"Gisela!" Manami shouted, it was clear she was pretty angry with her, the Dual Alliance had been taking a beating and with the middle schoolers clashing it out and now with both the failed diversion attack to Warsaw and their recent failure on the Serbian gang. Manami knew she needed to get Gisela's attention. "Your students are getting slaughtered on the field and I don't think you have scored a single victory so far. You need to start putting in more elbow grease if you are to try to have a successful attack. We can't be everywhere at once." Manami tried to explain to Gisela that her student army was taking the brunt of the losses and were quickly falling apart.
"What are you telling me to do? Try to sharpen up the slackers? Some students refuse to fight yet those that fight end up trying to hold the enemy back to no avail, plus we only speak in Kuromorimine tongue which many of these students do not understand." Gisela asked if it was the solution. "Plus, both us and the middle schoolers are exhausted from the fighting as of yesterday." Runa looked at Gisela as Manami knew that Gisela needed to contribute more to the team. But this meant that their friend had to sit out for a white.
"Precisely, we'll give you a day off from this while you get yourself reorganized and hopefully you can be ready for what we plan on doing." Runa told Gisela to take a bit of a break to restructure the team and get them ready this time. Gisela nodded before she left the room. Kirishima and Maho entered as they were carrying a couple of maps. They took them out and unrolled them to show them what was going on.
"So what's the plan for this time around?" Kirishima asked Manami and Runa if they had any ideas on what they were going to do against Saunders, Runa began to think as she wanted to do Gisela's plan but she knew that they failed as they didn't bring up any tanks and they just rushed to Warsaw in a bit of a disorganized fashion.
"Plan this time is to launch a thrust to Warsaw to try to destroy Saunders and get them to weaken them out, resistance is proving to be stronger than anticipated as we're the only ones capable of defeating them for now so we need to send the best students over there." Runa began as the plan was simple, picking up where Gisela had left off with her failure.
"That's great and all but do you know if we will have reserves or not?" Maho asked as she was on board with the plan but she didn't know if they were going to have help or not to drive Saunders back. Runa remembered something as she began speaking.
"Yes we will, one of the students has recovered and is ready to begin fighting again though her role is limited for the time being due to her injuries. We'll be holding the tanks back in case any sort of breakthrough has been conducted and we could use them to blunt the enemy advance." Runa explained to the others that the plan to defeat Saunders was going to be one of attrition. The other girls nodded as they liked the idea, Kirishima wrapped the maps up and headed off, she knew she had all the ideas in place.
Alexandra meanwhile was planning out her own offensives, she had managed to score victories in wars of movement and she was willing to try the same trick again.
"Okay same tricks but we're going to try something new." Alexandra began. They were facing Kuromorimine this time and she wanted to make sure they were going to be able to fight them. "We'll lead them into a trap upon which we will use an armored train and the armored cars to launch an offensive with the cavalry going ahead and attacking deep behind their lines. Once the armored train has broken their defenses, the Dual Alliance will desperately need their students to not pressure Przemyśl, that is the one thing that they are trying to do to get some of the pressure off of them that are trapped and lift the siege."
"We believe that I should try my best to lead the tanks while you try leading those horses of yours. Stop fighting such antiquated fights and try having fun for once." Kay told Alexandra that the field of battle was going to be like their sandbox and there was plenty of room for experimentation. Alexandra turned away and she began to grumble something to herself.
"It was foolish to let the first years into Sensha-Do when they should only be infantry." Alexandra muttered to herself. Megumi looked on as Alexandra definitely knew every piece of the machine and how to get it working. However, what she didn't realize was the fact that Alexandra's plan was almost identical to the tactics they used to secure the victory with the diversionary attack. Kay went off to get herself ready with her tanks. Alexandra and Kay were going to have to butt heads against each other again if they were going to make any sort of progress.
As the students prepared the field of battle, Alexandra was going over some last minute exercises with the cavalry as Kay was inspecting the tanks, the battle taking place the day after the victory over Kebab. Kay looked around as there was nothing to do when she heard a voice call out for her.
