The sound of light humming joined in with the clash of knitting needles. Mundy heeded Jeremy's warning not to come into the kitchen to ruin his surprise "or else" and waited patiently on the couch. The socks he was knitting were coming along nicely, even if the lilac yarn was strewn all over his lap. The humming came closer, its source overshadowing him. "Yeees?" He asked pretending to be aloof. "You already know what I want. Move over." Mundy cleared a spot for him to sit, then threw the yarn over him, effectively trapping him for the time being. "Whatcha making?" "Socks, you?" Jeremy puzzled for a brief. "Something Heavy taught me, starts with soy or something? Real good, or I think, I don't rememba, and with the venison in it... eh. Wait! Damn Snipes, frig you." Mundy chuckled. "That was your fault, fer not shutting yer big mouth." Jeremy's brows furrowed. "You know who else's mouth needs shu- never mind, that didn't sound right. Why is it so much harder than with girls?" "I dunno, you tell me." He shrugged. A moment of silence filled the air, the cogs in Jeremy's head turning "D-do you think he hates me?" Jeremy motioned upwards. Mundy gave him a compassionate smile. "Nah. When I went up there, all he talked about was you. He loves you, and so do I." Mundy set his knitting down and pulled Jeremy into a tight hug, flat against his chest. "First thing he thought to ask me about was you. Also, how much he loved your tattoo." He pointed to Jeremy's chest. "Really?" The brightness of his blue eyes returned. "Yup." Jeremy smiled and bounced his way back into the kitchen, or at least tried to. "Ey, untie me!" He pulled at the string constricting himself, but it only tightened. "Magic word?" Jeremy flipped him off. "Please and thank you." He said annoyed. Mundy twisted the thread, unraveling it with a single movement. "Showoff." He rolled his eyes, and finally bounded back to the kitchen. Twenty minutes later, he called Mundy to the rustic dining table, waving the bread rolls around. He ushered him to his seat, elegantly placing the meal before him. A plate of bread rolls, some sort of stew, and a side of seasoned apples. Mundy sniffed and thoughtfully sighed. "Bloody great, roo." He stared at Jeremy, then at the food, memorizing the image for later. "You haven't even tasted it yet!" "So?" While Jeremy inhaled his food, he savored it like his last. Eventually they found themselves back on the couch, winding down for the evening. "If its December, why is it so hot?" Jeremy rolled around on the couch, drowned under a pile of yarn. "Cause it's summer, duh." Mundy poked the living mass of fluff nestled between his legs. "No, it's not, it's almost Christmas dumbass." "Exactly, Christmas is in summer." "Not where I come from. Speaking of Christmas, how are we gonna celebrate?" "I was going to ask you that, I never celebrated myself." A shocked face emerged from the lilac. "You've never celebrated Christmas!?" "Never." "No way! I should call my mom right now; she can fix that!" Jeremy sprang off the couch, sending yarn flying "What?" Jeremy darted out the doorway and called back: "It's decided, were going to Boston!" The telltale sound of the old hardly working telephone rang through the house, ringing twice before being picked up. "Hi ma! - Can me and my –cough- friend come over in a few days for christmas? - Yeah- it's him- no not like that! Bye, love ya! Mwah!" Jeremy padded back into sight, a mix between beaming and disgusted. "It's settled." He flopped onto the couch. "But what if she doesn't like me?" "She loves handsome rogues, if anything she'll try to steal you away. Besides, she's heard like everything about you, and she's obsessed. You'll be fine, don't worry."
AN: My head cannon is that Snipes knits/crochets, a concept I got from other writers. I like to think he learnt from his mum, and still does it for the practicality and for the stimmy-stimmy of it. Take it from me, crocheting is a gift from Athena herself ;p Scout cooked to solyanka, a sour, spicy Russian stew that's real yum. Do ya'll like scout's ma? Cause I do, a lot. I mean she's literally so cool! I'm ready to write mom jokes, Christmas, and maybe some dad-spy? Yippee XD
