Apologies for the long wait, this will be the last chapter of Resident Evil: Blackwood. Unless if I do an epilogue. As always, please read, review, and enjoy!

Repentance

Sam and Mike, alongside David and Francesca began the search for the E-Necrotoxin located inside the mines. Lucas had a small lab inside the mines, but the rest of them were dreading the thought of encountering him or any of the BOWs. There was also Chris and Ashely to worry since neither of them have heard back from the couple. They were clearly tired, but could not afford to rest. The four were relying on pure adrenaline to keep them awake.

"So, what happened to this sanatorium?" David asked. "I mean; I know remnants of the Umbrella corporation stayed hidden there to do some mad scientist level-type shit, but not much else."

"This asshole scientist, Bragg was using Eveline to control some of the bioweapons created from this mutamycete. Apparently, it's their name for they called the black mold. It was pure chaos." Mike stated to him and Sam as they walked. "They cleaned the place out and killed a lot of people."

"They?" Sam queried, before a sudden realization donned on her as she turned to Mike and Francesca. "You mean there's more of them?" Fran nodded in response. "How many?"

"Too many." Fran grimly replied

"I think we're close to the lair." Sam said

Mike glanced at Sam. "How can you tell?"

"I don't know, I just..." Sam trailed hesitantly. "Feel really terrible right about now."

Mike sighed. "Ditto." he replied in a honest tone

"Mike..." Fran trailed putting her hand on Mike's shoulder. "None of us knew this would happen. We had no idea what was lurking in this mountain."

"Yeah, well... if me, Em, Jess, and anyone else who was involved with that damn prank." Mike paused, as he looked away before turning to Fran with a look of sorrow and regret. "None of this wouldn't have fucking happen. All of this... All of this is on me, Fran."

"Look, man." David glanced at Mike. "We can't change what the hell happened in the past. But we can damn well change what happens now. So, right now... we find this necrotoxin, inject it inside Eveline, and end this fucking nightmare for good."

Their path continued onward until they found an underground lake, knowing full well it would be frigid cold. While Sam, Mike, and Fran saw no other way, David noticed something to his left. He walked over to find it was a grave, dug up with only one thing in the grave. David crouched down and picked it up, seeing it was a wristwatch. His eyes suddenly went wide as he realized it wasn't just any watch, seeing the initials BW.

"Jesus fucking Christ! This is her watch."

Sam noticed and gasped. "Oh God... he's right! Mike! Fran! This is Beth's! This is her watch!"

"What- let me see..." Mike replied stunned as he and Fran inspected the watch

"That is her watch. But there's just one thing..." Fran trailed looking at them. "Who dug her up?"

David gripped the watch tightly as he gave a grim and mortified look on his face

Sam noticed the expression on his. "David?"

"Hannah. It had to be Hannah."

"But if it's Hannah, why did she dig out Beth's body?" Fran queried

"I have a feeling we don't want to know." David grimaced, as he and the others pressed onward

Mike shuddered, feeling disturbed. "Let's keep moving." the others nodded in agreement

They returned to the ledge they approached earlier, by the water side. Sam's face cringed as she looked over the murky water before sitting down, Mike sitting next to her. Sam was about to be the first, but she hesitated. Mike shook his head and slid into the water, wadding forward a few steps.

"Come on, it's okay." he said to the gang reassuringly

Sam shook her head. "You sure?"

"I'm not dead yet."

"Famous last words." Sam replied casually as she slid into the water and gasped audibly.

"Sam, you okay?" Fran asked

"It's freezing down my waist. I can't feel my toes." she exclaimed as David and Fran did the same once they slid into the water. "Not to mention, my fingers are getting cold and numb just thinking about it."

"Ai, that's cold." Fran shivered

"God. Damn!" David hissed loudly, wadding forward. "The sooner we get out of this cold and murky ass water, the better."

The gang continued to wade through the water, moving further and further as Sam felt herself panic as the floor sloped down sharply. With the water getting higher, it was nearly up to Sam's neck. David stopped after he noticed, shrugging her to piggyback on him. Fran was slowly being submerged, with the water up to her chest as she leaned on Mike for support. It turned out he wasn't quite submerged as the others possibly due to standard height.

"Holy shit."

"Wait a minute, I thought you reached the deepest part."

Mike shook his head. "I didn't say that. I said it was okay, meaning like, there weren't sharks or anything in here."

"Sharks." Sam groaned. "Great, thank you!"

