certain extent. The amount of damage and despair they were trying to repair has become a thin thread haninging freely, ready to be torn apart.

The brunette witch shook her head as they saw a man enter the ritual ground. The redhead took step forward, "You were suppose to prevent the sacfice of those four young witches, Vincent."

Vincet had shune his head down as his eyes closed at the softness of a hand caressing his cheek. He opened to stare at delicate brown orbs, "Don't mind her, I know you did your best to prevent it."

Vincent still could not speak at the shock factor of all the mythical stories that he was told as a child were real and infront of his eyes. He took a step forward, "How bad is it for all of us?"

The blonde witch that was quiet as her mind was plunged with visions. Her own nails digging into her pale milky skin as blood was dropped across her arm. The horrendous sight that crossed her mind as if she were there.

The undeniable blood shed that is consmued as the poor blonde vampire is left alive with empty heart and soul. The blonde witch opened her eyes as she noticed her two sisters in everything but blood; staring at her in worry.

The blonde witch shifts her eyes to Vincent who currently was on the ground unconscious. The brunette witch waved her off, "He is fine. Now what did you see?"

"Ashes," muttered the blonde witch. The ashy, dark dust filled the atmosphere, as it plague her body as if it were an infectious disease waiting out to feed into her soul slowly. The blonde witch closes her eyes, "One of the children dies."

The two witches gasp at the revelation their sister saw. The redhead felt the burst of anger as she pushed off the brunette to the side, "This is your fault. You sent a pregnant woman back in time with no instructions. All she was left with was the dull advice and her knowledge of what she lived. She doesn't even know the actual reason why she is back in time."

The brunette witch glared at her as she stood up, dusting the bit of dirt on her pants off. Her brown orbs stared right to the green ones, "I did what I could. The rest was up to her to handle and she did, it was not her fault or ours that things had altered from our original plan."

"Then what?"

The two glaring witches turned to the blonde witch with a pained expression on her. The blonde witch took a step forward, "She will lose a child and everything from there goes downhill. Vengeance will consume her."

The blonde witch sighs, "Nothing is more dangerous than a grieving mother wanting to avenge their child."

"Agreed," mumbles the brunette witch; the oldest out of the three. The one who was supposed to protect her, the children, and the bennett witch. Instead they are in more danger than they were originally supposed to be in.

The redhead witch shook her head and tears streaming down her cheeks, turning to the blonde witch, "What else did you see?"

The blonde witch did not move from her position as if she were paralyzed to stay in that position. The bitterness fell over, "Madness and destruction across everything. We need to prevent it."

The redhead witch shook her head, "How? Do we reset everything and send her back to the moment she arrived, or do we just wait for it to play out?"

The older brunette witch shook her hair in despair, "She is already here. Sending her back again could have more consequences just from the amount of magic involved to do the spell, but that could be our last plan if nothing works out."

The brunette witch rubs her temples in frustration, "Maybe she was the wrong one."

The redhead snapped as she grabbed hold of her, "Don't you say that. No one could have done this but her, yet everything has not worked because obviously her preventing things would be easy as she had the knowledge but no one prepared her on what she was actually supposed to prevent."

The brunette witch pulls her arm but the redhead gripped tighter and sneered at her, "All this sacfrice that trembles beneath is from your duty, is all because you did not do it correctly."

The bruntter witch gritted teeth, "Or maybe we gave her too much credit? Because to me it seems everything she touches falls apart."

"Well that girl is curretty holding everything together."

The two glaring witches snapped to see the blonde witch in despair. The blonde witch stood up, "We choose Caroline for this and we must put our faith in her. In order for this to work we must ensure through it all that the soulmate bond stays intact regardless of any other factors."

The two witches nodded as the older brunette witch sighs, "Then we can only prevent one thing from our end, the rest is up to her."

MYSTIC FALLSβ€”

Bonnie kneels on the ground, her hands hoovering her blonde friend's unconscious body. The slight powerful energy burst into her viens as she mutters a spell under her breath. The guilt creeps as the undeniable fear shakes her core.

A chaotic merge of wind bursts throught the woods but she could not see, only feel the cold slap hit her fragile body as she tried to concertates. A wild hawk shrieked from above.

The wind ripped through her hair from behind her as the continuous breeze swept it over her face, blocking her mind. Her chest wrenched and whirled as the stones under her shifted, pushing her into a darker mind set.

Her breathing got heavy as the burst of energy she felt was going away as weakness sprung into her slowly. It was if someone had pushed her down a hill into a slow, inexorable death.

"Bonnie?"

"Bonster?"

Bonnie recognized the two voices as the trumble fear creeped into her as why was her friend not waking up or healing?

"Bonnie stop the spell."

Bonnie felt her body violently shaking as dripples of water came down, the scent of dirt filled her up. The nausea set in. Bonnie gasps, tears coming down on her. She felt Kai kneel down beside her, "Hey you are okay."

Bonnie tugged on his hold. Her hands grasping tightly on his shirt as her skinny arms wrapped around his neck as she clung on him like she was dying. She just wanted to be a little girl again, with her grams holding her tightly and feeding her the best chocolate chips cookies.

She pulled away, wiping her tears away, her green orbs glaring at both Kai and Stefan, "Tell anyone I cried like baby, I will end you both. Understood?"

The two men laughed out and nodded knowing the Bennett witch was not playing around. Kai helped Bonnie up as she let out a sigh, seeing her friend still uncouius. Stefan moved closer to them, "Why is she not waking up?"

"Not sure," muttered Kai. His gaze is still on the blonde as they had come to do a rescue mission but they need Clarice awake first. A soft yelp broke his thoughts as he saw Bonnie crouched on the ground.

The Bennett witch yelled out of pain, as a burning sensation was smudged into her body. She clenched onto herself to find some form of relif but it did not work. She rubbed her wrist fiercely hard not caring that it was creating a burn friction on her skin.

Bonnie could hear the worry tone coming from Stefan, "Bonnie?"

Bonnie did not anwer as she pulled her hand away from her wrist to see ink being imprinted on it. Her green orbs widened as she muttered to herself, "The bond."

Kai shook his head helping her up, "We need to leave."

Bonnie nods trying to stand up but falls as Kai helps her balance, as half her weight is on him. Stefan moved to Caroline as he scooped his arms around her, having a firm grip on them as they all went further into the wood. Stefan's eyes turned to see the two walking next to him, "So we rescued them, now?"

"Yes."

"No."

"What do you mean no bonster?"
