OMG, I almost forgot about this story for a while sorry about that, but I was able to add another chapter and I'm going to try and add more chapters as time goes on. I'm also planning on updating a few other stories as well. Sorry for asking for patience on that...

WARNING:

VIOLENCE, FOUL LANGUAGE

(Of course that's a given it's Wolverine we're talking about not Storm this time lol)

Logan marched down the hall in a huff, Beast close on his heels.

"Logan, Wolverine!" He tried to get his attention, knowing the animalistic side of him had taken control for now.

"Stop! If you're looking to do what I think you're just going to make matters worse!" He said loudly at his side, Logan didn't even slow his pace as he made his way toward the door.

"Wolverine listen to me!" Hank made a bold move right then and got between the feral mutant and his destination.

"Out a' my way Furball!" Logan snapped irritated at the other mutant, Beast prepared himself for the worst as he spoke.

"If you go and hunt the people down that did this then when she hears about this she might see you as a monster." Logan's dark eyes went to meet the bigger mans.

"I am a monster!" He yelled at the other mutant.

"Not right now you're not! You don't need to become one right now do you?... think for a moment, what would she want?"

Logan thought about it for a moment, Ororo wouldn't think he was a monster, she understood him better than anyone else. She knew he had monstrous urges that made everyone doubt his humanity at times, sure she'd be upset, but she wouldn't deem him as inhuman. He was precious to her just as she was to him.

The thought of her calmed him for a moment, until those voices came back into his head. The voices of her attackers;

"Hey you got her!" - "Nice shooting Ben!"

With that thought all peaceful notions went out the window, the look in his eyes nearly scared the crap out of Beast, and he knew he had one mere second to move and so he did knowing there was nothing that he could do to stop this man who certainly had murder on his mind. He watched as he went down the stairs and outside, there was only one thing he could do now.

'Xavier, we have a situation on our hands!'

'Yes, so I've heard.' Charles answered him thinking he knew what he was talking about.

'No Charles, Wolverine's gone to avenge Storm.' He interjected, he could feel the tone changing.

'He has?!'

'Yes, I tried to stop him but he's determined about it.'

'I see... Beast stay out of his way, I'll send someone after him.'

'Alright Professor.' He turned his attention to two people that he knew could stop him.

In their room Kitty and Rogue were talking about some of the things that had been happening lately, when they were interrupted.

'Kitty, Rogue, I need you to go intercept Wolverine, he's about to do something he'll regret.'

'What kind of thing?' Kitty asked mentally,

'He's got the mind to kill someone right now.' Kitty put her hands to the sides of her head and shook it fast not really wanting to hear it.

'We'll do our best Professor.' Rogue answered back.

'Good, right now he's heading out of the grounds, catch him before it's too late... oh and Rogue, you might want to tap kitty just a little, just in case something goes wrong.' Realizing what he meant she shivered slightly but knew that was the best course of action.

"Uh, ok." Kitty said in response to his advice, Rogue took off her glove and touched her roommates' hand for a moment, it felt like an electric jolt but slightly more intense.

A moment later they headed out the door, running to catch up, thankfully they were both used to running long distance, so it wasn't that hard to catch up to him. Seeing him they sped up slightly, till they were right beside him.

"Hey Mr. Logan." Kitty said at his side, he didn't respond.

"Chuck send ya?" He asked his tone dark.

"No, what makes you think that?" Rogue responded,

"Ain't gonna do no good to lie to me, I can smell it."

"Look Logan you're better than this! You don't have to kill someone." Rogue said beside him.

"Yeah, whatever the reason, there's gotta be another solution, right?" Kitty asked.

"No, there's not." He said not bothering with the two younger mutants any longer as he sped to a sprint. The girls were fast, but not as fast, he lost them in seconds.

"Man, all that training and we still can't even keep up with our instructor." Kitty said as she slowed to walking again.

'Professor, we couldn't stop him.' Kitty told him telepathically, he sighed in his office, he'd have to do this one himself, he didn't really have a problem with that he just wanted to see if they could up their skills, he wouldn't have sent them after him if he thought the madman would've hurt them but being the fact that he saw them as his own kids he knew that wouldn't happen. It was his turn now, he put his hands to his temples closing his eyes.