"Kay!" Baby Lee called out. Kay turned her head to see Alice running to her. She was excited to see her friend. Alice tackled her in a hug as Kay happily accepted it. "I haven't seen you in so long."
"It's only been a few days though a friend doesn't leave one behind." Kay began speaking to Alice. "Why did you come and visit?"
"I was going to be observing you for the match." Baby Lee explained that she was going to be observing for the match. Kay nodded before she looked at Baby Lee and she began speaking.
"Observing, you want us to get victory?" Kay asked Alice if that was going to be correct. Alice nodded vigorously as she was excited to see what Kay was going to have.
"Yes, Yes, YES!" Baby Lee called out with her excitement. She looked at Kay with determination as a friend that she wanted to have succeed. Kay nodded before she began speaking.
"Okay, wish me luck." Kay told Alice. She walked off as Alice waved to her. This was going to be another battle upon which she was going to participate in.
The groups were divided into four groups, Kay with the tanks, Alexandra with the cavalry, Lola with the armored cars and Megumi with the infantry plus the armored train. Alexandra knew she had to get the battle rolling. Alexandra knew how she could lead the team to victory, she didn't want to risk another Tannenberg as that match had some foreseeable results she didn't want to repeat. Alexandra was on her horse as she began to dispatch the orders to the group.
"Yep, Kirishima's infantry are advancing, Manami has got some cavalry in the rear and about ten or so tanks. Erwin Taketa is preparing his infantry but we don't know when he'll go in to patch the front together." Alexandra told Megumi that Kuromorimine was going to begin the battle by advancing.
"Pull back?" Megumi asked Alexandra if that was going to be the best course of action. Alexandra began to think about it as she was going to make an attempt to bait Kuromorimine into the same trap she used on Gisela a couple days before.
"That's the plan." Alexandra told Megumi. Megumi nodded as this was the same tactic Alexandra was going to rely on. "Okay everyone, fall back, we're going to fight the enemy close to the front lines." Alexandra announced, the cavalry began to make a retreat as the Kuromorimine students followed in their path. Alexandra knew that baiting and trapping the enemy was the key to success. She knew she had to contact Kay's tanks that were stationed at Lodz. "Okay Kay, tell the team of tanks to fall back we're amassing for a counter attack when we bloody Kuromorimine at the trap we used before." Alexandra and the horses were traveling in the freezing snow as they were making their way back to Warsaw to stage an attack and drive Kuromorimine back. Kay spotted the horses as the tanks began to fall back. Kirishima was advancing on Lodz while Runa was advancing to the north of her flank and Manami was holding herself back as reserves. They were going to patch the front together in case a breach was made and if one of the groups had gotten themselves encircled.
Kay continued to fall back but she wasn't going to let Lodz get taken without a fight, sensing an opportunity, she decided to peel her tanks away from the cavalry group and she knew that they needed to face the enemy and attack now.
"All tanks turn around." Kay called out, the tanks turned themselves to face the enemy as the infantry had occupied Lodz. Now came the opportunity for a counter attack. Kirishima and her students continued onward from Lodz as the machine guns from the Shermans began opening up, the plastic pellets flying everywhere as these tanks slowly began to advance forward. She wasn't going to wait for anyone.
Alexandra had arrived back with the cavalry as she decided to get off and let Megumi know what exactly was happening.
"Retreat going according to plan and we should be meeting with the enemy in a few short minutes, are the machine guns set up?" Alexandra asked Megumi if everything was ready.
"Just about, we'll be able to bloody Kuormorimine here." Megumi told Alexandra that the enemy was going to be pulverized in their trap, Lola walked up as the armored cars were heading out of their positions.
"Yeah… about that." Lola began, she handed Alexandra and Megumi a tracker. Megumi grabbed the tracker to reveal Kay had turned around far earlier than she was allowed. The three of them looked at each other as they were in trouble.