"Or a wendigo."

Sam muttered at David. "Don't you start."

"Hey, I'm being realist here. So far, we haven't seen one."

"Yet." Fran stopped and suddenly went left, making the others noticed in the direction she was going

"Fran?"

Said person moved up the ledge, getting back in solid ground as she looked around her surroundings. Fran spotted something near her as she took steps forward, kneeling down to see a worn down journal. She picked it up and moved one of the pages with her finger, realizing the writing was in fact Hannah's. While she was inspecting the mysterious journal, Mike along with Sam and David moving up the ledge to join her.

"If anyone reads, I'm sorry. I had no choice. I had to. I had-" Fran stopped as she dropped the journal, covering her mouth in both disgust and horror

Mike rushed toward Fran. "Whoa, whoa. Hey." his hands on her cheeks as she slowly looked at him. "Fran, you alright? You're starting to look a little pale. Was it the water, or...?"

David and Sam looked at the journal at where Fran stopped reading. "What the fuck?"

He moved toward the next page of Hannah explaining how different she was feeling. How she was much stronger, but also more hungry. But the last page began to shake David to his core. The final page showed scrabbles, with few the words they made out with one word: Hungry. At that moment, David tossed away the journal in a fit of rage.

"No, NO! MOTHERFUCKER!"

Sam rushed in, trying to calm David down. "Whoa, whoa! David, babe? What's going with you right now?"

"That!" David exclaimed, pointing at the worn down journal. "JESUS!" Sam read the journal, forming a mortified expression once she finished

"Okay, what the hell is going on?"

"Mike." he turned to Fran. "That journal had Hannah's handwriting explaining after she and Beth fell down here."

"It all makes sense now." they turned to David. "When I was here in the mines with Em and Jess, finding Beth's head... it was so goddamn obvious. It was Hannah! She ate her. Her own sister's fucking corpse."

"No, no, no." Mike said, denying the revelation. "I don't believe any of this."

"Mike, she had been down her for weeks since she encountered Eveline." Sam reminded Mike on the events that happened with Hannah. "She would've been starving."

"She turned into that thing. The very monstrosity I saw took Jess's life. Emily's life. Who knows how many people died on this mountain, in this fucking mine."

"I say about 250, so far." a voice neither of them wanted to hear suddenly said

"Lucas." Mike spat in anger

"How is this motherfucker still alive?" David grimaced in question

"As much as I enjoyed spending time tormentin' and makin' life hell for y'all, I gotta skedaddle." Lucas informed the group with a small pause. "But... since I've been a good host, I'll tell y'all where the necrotoxin is."

The others were skeptical and in disbelief of Lucas's sudden turn. "Why the hell would you tell us that? Your crazy ass always has something planned." David said, not taking Lucas at his word

"It has come to my attention that Eveline is hellbent and out of goddamn control." Lucas suddenly admitted. "So much so I can't even persuade her no more. I told my buddies in the Connections that little Evie's a liability. They agree she needs to be put out to pasture."

"What a surprise, Lucas is scared of the little psycho girl." Mike retorted

"Buddy, you have no idea what y'all if you don't get that necrotoxin. Besides, have ya ever wondered where Chris and Ash are?"

"Shit."

"Don't worry yer pretty little heads, they ain't dead. Not yet, anyway. To prove it to ya, the lab is through that door on the side of that water side. The code is 0645."

"How would we know it's not a trap you laid out?"

"If it was, Michael, I wouldn't have bothered telling you the damn code. Or maybe I would. Anyway... GOOOD LUCK." Lucas replied, cutting off the mic

"Let's get this shit over with." David was stopped by Sam

"David, this could be a trap."

"I know." David looked at the others. "If anyone wants to leave now, now's the time." he said. Neither Sam, Mike, or Fran said a word. "Into the abyss we go."

They headed into the water side, slowly descending as they made their way to the left. Sam and Mike were the first on top, helping Fran and David climb out quicker. They approached a metal door with a keycode lock. They glanced at each other and nodded, before Fran typed in the code while Sam and Mike got ready to open the door. David stood ready, weapon in hand for whatever danger lurked behind that door. Once the door, they quickly backed away as they saw something swung ahead on the floor. It was a head, which David recognized was the stranger who helped him escape when he was with Em and Jess.