'Logan, what are you doing?' He asked in his mind, Logan growled at the telepath's intrusion.

'Get out a' my head Chuck!' He mentally yelled at him not slowing his pace.

'Do you know the consequences of this action that you're determined to take?' He asked sternly, the other man, the feral gritted his teeth as he responded about to give the man a piece of his mind,

'Do ya know what'll happen if I don't? Huh Chuck, ya ever thought about that?' He bit back, then closed his mind to all other contact, shutting the other mutant out.

Charles tried to keep talking to him but sensing the mental blocks he knew there was nothing that he could do now. He could send someone to intercept him, but he sensed he was almost in one of his moods where he'd black out and not many people could get him out of it, the main person who could get him out of that kind of haze would be Ororo, Kitty could to as she'd done it before when her and Kurt accidentally went to Canada with him. He knew that she most likely would turn it down, but there wasn't much else he could do so desperately he reached out to her again.

'Kitty, I hate to ask this of you, but do you think you'd be able to catch up to him?' She stopped where she was sighing aloud, Rogue continued into the mansion not paying much attention to her friend.

"Why me?" Kitty asked, she loved Logan like a second father but she'd seen him in battle and when he lost it whatever was in his path was a was indeed and she really didn't want to see that with actual people as she knew is what he had on his mind.

'Kitty, we both know that you're currently the only one who's able to stop him right now… you've gotten to him before when he was in this state of mind. You can do it again.' She lifted her arms in an exaggerated shrug as she gave up.

'Alright fine. But I really don't like this Professor.' She said turning around and speeding to a jog toward the wall, within seconds phasing through and whatever else was in her way.

'Neither do I, if Ororo was herself right now I'd send her, but I cannot.' The man put in, Kitty was a bit surprised by this news as she didn't know what had happened.

'What do you mean she's not herself? What happened Professor?' There was silence for a few seconds before she heard from him again.

'I'll fill you in on the details later, but for now all you need to know is that someone attempted to end her and Logan's gone after them…'

At this her face paled, she knew what this meant… if Logan and his wife were anything like the stories she liked to read then there'd be hell to pay, and knowing that beast of a man the attacker had mere hours if not minutes to live. She didn't respond to him anymore that time, but just kept going.

He was barely taking in the happenings around him, just the scent of the sewer scum that attempted to finish of f the love of his life a mere hour before. The trail was getting hotter as he passed the subway

Kitty ran as fast as she could, but she was at a disadvantage though because though she could walk through walls and any other kind of barrier she didn't have enhanced senses like Logan so she'd have to track him down the way any regular human would have to.

She'd lost sight of him but kept her eyes wide open, it was easier to keep track of him since he was running on the grass and dirt more than sidewalks or roads. His trail was in front of him still straight ahead so she kept to it.

Logan didn't keep track of where he was, just that he was close to where her attackers were. If anyone had seen him now they'd probably think he was the messenger of death, fiery eyes, claws fully drawn and in a full on sprint. Several kids on their way home from school had seen him but all they saw was a flash go by in the trees. Due to the speed he was going they couldn't see exactly what or who it was so they figured they just better get home asap before something got them.

There was a Texas Roadhouse up ahead, their scents led there and went inside. He was disgusted at what he knew they were doing… celebrating shooting her down… they would pay for it with their lives very soon.

Kitty followed the foot prints but they led to a parking lot, it was a strip mall, there were a few restaurants there as well, she looked around trying to find him, but with no luck. She couldn't see him, there were a few men with the same kind of apparel that he'd ware, but they weren't him, and besides he wouldn't be laughing or talking right now.

He stalked outside the windows of the building knowing that they were inside somewhere. His eyes suddenly locked onto three boys, most likely 17 or almost eighteen, the oldest one looked to be about 20. They were at the bar with a drink in their hands, he growled deeply as he knew it was them. His rumble was so menacing that a few people at the tables turned to look out the window, but he was hidden enough in the bushes that they couldn't see him, or most of them anyway, some people got up and immediately left though, like they knew what was going to happen next.