"Oh crap." Megumi told the group, they were definitely in trouble now. Students board the armored train as we are heading for Lodz and get the artillery cannons going. Alexei, you will be supporting Lola's armored car attack to prevent reinforcements from reaching the area and we shall be able to push the enemy back.
"Got it." Alexei told Megumi as his students were going to help shore up the front and act as a barrier.
"Alexandra, go help out Kay when it comes to the front, we got to pull her out." Megumi ordered Alexandra.
"What?!" Alexandra began, she didn't want to follow along with the order as she didn't like Kay all that much and she was ordered to help her out.
"Go help her, try getting her out of there." Megumi told Alexandra as the students were packing as fast as they could to get on the armored train, the armored cars had already departed as the middle schoolers followed behind with their cavalry towing the artillery cannons and the ammunition.
"All right." Alexandra grumbled. She got on her horse and made a departure for the front lines with the cavalry coming along, they were going to do their best to rescue Kay.
Kay meanwhile was fighting along as the tanks were steadily advancing. Kirishima's infantry were in the middle of this as they continued to fire their machine guns at them, the Mg08's they had were firing away at the Saunders tanks to no real effect. Kay and the tanks continued onward as there was a sharp neigh heard in the background. Kay looked out of her gun sights to see that the Kuromorimine cavalry was charging right at them, they were going to be used to take out the tanks. Kay got her head out of the Sherman's hatch to spot that the cavalry was charging right at them. She ducked back down and knew that she needed to fight off this wave before continuing to make her push. The machine guns of the tanks began to open fire as they continued to move up. The cavalry had no protection from the machine guns but the riders were determined to fight onward, many drew their sabers and prepared devices that would knock the tank out.
The tanks machine guns fired as a few of the riders were knocked off of their horses as the horses neighed, rearing their heads upward and kicking with their front hooves. Kay however remained determined to break through this line as the horses weren't going to be a threat but much more of a hindrance to what she truly wanted. There was another sound, the sound of more horses, the snorting of them as they were racing from the other direction, Kay popped her head out of the commander's hatch and began firing one of the stationary machine guns while trying to figure out where these horses were coming from. To her relief, it was the Saunders cavalry coming to their rescue.
"Hold on Kay, we're coming!" Alexandra called out, Alexandra drew her saber and charged at the Kuromorimine cavalry. Alexandra swung her horse around and spotted a Kuromorimine student with a device as it was getting ready to take out one of the Sherman tanks. Alexandra's horse began to gallop as fast as it could to the student, Alexandra swung the saber she had and knocked the student off of the horse, Alexandra turned as she spotted another student with a different kind of saber, the two horses began to charge at each other. Alexandra knew she had a duel with the Kuromorimine student and knew that this could possibly mean either the end of her or her enemy. They got close, Alexandra swung her saber to her right, knocking the Kuromorimine student off of her horse. With the confusing mess of the cavalry fight, Kay knew it was the best opportunity to pull forward.
"All tanks move forward!" Kay shouted, Saunders students marching in from the armored train had arrived as Kirishima looked around, she had been cut off from the rest of Kuromorumine.
Runa meanwhile had set up a defensive perimeter with Erwin as they were going to hold this area to prevent a Saunders break through, they had finished setting up their Mg08's and were now waiting for the enemy. What they didn't know was the fact that they were facing up against a different type of enemy.
"Everyone dug in?" Runa asked one of her students. She rested her Gewehr 98 rifle at the top of the trench and she began to speak.
"Just about, the middle schoolers are in progress of building the second belt of trenches, it should be complete within an hour." She told Runa that the defenses were being constructed. Runa nodded before getting out her Luger. She heard the growl of engines as she tried to figure out what was coming for them. She got out her binoculars to hear the growl of armored cars.
"Armored cars are here, everyone man your positions!" Run called out, the students manned their places as some had placed their hands on the machine guns. Behind the armored cars were the middle schoolers charging in with their rifles in hand, those that had machine guns and artillery decided to stay behind to cover the defenses if needed. Lola was riding on the back of one of these armored cars.