"Madre de dios." Fran gasped in horror

"That's the guy who helped me. Along with the rest of him." David gasped, slowly aiming the machine gun forward as he cautiously walked inside. He looked up to see the stranger's body hung up on the ceiling in chains along David turned to the others. "Come on."

The rest went inside, unaware of something lurking behind as it descended into the water and out of sight. When they moved forward ahead, there was a varying of decay as bodies were hanging hooked to meat hooks on the ceiling. Few of them being Matt, Emily, and Jessica. While everyone was reeling from the discovery of dead bodies before them, David remained on task despite what he saw. Mike looked through a gap in the boards to see a small lab with equipment running. David cautiously opened a door to the wooden wall, securing the lab as the other followed behind him. They searched around the lab, checking the desk drawers. Sam pulled the last one opened as she found a large case, with the locks on the case opening in a hollow pop. Inside was a small machine, looked to be a processor of some kind with only one slot and another plate with instructions.

"E-Series DNA sample? Shit, we don't have a sample of Eveline." David grimaced

"So back to square one." Mike sighed. "Great." he added in a sarcastic tone

"Wait." she said, checking the jacket pockets of her hoodie as she pulled a vial out. "There's this."

"What is that? Where did you get it?"

"Zoe. She gave that to me after she sprung me out back at the asylum." Sam placed the vial into the synthesizer. "She had a sample of Eveline before she found me, and freed Chris and Ash. I guess this was her backup plan."

The machine worked, rapidly spinning and shaking the vial until its contents were a bubbling green substance before being drained down into the machine itself. There was more shaking added and whirring as it suddenly came to a stop. To the rest of them, the machine went silent until a side compartment popped open, and inside was a hypodermic cartridge with the same substance from before. The gang looked to each other with a mixed expression of excitement and disbelief, finally having a way to stop Eveline.

"There it is. The Necrotoxin." Mike said, feeling at ease

Sam nodded. "Now, we just need to find Eveline."

"How the hell are we gonna find a crazy ass little girl in this damn mountain?" David asked as he noticed a look on Fran's face. "Fran?"

Sam and Mike looked at her as Sam spoke. "Fran? What is it?"

"Why didn't I see it before? The old woman..." she turned to look at them. "She's Eveline. That has to be her."

"What?"

"When the four of us were captured..." Fran started, referring to Chris, Ash, Josh, and herself being taken by the Bakers. "There was an old woman in a wheelchair. Chris told me she was with the Bakers... it makes sense. Since the sanatorium, there was never a little girl around that place."

Mike had a skeptical look on his face. "So, what? You're saying a little girl can just turn to an old lady?"

"I know it's not enough to go on, but think about it. Why haven't any of us seen a little girl while encountering the Bakers?" Fran queried

"Judging by how much mutamycete she uses... maybe, maybe Fran's right." Mike and David turned to Sam with a puzzled look. "If Eveline is using too much of the mold, what if its causing her to age rapidly? Up to a point where she's an old lady, who can't hardly get around on her own?"

David turned to Fran. "Let's say for the sake of argument you're right, how the hell are we gonna find her?"

Fran looked to David with a sudden realization. "If Chris and Ash got captured by her, then that could mean only one thing."

"She's at the lodge." Mike deduced

"We could be walking into a trap, but if one of us manages to inject the necrotoxin into her before we could get the upper hand..."

"She's done for." David turned to Sam. "So, how are we doing this?"

Sam looked up and saw light coming from above, from a cliff wall. "See that over there? That means there's a direct way out, c'mon."

David shook his head. "Yeah, I think I reached my limit on climbing. I'm barely getting by as it is." he said

"I'll climb with Sam." Fran volunteered

Sam thought for a moment before responding. "Okay, you two help us up and we'll all meet back at the lodge."

"Yeah, yeah good." Mike replied, smiling. "Be careful, you two."

"Right back at you boys, too." Fran replied as Mike and David gave her and Sam a boost, climbing the wall

"Think this plan will work?" Mike asked

David shrugged his shoulders and replied. "Only one way to find out."

Mike and David went back to they came in the lab, making their way to the water side. Before they descend to the murky water, David pat Mike on the shoulder as he pointed at his sawed off shotgun. Mike traded the shotgun to David, in exchange received the P19 machine gun he had in his possession. Mike was the first to hopped down into the water, David doing the same after him as they began wading through the water, heading for the other side. They found the lab and had the necrotoxin to stop Eveline, but David suddenly felt uneasy. He couldn't think of why, but he stopped in his thought when he thought he noticed something move in the water.

