Jimmy couldn't believe he was doing this...

After Cindy left that night, Which Jimmy didn't truthfully want, he was left alone.

Jimmy never realised how lonely he felt. Was he always this lonely?

Did he have friends before he lost his memory? He presumed by the mountain of get well soon gifts he did, he asked his mom to pass him some of them, most of them being from a boy named Carl Wheezer. There was lots of llama themed wrapping paper, did Carl like llamas?

He opened them, intrigued as to what they were.

The first present was a box of what was presumed to be home-made chocolate chip cookies, they looked good, maybe he could have one for his before bed snack, he was a little bit hungry, dinner wasn't that filling considering how much was on the plate.

Jimmy smiled at the get well soon card presumably from Carl, laughing at the llama with sunglasses on the front of the card.

The inside of the card had a very special message inside.

Dear my bestest friend Jimmy:

Hope you're okay buddy, I miss you so so much, Sheen does too. When Cindy told us what happened I couldn't believe it. I hope you're recovering well, I can't wait to see what inventions we create together when you're feeling better.

Love your bestest llama loving pal, Carl Wheezer.

Jimmy closed the card, reaching over and putting it on his nightstand. He looked at the Second gift from Carl. The second gift was a white teddy bear with a bow attached, he removed the decorative bow hugging the teddy bear tight.

He felt really lonely, he didn't remember anything, it was like he was reborn as a 10-year-old with no recollection of anything. He didn't know what was going on and he didn't like it, maybe that's why he felt the urge to hug the bear. He needed some comfort right now, and the bear seemed to be the only one that understood the situation.

Goddard came up to Jimmy and gave a lick, trying to console him.

Jimmy gently stroked him, smiling a sad smile. "You won't leave me, right boy? "

The mechanical dog licked Jimmy's face lots of times, making him laugh. "Thank you, Goddard... thank you for not making it as scary." Jimmy says, the mechanical dog then made some programming sounds, his stomach lighting up with yellow words.

Why don't you call Cindy? The words read.

Jimmy looked at his dog, he was confused. His dog could give him options?

"Did I program you to do that, Goddard?" Jimmy asked in confusion.

Goddard barked yes. Jimmy reached over and grabbed his phone, tapping it and it lit up. "Hello Jimmy, "the voice said.

Jimmy jumped letting out a yelp, his phone could talk to him?

"Don't be afraid, Jimmy... I am here to help you." The voice reassured.

Jimmy nodded slowly. "Who are you? I lost my memory and I don't remember who you are." Jimmy said.

" I know, Cindy told me. I am VOX, I can help you navigate your phone." VOX replied.

Jimmy nodded. "Um. Okay VOX, please call Cindy." Jimmy asked politely.

"Calling Cindy Vortex." VOX said.

The phone started ringing. After a couple of rings Cindy answered.

"Hi, Jimmy," Cindy greeted. "You doing okay?" She asked.

"No, I don't like being alone..." Jimmy says, his voice shaking.

Cindy sighed. " I know Jimmy, I know... But you're not alone, Goddard's there with you, so he'll keep you company. You know I can't come over right now, visiting hours are over... I'll be there tomorrow, I promise. "Cindy said softly. "Now, it's getting late Jimmy, you need to get some sleep." Cindy said gently. "Get my iPad and stick on some movies or something until you fall asleep, I left it there for you in case you wanted to watch something. Just ask VOX, she'll get you set up. Anyway Jimmy, I have to go, it's getting late, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" Cindy replied.

Jimmy didn't respond, he just pressed the hangup button as the phone call ended.

There was an eerie silence that fell after the phone call ended, it was uncomfortable, uninviting, it just felt... Off. Jimmy not being able to describe it.

Thoughts echoed in his mind. Thoughts he didn't remember having until now.

His thoughts whispered horrible names in his mind, swerving their way into his thought process, getting tangled within his limited mind. It was scary not being able to remember anything, Jimmy had no idea as to why he thought he could spend the night alone. It was scary without Cindy here. His tummy hurt, feeling a strange feeling of emptiness, longing for her, but he couldn't understand why.