"Okay students, here they are!" Lola called out, she raised her rifle and began to fire away at the trenches. Runa knew that the infantry with the armored car support was getting close.
"Fire!" Runa called out, the Mg08's began firing away as the defenders tried their best to cut down as many of the advancing students as they could, one of them fired at one of the armored cars but the plastic pellets bounced off of the armored car like it was nothing, there was nothing slowing this steel monster on wheels down. The machine guns on the armored cars began opening up as they were firing at the Mg08 gunners. Some of them were taken out and Lola continued to press the charge. "Retreat and call Manami for help. We don't think we can take these armored cars on by ourselves!" Runa gave the order to abandon the trenches. Runa got out first with the remaining group of her students while some Kuromorimine students made a rear guard to help their friends escape. The armored cars drove over the trench as they kept going. The middle schoolers leaped into the trench and began to club those that have decided to stay behind with the butts of their rifles, the armored cars meanwhile ran over the tops of the trenches though a bump had been felt as the armored cars tried their best to surge forward. Lola felt the jolt and was nearly knocked off of the armored car. Still, they kept going. They were going to take the fight to Kuromorimine.
Runa on the other hand was scrambling back and Kuromorimine was now in retreat, things weren't looking good for Manami and she knew she needed to scramble the team around to try to turn things around.
"Runa is in retreat to the second line of trenches, Kirishima has been encircled and Kay is advancing on Lodz. We need to turn this battle around." Manami began speaking to herself. Olivia who was observing the matches from the flanks while listening in on the radio picked up the message, Runa was retreating to the second line of incomplete trenches and with Kay now advancing
"We still got the tanks right?" Olivia asked Manami as the tanks had been held back from being used in the first wave. Manami turned to count ten tanks she had as well as several battalions of infantry that have yet to be used in action.
"Yes we do." Manami explained. Olivia decided to take advantage of the two front war and decided to commit the reserves.
"Erwin is getting pushed back by the armored cars so I'm setting the lighter tanks to take them on as they only have machine guns. And I'm sending the heavier tanks to Lodz as they are a much more pressing threat." Olivia told Manami as the five tank groups were going to get committed to the fight while Manami began to think about it.
"Okay and I'll send the battalions with the tanks as rescuing Kirishima is now a priority?" Manami asked if this was going to be correct.
"Yep." Olivia nodded, she hopped onto one of the Panzer 3's being sent to Runa in the hope of salvaging the situation. The other heavier tanks went with Manami to rescue Kirishima that had been encircled.
Runa and what remained of her group had retreated to the line of incomplete trenches, the students knew they needed to hold Saunders back or they'll get pulverized. To make matters even more dire was the fact that the artillery was close by.
"Erwin! Quit digging around and prepare to fight, the first line of trenches fell as there are armored cars on the way." Runa called out to him. Erwin got out his rifle with the bayonet as they prepared to make an assault on the enemy.
"Artillery is nearby and I hope reinforcements are coming." Erwin began speaking, he wanted to make sure they were going to fight off the enemy.
"They're coming." Runa told Erwin, the students finished mounting their Mg08's as the crowd of students came.
"The enemy is here! Fire!" Erwin shouted, the maxim guns began firing away as the students instinctively huddled behind the armored cars, taking a peak out every so often to fire their rifles. The Machine gunners read on this and fired at whoever was careless enough to peek their heads out of the cover. A couple of the students were taken out as they continued to march onward.
"Maxim guns! Fire back!" Lola ordered, the guns on the armored cars began firing back as they needed to keep the troops heads down. What Lola didn't realize was the fact that she was heading for a trap. Olivia came around the corner with several tanks in her group to reinforce Runa along with several groups of students. Lola continued to observe while the tanks arrived and the armored cars continued along. Olivia got off of the armored cars as she decided to take charge of the situation.
"Tanks and artillery, fire at the armored cars!" Olivia called out, the artillery guns went first as they were going to be targeting the armored cars. The shells landed sporadically all around as an armored car was taken out by a lucky shot, the white flag popped up as the other armored cars continued to press the attack. Lola however knew that this was a trap that Kuromorimine had laid for them.