The men were sitting at the bar and laughing, the oldest one, Frank was going on about his "first kill" and the two others were adding about theirs. Being that he didn't care what they were talking about he didn't listen, all he cared about was that what almost happened just over an hour ago would never get a chance to happen again.

"What'd you think of your first kill Ben, how'd it feel?" Henry the other man with them asked, he looked down to the drink between his hands, if it was all up to him he wouldn't have come with these guys, he wasn't a violent person but the phrase "Show me who your friends are and I'll show you your future" had proven itself true in this instance.

"Uhm, I don't know… you think she'll be ok?" He asked with a worried look on his face, the two others looked at each other confused.

"Be ok? You shot her right in the side of the head man, trust me that thing's gone!" At the words of his friend he felt sick.

"Ohh no…" He said silently.

"Don't tell me you've got a soft spot for muties man this isn't a place for that." Frank spat out intimidatingly

"What if I do huh? What if I happen to be one of the "softies"." The two looked at each other surprised then back to him disappointed.

"Then you're just like one of them, a waste of space and oxygen." His other "friend" stated, he'd thought that Henry would be on his side but maybe he'd been part of this cause for too long and had gone too deep. Suddenly he had the overwhelming urge to vomit, he jumped off his seat turning just in time to come face to face with his pursuer.

The look in his eyes was ravenous and enraged, the glint of the metal prongs sticking out of the mans forearms pushed him over the edge and he found himself projectile vomiting into the other mans face, sending him backing away disgusted at the digested contents on him.

"S-sorry, I-I'm sorry!" He said as he ran to the bathroom before he spewed some more.

"Who the fuck are you?!" The older of the two asked, Logan didn't waste time with introduction instead opting to grab the man by his shirt claws fully drawn.

"YOU!" He nearly roared in his face, he then threw him down with such force that it made him dizzy, unfortunately he couldn't recuperate before the Wolverine shoved his boot into his shoulder forcefully crushing a part of his rotator cuff making him shriek in pain. Adrenaline kicked in as he forced himself to his feet, looking his attacker in the eyes.

"YOU'RE DEAD FUCKFACE!" He yelled at his attacker who stood there stone cold staring into his very essence then stalked around him menacingly.

He lunged foreward attempting to land a hit on the shorter man but was blocked by his forearm that he held up defensively, he then used the same arm to thrust his fist into the same broken shoulder claws now fully embedded into his flesh. His face twisted into a sick smile as he heard his victim scream out in agony

"You think it was funny shooting my wife?!" He yelled into the other mans face. The man had terror written on his features now, he knew he couldn't beat this mutant.

"I-I didn't shoot her… it wa-as Ben! He shot her! He threw up in your face!" The man argued which sounded more like pleading to him.

"I smell the pride on YOU!" He snarled out.

"I-I can change! I promise!" Frank whimpered out, Logan shook his head at the man knowing he meant it but not willing to allow him the chance after his last mistake.

"You just gave up your last rights bub! And I'mma finish you off right here!" He hissed out inches from his face, tears were streaming down the mans face now willing to do anything to not die.

Unsure of where he'd gone Kitty started going through all the places thankfully it was rather easy since she could phase through solid surfaces, she hadn't found him yet, then a loud bang followed by several others came from not too far away, she knew what that meant and hoped she wouldn't be coming upon a bloody scene but was sure she was probably not going to be so lucky.

Logan's hands dropped Frank was still stuck on his claws and yelped when they twisted his muscle in his shoulder upon angling down.

He turned looking to the man who'd shot him out of the corner of his eye, the bullets dropped out of his hair and onto the floor, making the other man wet himself in fear and shock, he then threw the gun at him and ran out the door.

"HEEENNNRRYYYY!" His friend shouted for his help, but the man was gone.

Meanwhile in the bathroom Ben had no idea what was going on other than those two men getting what was inevitably coming to them. Coming out of the bathroom he looked on in horror as he saw blood everywhere and his once friend barely alive and at the mercy of the clawed mutant.