He looked at the clock. 9 o'clock displayed on was getting late. But the thought of sleeping was the last thing Jimmy wanted to do right now.

So, he didn't sleep.

Even when Judy came in to check on him, he was still awake. She even tried to encourage him to go to sleep, Judy staying with him a bit while her husband stayed home keeping an eye on things.

But, try as he might, even he couldn't stay awake all night.

He had nightmares, nightmares of being in a dark room all alone with no way out. He tried to call for Cindy, but even she was too far away. He woke up screaming, crying, breathing heavily. He needed her, she made him feel safe, he wanted her to be with him, she didn't need to hold his hand, although, physical touch would be nice right now.

He missed her so much...

Goddard woke up by the sound of Jimmy crying. The mechanical dog nestled next to his boy, licking his face trying to soothe him as though he was his own puppy. "Goddard," Jimmy said in a broken, desperate voice. "Options." Jimmy pleaded, his dog obeyed quickly, having the first out of a few options appear on his stomach.

Why don't you call Cindy again? The first option read.

Jimmy thought about this, he wanted to hear Cindy, to make sure that she was okay, he wanted her to reassure him that she is still with him, that he isn't alone, that he isn't a wimp for calling her.

But, she was asleep most likely, it was three in the morning now, Jimmy having been up most of the night. He was tired, he wanted to go to sleep.

Goddard made more mechanical sounds, continuing the first option.

I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you called her. The option continued.

Jimmy reached shakily for his phone, grasping it tightly in his sweaty shaking hands. The tears starting again as he was torn on what to do. Maybe he could text her instead?

Yeah, he would text her.

Jimmy made it to the messaging app, finally reaching Cindy's contact.

He was about to start typing when all of a sudden his phone started to vibrate, he answered it quickly.

"CINDY?!" He asked desperately, not afraid to let out a sob as he hoped it was her.

"Yeah Jimmy, it's me..." Cindy said in a soothing voice.

Jimmy started to sob again.

"Shhhh, It's okay... It's okay... Shhhh, you're safe." Cindy's voice soothed.

"I'm sorry Cindy... I didn't mean to wake you up!" Jimmy cried.

"Shh, you don't need to apologise... it's okay. But what you need to be doing right now is getting comfy and going to sleep." Cindy urged.

"How did you know I was going to call you because of that?" Jimmy asked, bewildered.

Cindy couldn't help but laugh. "Because I knew it would get to this time and you would call me, so I decided to beat you to it." She says. "Okay Jimmy, we're gonna try a calm down technique, okay?" Cindy said softly.

"Okay." Was Jimmy's answer.

"I want you to breathe in through your nose slowly, hold it for a few seconds and let your body gently relax as you breathe it out, you think you can do that?" Cindy asked.

Jimmy copied Cindy's instructions, slowly letting his body relax. He did the breathing exercise a couple of times, his body becoming heavier and heavier.

"...Cindy..." Jimmy slurred sleepily.

"Shh, I'm here...Just keep breathing in and out okay? You're okay, you're safe..." Cindy reassured, almost certain that he was asleep.

Once Cindy was absolutely certain Jimmy had fallen asleep, she waited for a few minutes, just listening to his breathing

.

He was alive.

He was okay.

After another minute she hung up the phone.

She couldn't help but cry.

She sobbed and sobbed, wishing that Jimmy didn't have to go through this.

She wished it was herself, she wished she would go through his pain just so he didn't have to.

She was so worried for him, worried how these next few years would play out. With no recollection of anything or anyone, Jimmy was in a very very vulnerable place right now. Barely knowing anyone. He was basically like a blank slate, his personality was wiped leaving a very vulnerable Jimmy in its place.

She wanted to be with him, she wanted to be close to him, comforting him. Something her old self would've hated. But she needed him to be okay, and she couldn't exactly do that when she wasn't exactly physically with him.

But, she would see him tomorrow. Even re-introducing him to some of his friends.

Yeah. She would be in tomorrow and everything would be okay.