"Oh, fuck-" Mike cried before he was suddenly being pulled under the water

"Mike?! MIKE!"

Then suddenly, a Wendigo leapt out as David off a shot that sent the Wendigo flying back to a wall. It quickly crawled on the rocky walls, as David quickly loading the shotgun shells while moving toward the ledge. He never took his eyes off the bioweapon as it moved from wall to wall at a quick pace, glaring at him with deadly intent. David's eyes only grew wide when he noticed something about the Wendigo, specifically what was on its shoulder. It jumped down into the water, swimming into the water coming toward David. Before he could aim the shotgun, the Wendigo jumped out of the water, on top of him. It was about to attack until it David took it as an opportunity. He shot it in the chest as it bounced away due to the impact of the buckshot, giving David the chance to flee from the vicious and bloodthirsty bioweapon. David made a mad dash for their lives as the Wendigo chased after him in the mines. He ran fast and leapt through obstacle to obstacle, attempting to put more distance between him and the Wendigo. He quickly glanced back while he ran, only to trip and fall down in another part of the cavern. David groaned with his hand on his forehead before hearing a screech nearby, looking for the sawed off weapon he had with him. Before he could attempt to retrieve it, the Wendigo suddenly crept down near the weapon.

David become frozen with fear as the Wendigo moved closer and closer to his position. With each step it took, David became more paralyzed with more fear and the feeling of sudden death being a possibility he would be unable to stray away from. He closed his eyes and attempted the inevitable as the Wendigo was near enough to where he was, coming to a halt. It screeching echoed throughout the mines. The footsteps of the Wendigo told him otherwise, as it moved away from David was and leapt elsewhere once it heard something. In a sudden moment, shrieking and an explosion was heard through David's ears. David thought he heard Lucas's voice saying "Stupid fucking bitch!" He slowly opened his eyes to find that the Wendigo was gone.

"What the hell?" David cautiously took the shotgun into his possession, before looking to where the Wendigo went. "Why didn't it kill me? I was standing there like a deer in headlights. Why...?" his eyes widened in realization. "It couldn't see me. It didn't see me. I need to get back to the lodge and find the others."

David continued on, making his way back to where he fell as he scoped out the area. The Wendigo or in this case, Hannah was nowhere to be seen. At least for now as David climbed up the ledge. He ran to a divergence as he went left, reloading the shotgun he held in his hand while checking his surroundings. He suddenly stopped when he looked at what was in front of him. A trapped Wendigo in the burning debris, shrieking as it was burning in painful agony with David giving a wary look. He stared at the bioweapon glaring at him as he walked, with David being unfazed while his eyes focused on the butterfly tattoo on its shoulder. The Wendigo began to slowly crawl out of the debris, attempting to snuff out David's life as he kept the shotgun aimed at the bioweapon's burning head. The clawed hand of the Wendigo sprung out, swiping to cut open David who just backed away. He took a deep breath and closed, as the Wendigo's torso was slowly beginning to come out of the debris. Once he exhaled and opened his eyes, David pulled the trigger as the shot hit the Wendigo in its head.

"Goodbye, Hannah." he said, taking a moment before running off heading to the lodge

Gritting her teeth, Sam clambered up until she reached a ledge large enough to stand on as Fran stood beside her. Sam bent over with her hands on her knees, as Fran climbed up while Sam gasped for breath. Once she regained her footing, Sam took a risk and jumped grabbing one of the higher rocks as she was able to catch her foot in a niche and then grabbed another rock up. She pulled herself upwards, launching her an overhanging rock after she spotted it while hauling herself until she had a good grip on the surface of the wall. With her foot now secure on top of the overhang, she climbed around grabbing a nearby branch as Sam properly set her foot and grabbed the ledge above. Fran helped her up as Sam was now on the surface, both of them panting and breathless but relieved they were in the forest again.

"Hey." Fran pointed her finger in the distance, showing Sam the way back to the lodge and closer by was the shed. "Nearly there."

"You still have the E-necrotoxin?" Sam asked

Fran pulled it out of her pocket. "Still here and intact." she replied, putting it back. "You think Mike and David made out of the mines?"

They walked down a divergence in the path, taking the right. "Yeah. Hopefully unscathed once we meet up with them. They should be back in the lodge by now."

"If Eveline hasn't found them yet."

"Yeah, yet."

Fran glanced at Sam and asked. "Do you think Eveline still has Chris and Ashely?"