"Fall back everyone!" Lola called out as she jumped off of her armored car and began heading in the opposite direction, it was clear that they were trapped. Maho's tank fired at the armored car Lola was on as the shot connected, another white flag popped out as there was no way they weren't going to fight off these armored cars, the others began to drop back as they were beginning to get taken out one at a time. With the twenty of the armored cars that went into the battle about fourteen of them managed to come back out of there. The armored cars continued to retreat along with the students but with their slow reverse speed, more were taken out in the ensuing chaos of the battle. It was better to turn and flee while driving forward, they did so but with three more falling victim to the tanks. Lola knew she needed to stabilize her front. Runa and her students got out from the trenches and followed the tanks.
The Middle schoolers had occupied the first line of trenches and were busy fortifying the area to prepare for the eventual counter attack. The machine gun belts were in place as Lola and her students came along.
"Tsarevich, prepare for the attack, it's going to get brutal." Lola told Alexei to get his students ready. Alexei nodded before getting a radio out,
"Cavalry, prepare to attack the tanks, do not rush in head first while they have the guns pointing at you, sweep around to the rear and toss the devices to take them out." Alexei explained to his cavalry to not go in there while the tanks had their main guns pointing at them. He paused before he heard the rumbling of something coming up, it was the tanks.
"They're here!" Lola called out as the remaining armored cars drove off to join up with the cavalry for the side attack, the students manned the trenches as the students came from the tanks, charging in a wide row. "Fire!" Lola called out, the students raised their rifles and began firing away with the maxim guns spitting plastic pellets at the students. Some of the Kuromorimine students marching along were struck before they were taken down. Others kept advancing as they knew they could be next. The guns continued firing away as the tanks continued to approach.
"Keep advancing Runa, they can't stop us all!" Olivia called out as she remained confident that the enemy was going to break, she pulled out her P08 Luger and began firing away. The other students fired away as well as they were trying their best to cut down the combined groups. The Panzer 3 turned its gun and fired at one of the Maxin guns. The gun's crew were reduced to an empty position, the other students were getting cut down as Lola knew that she needed to counter attack.
"Fix bayonets!" Lola called out. She took out her rifle bayonet and attached it to her rifle, the other students did the same as they were going to fight the Kuromorimine students within their faces. After that, they leaped out from their trench and began rushing to take the Kuromorimine tanks on. The machine guns with the Kuromorimine tanks began firing as the students were beginning to get cut down. Lola went prone and pulled out a firecracker grenade. She pulled the pin and chucked it at her foes. The grenade landed by their feet before exploding. The snort of the cavalry was heard as the middle schoolers and what remained of the armored cars were heading straight for them. The tanks turned their turrets and began firing at the armored cars while the cars fired straight at the tanks, attending to be a distraction. One of the armored cars went down before a white flag popped out as the cavalry surged to the front of the pack with their lances out, some drew their packages and began tossing them at the tanks when they got close, an explosion was heard before a white flag popped out of one of the panzer tanks, it was clear the cavalry was going to hit the remaining tanks a few more times as the Kuromorimine students were beginning to drop back. They were getting counter attacked again.
Kay meanwhile had pushed her way into Lodz and forced back any of the Kuromorimine students that had been occupying it. Megumi was a mile or so outside of the city with the armored train but with the position the train was in, only the front guns were going to be facing the enemy. They got themselves ready as the other five Kuromorimine tanks arrived to begin the counter attack with what remained of the infantry. The Shermans drove past the city as they were heading for an ambush.
