Mystic Falls High School

Outside Cafeteria Area

"Seriously?" Caroline snapped, sneering at Stefan.

Stefan replied, "Yes, Caroline, I am serious. We are staying here for lunch. You have blood in your thermos and that should be enough to get you through the day. Did you even look at the feeding schedule I sent you?"

Caroline tossed her blond hair and crossed her arms.

"Ugh, I didn't have time. My mom made me do like a whole bunch of stuff last night after I woke up from my lame nap," Caroline complained. "She actually made me do the dishes!"
"Oh, how horrendous," Stefan quipped. "How did you survive?"
"I almost didn't, but she got out the hairbrush ready to beat my behind again if I didn't. I mean, do I look like I do dishes?" Caroline retorted angrily.

Stefan gave Caroline a firm look. "Caroline, you want to be treated like an adult, but frankly, you are acting like an entitled brat. Now, if you want me to help you, you need to do your part."

Caroline's eyes narrowed, "Did you just call me a brat?"

Tyler and Elena were heading back to the table with some fries and a few bags of chips.

Tyler glanced at Stefan and then Caroline, saying, "Oh, it seems this is going well. Elena, maybe we should eat over here?"

"You two just sit," Caroline demanded. "Stefan here thinks I'm a brat."

Elena's heart shaped face, framed by her dark hair, lit up.

"Caroline, you refused to drink your Diet Coke at the Grill the other night because there was too much ice in it. Then, you said it was flat...You can be a little too particular."

Tyler grumbled, dipping a fry into a small white paper cup of ketchup, "I'm staying out of this one. Oh look, I think Matt needs me..."
Tyler left his food and headed a few feet over to help Matt carry the two trays of food he was balancing.

"I thought Matt always brings a lunch," Elena mentioned, trying to change the subject.

Stefan replied, "He does, but I think he's eating more because of football. I think I might join the team again, too. You know, get back to normal?"

"That's good," Elena smiled. "And Caroline, cheerleading tryouts are coming up. What do you say? That will burn off some of your...well, ah energy."

Caroline huffed, "Whatever. As long as I'm the captain, I don't care. Now, back to me being a brat..."
Stefan sighed, "Look, I'm sorry if I insulted you, Caroline. It's just now being with Jenna and Ric at the boarding house, we all take turns with chores. I mean, they can't do it all themselves. I just think it's kind of crappy for you to put everything on your mom and give her a hard time. She works a lot and she's not your maid."
Elena pushed the fries toward Caroline. "Eat. They are all yours. And Stefan's right, I mean, we all have to pitch in. Jenna's so busy with the twins and now Enzo and Damon, if we didn't help, we'd be living in filth."

"Now you guys are ganging up on me!" Caroline protested.

"We're not, dear," Elena said. "But I do need to talk to my brother a minute. Eck! He's talking to that Brian guy. He's a total druggie. I'll be back."

Stefan cast a grateful look at his girlfriend.

"So, I have another copy of the schedule. You have to regulate your eating, drinking blood, and sleep. Ignoring one can really throw you off at first until you get ahead of the hunger. And there is something else we should talk about, but I know you aren't going to like it," Stefan said quietly.

"No! I told Tyler this already, I'm not eating bunnies!" Caroline hissed, looking around her. She glared at a girl at the next table until the girl turned back to her friends.

"Hunting is not something we do for fun," Stefan explained. "It's a necessity. I know animal blood isn't as tasty, but when it's warm and fresh, it's much better. Caroline, after what happened, this is a nonnegotiable. Will you at least give it a try? For me?"

"Fine," Caroline snarked, finally picking up a fry. She bit it and tossed it back. "Tastes like dust."

"That gets better, too," Stefan said. "I know this stinks at times. But until you can take the cure, you have to learn to survive as a vampire. I'm sure you heard that most don't make it a year."

Caroline tried another fry, coating this one with ranch.

"I heard. So what's the plan? Do I have to wear camo?" Caroline pressed.