"Hopefullly. And more hopeful if Eveline hasn't killed them or take complete control of them yet. We just gotta hope it isn't too late for Chris and Ash." Sam said as she and Fran suddenly stopped. "Oh, man." she groaned as they were at a lake

"Come on." Fran sighed

The duo dropped down and shrieked instantly as they wade across the lake, their clothing being soaked. Then suddenly, they heard a loud noise and paused as they looked around only for nothing to happen. They continued until they reached the other end and climbed out. Shivering uncontrollably, they wrapped their arms around themselves due to coldness. They didn't stop until both of them reached a high hedge, with only one way down. Fran slid down first, reaching the bottom first as Sam took a deep breath before sliding down. Unfortunately, she lost control.

"Whoa! Oh, shit!" she cried, landing hard on the ground stomach first

"You okay?" Fran asked, extending her hand out to her

Groaning, Sam pushed herself upward with help from Fran as they kept moving. "Yeah, I lost control there for a bit."

All of a sudden, they heard the screech of a Wendigo. "Was that..."

"Gotta take the risk. Run!"

Panicking, Sam and Fran made a run for the lodge as they ran past the shed. Sam desperately looked at her shoulder, fearful of pursuit before looking forward. Sam barely had time to react as ducked under a tree log. Sam stopped, quickly scoping the area while Fran pulled out her weapon as she jumped down. Sam followed Fran, jumping down the next ledge and over a broken jar in the path. Once the lodge was in sight, the two ran up the stairs; up the porch and made it straight to the door. However, Sam couldn't open the door as it was locked. Fran on the other hand, heard bushes move in the distance as a shadow suddenly stepped out.

"HEY! HEY! COME ON, OPEN UP!" Sam cried out. "GUYS, COME ON ARE YOU IN THERE?! LET US IN!"

"Sam-"

Sam spun around, as her and Fran saw it was Mike. "Mike! Oh my God, you look terrible."

"Gonna look much worse if we stand out here."

Sam used the butt of her pistol to break a glass pane in the door. Through it, she was able to unlock the door. They quickly made their way inside and locked the door on their way in, stopping to catch their breath. But there was one thing both Sam and Fran, it was only Mike they found alone.

"Mike, what happened to David?"

"We got separated in the mines."

"Wendigos?"

"Yeah, just the big one."

Sam shook her head, flicking the lights on as Mike turned them back off while shaking his head.

"Not good."

"I don't think the Wendigos can't see. They're like toads when it comes to sight."

Mike replied. "But the rest of the Molded can."

Fran sighed. "You're right. Where do you think Eveline is?"

"We should check the basement. See if she's down there. Maybe we'll run into David along the way." Mike said, proceeding to make their way to the basement

"So, how do you guys rate our changes of survival?" Sam nervously asked

Mike sighed. "I'm trying not to think about it."

The trio stopped as they spotted Eveline in the hallway, staring at them with deadly intentions. Mike slowly moved his hand behind him to pull out the P19, as Eveline walked away out of sight from them. Mike cautiously walked toward when she was went with machine gun in hand, only to be see she was nowhere in sight.

"What do you think you're going?" Eveline sternly said behind them. "You think you can just leave me that easily? You don't leave family."

"Kid, you're no way apart of my family. After what a little monster like you did, there's no saving you."

Eveline slightly cocked her head and fixed a cold stare at Mike. "That's a mean thing to say to a innocent little girl, Michael."

"You're no little girl. That little girl died that night she was taken by those remnants from Umbrella. You're just a thing at this point." Mike retorted, keeping the gun aimed at her

"Eveline, I need you to listen." Sam pleaded, slowly taking a step forward while Fran slowly lowered Mike's gun as Sam talked. "This has to stop. Look at all of this hurt, this pain, this suffering you're causing... you know this isn't right."

"I'm not hurting anyone. I just someone to play with. A family."

"Eveline, what you're doing is wrong. We know what happened when you were here. With you, your mom and dad in that Christmas getaway, how they both died-"

"DON'T TALK ABOUT THEM!" Eveline snapped, leaving Fran to take a step back while Mike simply glared at the child

Sam however maintained her composure. "Okay, okay. We don't need to talk about them. Those bad people after that monster attacked the lodge, they hurt you and turned you into a weapon."