"Get ready to attack." Manami told her students, they nodded as they began to prepare themselves for the attack. Kay was poised for victory but her chances were quickly dashed. She looked around to see that the five or so Kuromorimine tanks were waiting in ambush. Kay couldn't see these tanks but they could definitely see the olive green drab of the Shermans. "Now!" Manami shouted, the first Kuromoriumine tank fired and struck the Sherman leading the formation, a white flag popped out afterward as the next Kuromorimine tank fired, the shot struck the second sherman but it didn't bother to take it out, the Shermans turned their turrets and began firing away at the exposed Kuromorimine tank, two more heavy tanks rolled from cover before they fired at the Sherman's side armor, the third sherman spluttered before the white flag popped out. Kay's tank turned and fired at the heavy tank, this caused her shot to bounce off of Manami's Tiger. The tiger fired and took out another Sherman before the fifth tank went down a couple moments later, Kay knew she needed to get her tanks out of there,
"All tanks retreat!" Kay shouted. The remaining shermans turned away and began to retreat back to Lodz, However, Manami decided to pursue her as the infantry battalions began to close in. Kay looked around in Lodz as she wondered if it would be the best choice to stay despite the fact that they were going to be encircled if they decided to stay but giving up Lodz meant giving up an important strategic objective. Kay decided to think about it with Mika and Jajka pulled back, they didn't want to stick around while Kuromorimine closed in.
"Kay, pull your tanks back! You're going to get encircled!" Megumi shouted for Kay to abandon Lodz. Kay knew that the plan to hold Lodz was untenable.
"Pull back, we'll come back for you Lodz." Kay told the city that they'll be leaving the people behind temporarily but they will be back for them, the five tanks pulled back as they continued to retreat, a couple seconds later, Kuromorimine began to pour into the city as they were trying to find where these remaining tanks were. It was clear Kay had abandoned Lodz and was pulling back, the students and the tanks continued to pursue Kay as they wanted to find her. The tanks, the infantry groups and the armored train were ready as Kay regrouped with Megumi, there was no way they were going to make another push to Lodz at this rate.
"Everyone in position?" Megumi asked the group, the students nodded with their approval as this was going to be the fight they needed to accomplish. The Kuromorimine students showed up with their tanks as they began to approach with the infantry beside them. Megumi was gauging how far they were from the train. Then she gave the signal. "Now!" She called out. The machine guns on the armored train and the ones they already had began firing away at the Kuromorimine positions. The rifle students began firing away after getting the order. Both sides began pouring their pellets at the enemy, several Kuromorimine students had been taken down so far as it was clear there were machine guns in the area. The tanks began to focus as they spotted the machine guns that were mowing their students down. Manami knew this was the best opportunity to break through the thinly held enemy line while Alexandra was tangled with Kirishima, all Manami was concerned with was coming to her rescue and withdrawing what remained of the group. The tanks cannons fired and the machine gun crews defending the position had been taken out, this allowed the Kuromorimine infantry to surge forward as they didn't have anything suppressing them.
"Keep this up and we should be able to rescue our friend." Manami encouraged her school to keep surging onward. The Saunders students that didn't want to face the poking power of the rifle bayonets began to retreat to better defendable positions while the gunners of the artillery for the armored train spotted the tanks.
"I don't know how well this is going to work but it's worth a try." She began. She then fired the cannon at the Panther tank that was part of Manami's group. The shot managed to score a lucky shot on the tank as a white flag popped from the tank.
"What was that?" Manami asked. She looked out to see what had taken out one of their tanks to reveal an armored train had come to support their attack, the machine guns from the armored train trying its best to cut down the students from getting too close. Megumi knew she needed to pull the armored train out of there.
"Driver get us out of here." Megumi ordered, the armored train began to reverse away from the scene, scared that they were going to be targeted next. Kay meanwhile was going to try her best to make a last stand while the others were falling back.
"Keep up the pressure, Kuromorimine can't stop us all." Kay told the Sherman group to take as many of these tanks down with them as possible. The machine guns were still rattling as the Kuromorimine students who were unlucky enough were struck and taken down. Manami was still advancing however. "Fire!" Kay ordered to see if they could try to take out a couple of their tanks. The Shermans fired their cannons but to their shock, either the shots didn't connect what they were firing at or did little to no damage. By firing at the tanks, they had just given themselves away. The loaders were trying their best to load the next shot in to see if they could be able to take out the tanks. They fired again as one of the Panthers had been tracked by the incoming shot but this left three tanks advancing on them.