Stefan grinned, "No camo, but maybe don't wear heels in the woods. I've arranged it with your mom. I'll pick you up at 6 tonight."

"Of course you did," Caroline grumbled. "I guess it is better than being grounded...Maybe?"

"Good. All we are asking is that you try," Stefan said, helping himself to a fry. "They are better with the ranch. It hides the grease taste more..."

"I used to like that taste," Caroline said. "And sorry I didn't ask before, but how is Damon doing? You know, as a human?"

Stefan shrugged, "Great. He and Enzo are going to school. It gives Jenna a little break and I think they like it so far. Now, wash those fries down with some blood. You will get used to all this, I promise."

"If it wasn't for those angels, I wouldn't have to," Caroline said. "Did you ever consider taking the cure?"

Stefan paused and looked off into the distance. They were sitting outside and he could smell the leaves, the grass, and even some of Tyler's cologne from several yards away.
"I have," Stefan admitted. "But now with Damon being human again, I don't know. He's always protected me. If I turn human, I just feel like I might not be there for him in the way I can be as a vampire. Humans get sick, they age, and they die. I know Elena would love it, but right now, I can't think that way. Oh, it looks like Elena is giving Jeremy a piece of her mind. Excuse me."
Stefan went and stood by Elena. She was just as protective of him, as Stefan was of Damon. This wasn't good.

Jeremy's face was red.

"Elena, lay off it. We were just taking about an art project. Bri just wanted me to design him a tattoo. Go back and eat," Jeremy pressed.

Elena gave her younger brother a hard look.

"I don't believe that," Elena accused. "Are you doing drugs again?"

Jeremy looked at Stefan for help. "Stefan, please tell your girlfriend to calm down! I am not smoking pot again. You know that both Klaus and Ric would kill me."

Stefan smiled, "That is true. Come on, Elena, leave him alone. You're making a scene."
Elena looked around and realized this family tiff was attracting some attention.
"If I find out you're lying, you won't have to worry about Klaus or Ric because I will kill you myself," Elena warned, stalking off.

Jeremy huffed, "What is her problem?"

Stefan put a hand on Jeremy. "She worries about you. You know that. Now, is something going on with that guy. He's a real jerk, Jeremy. You should probably steer clear of him."
"Jesus, not you, too," Jeremy moaned. "Can't I have my own friends without all of you getting into my shit."

"We're not...," Stefan begun, but Jeremy stomped off in the opposite direction. "And I thought Damon used to have a temper..."

After School

"Damon, you punched that boy?" Jenna demanded, after sitting Damon down in the living room.

The dark haired boy's blue eyes filled with tears.

"Yeah, but he kept making fun of Enzo for talking funny," Damon whined. "I told him to stop. Then, he said that Enzo was a freak. What was I supposed to do?"

Jenna took a deep breath. The twins were in their pack and play and Enzo was in the kitchen eating his snack.

"Not hit him," Jenna snapped. "This is the third time you got in trouble at school so far this year. I know it wasn't an easy adjustment, but you have to use your words. Did you even try to tell an adult?"

Damon shifted on the couch, throwing out his short legs in frustration.

"No! I just wanted him to stop. Enzo was almost ready to cry," Damon confessed.

Jenna repeated the mantra she had been using with the boys.

"You tell a teacher and let them deal with it," Jenna said calmly. "You have to remember to use your skills. Your principal said you are going to miss recess again tomorrow. If it happens again, they are going to suspend you from school."

"I already had to go to the office!" Damon wailed. "It's not fair. How come David isn't in trouble?"

Jenna moved over and sat closer to Damon, who was starting to cry.

"Because you hit him. He's the victim now. If you would have done the right thing, he would be in trouble, not you. Now, let's go through the steps again. Someone is bothering you or Enzo, what do you do?" Jenna tried.

Damon threw up his arms, almost hitting Jenna.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore! Can I go play?" Damon said, raising his voice. Grayson looked up and started to cry as well for his mother to pick him up. Jenna got up and picked up the baby.