"My mommy, she... she kept the bad doctors." Eveline said in the voice of a child, as Sam knelt down to meet the girl at eye level. "She was always with me when I was scared. Right after daddy died, she was always there for me. She told me everything was going to be okay."

"Enough of this."

"Mike." Fran whispered, trying to stop him while Sam talked with Eveline before shoving her out of the way

"I felt sorry for you and all, but you and the Bakers killed enough people since then. From Louisiana all the way to Blackwood. You're responsible for a lot of death, kid."

"Like with what you did to Hannah?" Eveline retorted, with Mike having a stunned and shocked expression as she glared at him. "Like how you played that awful prank on her? You, Emily, Jessica, and the rest of you. You all hurt her and Beth that night. Beth died because of you. I was there for Hannah. I SAVE HER."

"You're right. I can't take back what I did to Hannah and Beth, but we never meant for what happened to them to happen. You have as much blood on your hands as those bastards who experimented on you."

"I'm not like them! They poked and prodded me, said I was special. And then they took mommy away from me! I made them pay!"

"Doesn't change the fact that you're their monster now. That's all you are. You're not even human anymore."

"You won't think so for long. That'll change when you're dead. And when I bring all of you back, then you'll play nice."

Mike pulled the necrotoxin from Fran's pocket. "We're not fucking around, you little shit." he retorted, as Eveline's eyes went wide with fear when she saw the cartridge

"NO! GET THAT AWAY FROM ME!" she yelled, as Eveline was then replaced with an attacking Wendigo

"Ah-!" Mike stopped when he, Sam, and Fran realized it was only an illusion

"That wasn't real..."

"She can't hurt us. C'mon, up the stairs so we can find her!" Mike exclaimed, running up the stairs

While Fran followed Mike, Sam heard shrieking as she turned to see Wendigos approaching the room. Whether they were real or not, Sam quickly shut the door and locked up as she darted upstairs while hearing them to banging on the door. Once Sam reached to where Mike and Fran were, they spotted Eveline standing in the great room with a cold glare on her face. Mike went up to Eveline, only to be sent flying back in a forceful push of wind.

"GET AWAY."

"MIKE!" Sam and Fran were pushed back along with him

Shrieking was heard from downstairs as Wendigos burst out of the theater room, coming to Eveline's aid. One of them made it way near Sam, only to be shot off by David who came to the rescue. He quickly loaded and shot another Wendigo about to pounce on him, firing one more buckshot to the head of the bioweapon to finish it off while Mike got up from the floor as the dead Wendigo crashed into a gas valve near the fireplace. The sound of shrieking could be heard from outside as wendigos started charging toward the lodge. Mike glanced at Sam, Fran, and David who nodded in reply. They knew they needed to administer the necrotoxin inside Eveline before the rest of the Wendigos could make it to the lodge. David ran forth toward Eveline, only to be pushed back as Mike ran ahead of him. Eveline pushed him away, but the effect only seem to stagger him. Mike was using every ounce of his body to move closer to Eveline as he moved one foot in front of the other, gritting his teeth to get closer. The second push however knocked Mike over as the necrotoxin was out of Mike's grasp. Luckily, Sam dived forward and manage to catch in time before it shattered into pieces. Fran ran forth, tackling the little girl as David and Mike ran to assist. Eveline hurtled the couch toward them, as both of them evaded from the incoming furniture to prevent from being hit.

"Sam, use the necrotoxin!" Fran said, holding the struggling Eveline in place while keeping her head in place with one hand

Sam injected the syringe inside Eveline's neck, with a quick hiss being followed as the cartridge was emptied before the Wendigos could pounce on them. The little girl screamed when sent both Sam and Fran flying back, hitting a wall as the majority of the Wendigos were turned to nothing but black mold. Eveline's body began to distort, making everyone else hard to see what was happening as black mold circled around her rapidly. Once the mold dispersed and faded away, they saw what was really in front of them. Instead of the little girl, it was the old and elderly form of grandma Baker from the sanatorium still in a wheelchair. Sam and Mike were mildly surprised, except for Fran who suspected Eveline and granny Baker were one in the same. But part of her was stunned and shocked seeing the little girl in her true form.

Fran gasped. "You really are the old woman in the sanatorium."

"Why...?" the old woman rasped, bleeding from the eyes as Sam slowly started walking toward her. "Why does everyone hate me?"

"I'm sorry, Eveline. I really wish there was another way for now. But you'll get to your parents real soon, now. Take some comfort in that."

