The Warlords nephew said to Mike, "You untrained Roman can conceive defeat or you will die."
Mike replied, "Already got paid man, can't back out now... but, those are some nice place swords you've got, and I got the feeling they ain't normal. Is there a second path? I might like one."
The crowd started laughing. The Warlord looked interested, saying to the mayor next to him, "I have heard rumors that Musso warriors were capable of sensing great weapons. It seems here that is true.
The mayor asked, "What do you mean by great weapons?"
The Warlord replied, "I may have specially and expertly designed weapons, but those swords, they are much more than any of them. A traveling blacksmith who would only make weapons for those he deemed worthy was once walking through my town with his apprentices. He instructed his apprentices to make multiple weapons and armor for people he deemed worthy, but he would not make any himself. I did pay for a number of them to be made for my captains and such, but as my nephew came over after defeating some Bandits, he took one look at him and he said 'You. I shall make you the finest swords you will ever have.' And he did. I have seen him cut through giant maces, such as the Musso warrior cut through my captain's sword earlier. I'm allowing this fight so both of them learn about respect - my nephew to respect the capabilities of a Musso Warrior and the strange Musso Warrior to respect the dangers of the opponents he faces. Let's hope both can recover after this in quick time and non-fatally."
The announcer lifted up his hand. "Ready. Set. Go!"
Mike started running in a circle around the nephew. He thought to himself, "Get him from an angle when he's not looking. Hit him with the shield. Do not mess with his swords. I don't understand what I'm feeling from them but I don't want to mess with them."
Despite Mike's fast speed, the nephew kept on circling, allowing him to not reveal a blind spot. For nearly a minute, the crowd watched with amazement at Mike's superior speed, paying little attention to the nephew. Then he started slowing down a tiny bit, in order for his opponent to misjudge the momentum. He thought he saw an opening, but as soon as he came at the nephew with his shield, he veered sharply into the shield with his two swords. They then both felt a wave of power, and even the audience could see it. Both of them looked at the main weapon with concern, hoping they do not break before the enemy could break off.
After the initial shock wave, something that both of them had ever experienced before, the Warlords nephew quickly secured his swords at his side. It took a second for Mike to register this, as the nephew tried to grab him, but Mike pushed the shield forward causing the nephew to launch forward - right into Michael's gut at amazing speed. With one hit to the head and the other hit to the gut, they were both knocked out.
The announcer checked on both of them. He said, "Both unconscious, double knock-out."
The Warlord said, "Inexperienced will need to be worked with especially against more challenging fauxs, but I do say, assuming both of them wake up good and proper, they should be able to work together on the battlefield.
"I hope so," the town mayor said.
"Yes, Take him along with my nephew to my tent. Hopefully he wakes up before I leave, so he can see you off."
Sometime later, the Warlord was sitting in front of Mike and his nephew. As one woke up holding his head, and the other one woke up grabbing his stomach, the nephew saying, "I had the weirdest dream." And Mike said, "Who shot me with a bean bag gun in the gut?" Both looked at the Warlord, and then realized then what else they heard. They turned to each other and asked, "Who won?" And the Warlord said, "It was a draw. Take some time to heal, and we will be leaving tomorrow morning to join the coalition."
Note: I am still in this fanfiction for the long haul. I will be trying something new after this chapter, where my proofreader writes as I dictate. I am open to hearing suggestions about historical figures not playable in Dynasty Warriors, especially those related to playable people in the last Dynasty Warriors game.