"No, I want you to have something to eat and then go calm down in your room," Jenna stated, giving Sommer a toy.

"No, I don't wanna," Damon wailed, kicking the coffee table.

"Honey, I know you are frustrated. You are hungry and tired. Now, don't make me repeat myself," Jenna said, trying to settle down Grayson.

"They are lucky they don't have to go to school," Damon said, kicking the table and knocking off some baby books.

"That's enough of that. Go eat your snack after you pick that up," Jenna said, firmer.

"No! I hate you," Damon shouted, running up the staircase.

"Damon, let's talk about this," Jenna called after the angry boy.

Jenna sighed as Sommer also got upset and started to cry.

"Shhh, your brother is fine...," Jenna said to the twins, as she checked their diapers. "Uh-oh, let's go get changed." She would try to talk to him after Ric got home from work.

Crescent Academy

New Orleans, Louisiana

Freya surveyed the herb and flower gardens with interest. She and Bonnie had spent the day consulting with Emma and some of the other witches to come up with ways to better protect the school. She encouraged Bonnie to attend a class or two with some of the other teens while she toured more of the grounds.

"These are beautiful," Freya gushed to former Strix coven witches, Rowen and Clarice.

"Thanks," Rowen said softly. "Alexis helped, too. And Miss Tig, of course."

Alexis was a seer who was Lucien Castle's former witch. She was a student now. Emma was the guidance counselor and head of their coven.

"How are you all doing here? Do you like it?" Freya asked, breaking off a spring of rosemary to smell. She noticed they had some madder and belladonna off to the side. Those could be made into poisons.

Clarice brushed a hand through her red hair, which matched her sister's hair in shade.

"Oh yes, it's much better than being one of the Sisters for the Strix. We don't have to worry about being killed or sacrificed every damn day," Clarice shared. "Though Professor Vardemus gives a ton of homework!"

"Now, you sound like my twins," Freya noted. "They are vampires now, but they have red hair like you girls. I wish I could have brought them to see this place. It's beautiful here."

"How many kids do you have?" Rowan wondered.

"Eight," Freya smiled, feeling a pang in her chest. "My wife and I adopted them this year. Like you, they were all in a dangerous situation. Gemini coven."

"Oh," Clarice said with awe. "We heard some of that. Weren't they siphons?"

Freya put the rosemary in her pocket. "Yes, three of them. Now, they are heretics. It was the only way to save them from merging. Where do you plant the wolfsbane and vervain?"

"Oh, the professor grows that in the school. There were a few pranks gone bad and it's on lockdown now," Clarice giggled. "We need a better visibility spell. We totally got busted with that one."

Freya smiled at the teens. "I bet. Thank you for the tour. We'll reset the wards around the school tomorrow. What you have here is strong, but we can always make it stronger. You know how to link?"
"Oh yes," Rowen said. "That's one of the first things they taught us as one of the Sisters. Why?"

"We may need to link to make this ward stronger," Freya said casually. "Plus, it's always good practice for the younger witches."

"We got plenty of practice as Strix," Clarice mentioned. "I'm surprised they didn't get to you. They used to seek out the strongest witches they could find."

"Oh, I was sleeping," Freya said with a sly smile. "It's a long story for another time. I only do magic for my family now."

Rowan looked dubious, "But you are here, helping us?"

"You are all under the protection of the Mikaelsons now, my dear," Freya said, looking back at the grand old psychiatric hospital. "So in a sense, you are all family."
"That's nice," Clarice said. "Our real family is all gone now. We barely remember them. Actually, we better go help Ollie get dinner ready. He's a real bear if you are late to duties."

"Or wolf," Rowen corrected. "We might have done the wolfsbane prank on him. He can really hold a grudge."

"Go on, I can find my way back," Freya urged. "I'm going to test the barrier beyond the garden."

The girls left Freya and she meandered further down the path, feeling the energy from the plants and trees. Some were old and she let their energy cleanse hers. She checked her phone and realized that it was later than she thought. The kids would be home and it would be hectic. She'd call Keelin later.