"No..." the old woman suddenly sat up. "No, this isn't right! Not like this! IT'S... NOT... FAAIRRRRRRR!" she screamed

All of a sudden, part of the wall behind Eveline and the Wendigos exploded outward as it a massive stream of black liquefied mold. The instructions pointed out that the necrotoxin would make subject act more hostile during cellular breakdown, but no one expect Eveline to morph into a enlarging mass of black mold. Mike and David glanced at the gas valve from the fireplace as they nodded at each other. David pulled out a bag from under the coffee table as he pulled out a grenade launcher and aimed at the gas valve.

"RUN!" David shouted as he fired a round toward the valve

The gang ran head fast to the door and got out of the lodge as it exploded. The explosion was defining as it sent everyone flying into the snow covered ground, the lodge burning in the process. Sam groaned as she slowly stood up along with Mike while Fran and David groaned on the snowy floor. She helped David while Mike did the same for Fran, turning over to stare at the destroyed lodge as it burned. The sun rose bringing daylight to the ensuring nightmare that lasted at night. They could spot helicopters in the distance on their way to pick them up. Unfortunately, the nightmare was not over as Eveline burst out of the burning lodge as if she were a giant snake. The face of her elderly form still stayed in place as one of her tendrils swatted David away as the others lunged at Sam and Fran. Mike pushed them both of the way as they grabbed Mike instead. Eveline held him up through her tendrils, giving him an intense glare with deadly intent. Before she could kill him, an explosive round hit her face causing her to drop Mike as he fell to the ground. Sam brought him up quickly without putting more hurt on him due to his fall. One of the helicopters were caught by the tendrils as another fired a missile that hit Eveline in the face, causing her to lose her grip on the captive helicopter. Once it sprung entirely free, a box crate suddenly fell down almost close to Sam and Mike. Inside the contents was a M202 Flash quad missile launcher with experimental missiles.

David and Fran noticed the crate. "Is that what I think it is."

Mike stared at the crate with the missile launcher. "We need to use this." Mike declared, he made a run for the missile launcher

He held it up through his shoulder while David and Fran loaded the four experimental rockets in the slots. After David chambered the rockets with Fran's help, he tapped on the side of the barrel letting Mike know the missiles were set and in place. Fran helped Mike aim the rocket launcher aimed it directly at Eveline while she was occupied. Mike closed one eye and aimed with the other through the sight, as Eveline began to see Mike and the others.

"This is for you, Jess. You and everyone else." he said, firing the missile at Eveline's giant face

Another missile hit Eveline again, causing her to shriek loudly with pain. Mike fired the last of the missiles at Eveline, only for one to hit the tendrils. The last one; however hit hit directly in the eye as she screamed once more in agony. Eveline was shaking away the effects of the calcification to her dying breath, whiteness now being visible as she became still as if she were a statue before crumbling away to pieces. Mike and the others sighed with relief as the nightmare was finally over for good. There was a large helicopter coming into view as it circled around the burned down and destroyed lodge. As it hovered behind them, they could see a logo on the side... a logo belonging to the Umbrella Corporation as Mike, David, and Fran pulled out their weapons aimed. Sam however thought differently as she lowered their weapons while Fran looked at him. Sam looked at her, giving Fran a reassuring look as heavily armored men slid down on ropes out of the helicopter. The armed men walked forward to the four of them, as one of them walked closer taking his gasmask off.

"It's alright, you're safe. I'm Redfield."

"What the fuck took you guys so long?"

Mike, Sam, David, and Fran were brought up on stretchers once they were secure. Sam's eyes turned to the destroyed lodge. While Mike and David stared at the lodge in ruins with Sam, Fran spotted something in the corner of her eye. She moved away a curtain as her eyes suddenly went wide, leaving Mike with the same shocked expression as her. David began to noticed as he nudged Sam to also look for herself, walking her way closer to what they were seeing. It was Chris and Ashely on stretchers with an IV bag and medical stands.

Chris glanced over and grinned. "Hey, guys."

"Holy shit." David gasped, before smiling back. "You guys made it!"

"Did we?" Ash asked as Fran and Sam hugged her, while Mike patted Chris on the shoulder

Sam sat down. "It's over. It's finally over." she said

David sat down beside her. "Yeah." he replied as Sam laid her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes. "Yeah, it is." the rest of the others relaxed on the helicopter took them away, away from the very mountain unleashed its nightmare onto them.

"We're home free."