"Fire!" Manami shouted, the four tanks fired as their shots connected with four of the Shermans, the medium tanks spluttered before white flags popped out, Kay knew the situation was hopeless and she was going to get taken out. She decided to retreat from the situation with Jajka and Mika hitch a ride.
"Get us out of here Kay!" Mika shouted, Kay nodded as the Sherman tried its best to retreat but Manami knew Kay was going to retreat. She fired her shot at the tank while it was still turning. The remaining Sherman spluttered before it had been taken out as the white flag appeared. Manami knew that she had no more obstacles waiting in ambush though she heard something whirl over her head and the tracked Panther had been knocked out and the white flag popped out a moment later. The three tanks continued onward as Megumi gave the signal.
"Everyone fall back, Kuromorimine has broken through and is bound to rescue Kirishima." Megumi gave the order to retreat, Alexandra was exhausted and had taken heavy losses, she knew the best thing to do now was retreat.
"Fall back fall back!" Alexandra called out, Kirishima's three tanks had arrived to relieve Kirishima who had taken the brunt of the attack.
"Thank goodness you've come to our rescue." Kirishima panted as Manami got a call.
"Yeah about that, the armored cars are pushing again, they need tanks. Stabilize the front if you must." Manami told Kirishima. Kirishima saluted before she went to go help Runa.
The battle had ended with Kay making the unexpected push on Lodz early and them rushing in to wear Kuromorimine down, they had managed to encircle and deal heavy damage to one of the groups. Megumi, Alexandra and Lola were taking the results of the battle.
"The battle had ended inconclusively though I could safely declare this a Kuromorimine strategic victory." Alexandra told the others that the battle didn't produce a clear winner and had ended in a draw. Megumi sighed as Kay was capable of breaking their backs and having them lose the battle but everyone managed to throw their grit behind them and prevented the battle from ending badly.
"We fought hard, I even worked up the courage to make another push." Lola sighed while she was tired. She didn't know what the best course of action was going to be.
"You certainly did, good job back there." Megumi praised Lola for her bravery. Alexandra nodded before she began speaking.
"She wasn't the only student to do this, quite a few students have displayed heroic acts of sacrifice." Alexandra told Megumi that some of the students had been showing their guts in the battle and had managed to forge their way out of it. "The first student's name is Konstantina, she managed to help close the trap around Kirishima and fought hard to whither down the pocket to nothing before Manami rescued the survivors. She's getting the St. George's cross 4th class for the performance she had put up."
"Any others?" Megumi asked if anyone else was getting medals for their bravery.
"Just her so far. I had observed her relaying the information." Alexandra told Megumi that Konstantina's bravery had shown, and she was going to get rewarded.
"Nice. Looks like some of us are performing better than Kay." Megumi teased Alexandra. Alexandra laughed.
"Kebab had lost a battle against Earl Gray and with everyone getting their rest, it is becoming obvious that our tactics are holding us up well though our equipment is starting to wear down, we need to make replacement parts for the rifles." Alexandra told Megumi while expressing a bit of her concern that some of the rifles are starting to get worn out due to heavy use over the past few days. Megumi nodded.
"It's unlikely that Kay is going to make spare parts that are anything but the tanks. We'll have to make do with what we have." Megumi told Alexandra that Kay wasn't one to purchase or make anything new. Kay was still hanging out with her friend who was giving quite the support that she needed.
"I sense things are going to get worse before they get better." Alexandra sighed. She was going to be right about that.
[A/N]: This was a long chapter as I sadly had no information regarding this battle in particular and decided to make it a back and forth for some of the territory and while some had seen gains, others had it reverse but because of the battle, it ended inconclusively though Kuromorimine declares it a victory for themselves since they now own Lodz. They are also preparing for another strike in the next chapter as they are going to attack again in freezing conditions. Keep an eye out for that.