"Sister," Elijah said, from behind. "There you are."

Freya smiled and patted the bench.

"Oh Elijah, it's lovely here," Freya said. "These fountains and gardens are stunning."
Elijah eyed a crumbling statue of a Greek goddess in repose.

"Ah yes, Rebekah used to do volunteer work here a century ago when the Spanish Flu epidemic hit the city," Elijah recalled. "She and Marcel would meet here away from Klaus' prying gaze. Have you checked in at home?"

"Not today," Freya said. "I lost track of time. There is something about this place that almost makes the rest of the world disappear. I miss the kids and Keelin, but I also feel strangely content."

"Ah yes," Elijah said. "I feel it, too. But Marcellus is restless to get back. I saddled him with the care of all of our new businesses and he doesn't like delegating much. What do you think of the wards? Will they hold?"

Freya looked down at the gravel path. "Elijah, I don't know. They are strong. No being who wants to cause harm could get through. I almost wish we would have brought the twins or Kai to see if they could siphon through it. If the angels can siphon or get through this magical barrier, it's all for naught."

Elijah sat down stiffly. "No, it's not. It would give them a head's up that something is amiss. But, I have some ill news..."

"You got the results of the paternity test?" Freya breathed, waiting for his response.

"The child is not Jackson's," Elijah sighed. "The genetic make-up matched Niklaus'. He is the biological father."

Freya stood up abruptly. "Dammit. Did you tell Hayley yet?"

"No," Elijah said. "I just received the lab report. I do not know if I have the words. Not only is Jackson not the father, but this child will be in grave danger. She's only 18. Will you go with me?"

"Of course," Freya said. "Though, I have a test I would like to do on Hayley."

Hayley's Office

"What do you mean? Marcel? Is this true?" Hayley gasped, looking at Jackson. The well-muscled werewolf's eyes blazed yellow a moment as he swallowed the news.

"Yes," Marcel said with a solemn sigh. "Here's the lab results. We are so sorry."

"But I've haven't been with anyone else!" Hayley protested.

Elijah paced to Hayley, saying, "We know. We believe the cult extracted what they needed from Klaus and then implanted it in you when you were kidnapped. We are very sorry."

"But why Hayley? She's a Crescent," Jackson bellowed, "Not some angel."

Freya took a breath, "Jackson, I tested Hayley. She is emitting an angelic frequency. I also tested our sister-in-law Camille and her baby, Ansel. I don't know how to explain it, but Hayley is now part-angel."

Jackson saw the pain in Hayley's eyes and wrapped his arms around her. She leaned her head on his shoulder, breathing in his scent.

"We'll leave you two alone," Marcel said, feeling like they were intruding.

"No, please stay," Hayley begged. "What do they want with the baby?"

Marcel looked to Elijah for help.

Elijah cleared his throat. "The prophecy states that an angel mated with an abomination can smite angels and bring about the end of days. There is a subsection of angels that want to return to heaven very much. They have been cursed to remain with humanity as long as it lasts..."

"That sounds like bullcrap," Jackson growled. "Hayley ain't never done nothing but try to help folks. And for that, she gets turned into an angel?"

Marcel nodded, "There also may be angelic blood in her parentage. I knew the Labonairs. They would good people. They wanted to put aside bad blood and make peace with us vampires for the good of your pack. But before they could do that, they were killed."

Jackson pulled away from Hayley, "Mary, my grandma, said that, too. Most Crescents were against it. They stood against the pack...that takes bravery. So you think they could have been angel kin?"

"We may never know that," Elijah stated. "But what we do know is that this angelic cult will come for this child. They came for our nephew, Ansel. They believe your baby is special and will be more powerful than any child before to bring about their twisted prophecy."

Hayley's face grew severe, "I'll like to see them try. We have a virtual army here. I will smite them myself."