"Oh my-" He started but was sent into another bout of barfing upon the sight and smell of the scene in front of him, he tried to make it back to the bathroom but had no such luck as he spilled his guts a few feet from his destination.

"Hey," He turned hearing a female voice behind him, she had a scared look on her face as well.

"You have to get out of here now!" She urged him, he nodded and attempted to get up.

"How?" He asked choking on the bile in his mouth, she looked up and grabbed him by his arm pulling him toward the wall, he hesitated.

"Trust me!" She urged, he closed his eyes as the feeling of tingling went all through his body, he then opened them again hearing traffic in the distance and was surprised to see they were outside.

"Get in your car and drive far away from here!" She ordered him and then turned around blowing his mind as she defied logic and disappeared into the wall. The man didn't waste time thinking, he ran to the truck and got in finding the keys in the ignition he turned the engine over and zoomed out of the parking lot.

Going back inside she was disgusted to find Wolverine tearing apart the man and tried to get his attention.

"Mister Logan!" She yelled at the top of her lungs, he stopped to look at her briefly.

"What the hell're you doing here kid?! Get out!" He yelled not wanting her to be involved in this.

"You can't kill him!" She pleaded knowing most likely it wasn't going to work but she had to try.

"He's not going to get the opportunity to hurt anyone ever again!" He said pulling his claws back for a final strike, the man sat on the ground too weak to do anything if he wanted to, the man prayed as he knew it was his last minute on earth.

She couldn't believe she was doing this but she lunged foreward last minute grabbing the angry man's shirt thus making him intangible, his claws swiped through the man but did no damage, at this the man's last energy left him and he fainted.

Logan turned around to the younger girl grabbing her wrists tightly looking her dead in the eyes. She knew she'd overstepped her boundaries now.

"KATHERINE!" He growled out low and loud, the look in his eyes was something different then she'd ever seen before, this must've been his beast side, she heard of it before but never seen it personally.

"LEAVE!" He ordered her, she wanted to, she really wanted to, but she wasn't the kind of person to let someone die if she could do anything about it.

"…NO, I CAN'T!" She said firmly, he snarled at her statement.

"Think for a minute! If Ororo were here she wouldn't let you kill him either! What would she want?" She asked him trying to be smart about this.

"You don't know who you're talkin' to kid." A deeper voice than usual came out of his mouth startling her.

"Then who am I talking to? You're the one that we're proud to have on our team, I'm proud to know you Wolverine, Ororo's proud of you, we love you very much. But we don't kill people, we can't! It'll defeat our cause if we do and you know it!"

"The cause means nothing to me!" The man stated then looked to her again.

"You don't mean that." She said lowly frowning at him. Then gasped as he turned back to the man determined to finish the job on this human trash, she didn't know where this would lead but she jumped into the wall behind the man and held him up ready to pull him back any moment.

"Hang on a little longer! You'll get through this." She whispered in the unconscious mans ear and braced herself for whatever came next.

The crazed mutant was indignant at this but evidently couldn't do anything about it so he turned to the wall slicing into different things, a moment later there was sound of the doors opening, he looked over to them. The man's friend Henry had come back but this time he had a shotgun with him, he didn't even take a minute to think before he started firing at him.

The first couple shots got him in the left side of his chest, then the right, then seeing it only hindered him and didn't kill him he aimed lower to his manhood and fired at that sending the feral to the ground crouching in pain, the final shots going almost point blank in his face and neck.

"What the hell are you doing with my friend?!" He asked the younger girl who was still holding his friend up.

"Holding him up so he doesn't fall." She said plainly, the man huffed out then realizing it would only be a minute or two before the mutant got up and there wasn't much he could do to save his friend besides wait for the police that would definitely lock him away for life. The man went back outside finding the truck was gone and then deciding to run as fast as he could away from the place.

Logan was back up within a few minutes then bolted out the door looking for the man. Kitty had a feeling that he didn't get away, it wasn't very long before paramedics arrived, miraculously the man had survived his injuries albeit barely.