Freya spoke up. "Hayley, I don't know if you possess that power. I am sorry to say but I think you should return with us to Mystic Falls."

Hayley's face fell, "But the school-!"

Jackson took a deep breath. "Hayley, we got the school under control. It's you and the baby that we need to protect now. I don't like it, but I think they are right."

"I don't know," Hayley fretted. "I mean, the wards are strong. We have ancient vampires, Strix witches, a seer, Professor Vardemus..."

Freya went on, "I fear that one siphon could dissolve the barrier. We have Elijah, Niklaus, Kol, and Rebekah as Original vampires. I do not believe the angels can kill them. We also have my children, three Heretics. Cami is of half angel blood. We have Tyler, Connor, and Erik who are hybrids like Niklaus..."

Marcel went up and patted Hayley's back.

"Honey, we wouldn't suggest it if we didn't think it was for the best," Marcel implored. "We fought these bastards and they broke out of the Serratura. That's something we hoped they wouldn't be able to do. We don't know what they are capable of...If they got you again, we might not be able to get you back."

Hayley felt a chill go down her spine.

"So I can be a prisoner there, or a prisoner here?" Hayley asked bitterly.

Jackson shook his head, "You ain't gonna to ever be a prisoner again. I'm this baby's daddy no matter the blood. As wolves, we need to follow our instincts and every one I have is saying you got to go. I can come with you."

Hayley swallowed hard. "No, you stay here and help run things. I need to know that I have a home to come back to."

Jackson embraced Hayley again as they cried. Freya, Marcel, and Elijah silently left the room.

Professor Vardemus' Classroom

Bonnie and Tommy laughed as Tristan spun around suddenly wearing one of the older professor's black velvet robes and a hair piece. Diego, a 17 year old wolf, and Rafael, a 14 year old werewolf doubled over in laughter.

"That old coot has the best costumes," Lucien grinned. "He cannot seem to keep his hair pieces on his very bald head."

"You guys are bad," Bonnie said, holding her stomach. "How did you even break in here?"

Tommy loved hanging out with the wolves and kids here also. He had spend the day with his older brother Aiden, Josh, and the two younger kids Emily and Chris. But now he wanted to have some real fun.

Landon, Rafael's former foster brother, explained, "Oh, I'm his lab assistant. I have the keys. So don't make a mess this time, guys!"

Tristan flung the wig at Landon's face and it caught on his head, making everyone laugh again.

Tommy asked, "Do you guys ever get outta here? For like parties and stuff?"

Landon shook his head, "Nah, it's too dangerous. But tonight we'll have a little celebration in the woods."

"You have beer?" Tommy asked hopefully.

Diego grinned, "Nope, we make our own brew. It will fuck ya up."

Jade, a vampire who was a former ripper, rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, guys," Jade reprimanded. "Stop or you'll get us all busted again. I don't want to end up scrubbing toilets again for the weekend!"

Diego picked her up and threw her over his shoulder as she pounded his back.

"That was because you threatened to eat Wade if he looked at you again," Diego corrected.

"Oh yeah, he was creeping me out," Jade said. "Diego, take me upstairs. I have to change."

"Bye, guys," Bonnie said. She loved the kids here at Crescent. They were kind of wild, but also very talented.

Tristan put the robe and hair piece back and they started to straighten up the classroom.

"I should go change, too," Bonnie said.

"Allow me to escort you," Tristan said with a flourish. He offered Bonnie his arm and they went up to the dorms. Bonnie was staying in a room with some of the teen witches. Boys were not allowed on that floor, but Tristan didn't seem to follow all of the rules unless they suited him.

Alexis walked in, "Rafe', you're in trouble with Dorian. He sent me to get you."

Rafe' paled, "Shit, I had detention and was supposed to help him in the library. Landon, you good here, bro?"

Landon nodded, his curly black hair shaking, "Yeah, go on. You better not piss him off more."

"Too late," Alexis smirked.

Lucien forgot about cleaning and turned his attention to Alexis.

"Darling, you look radiant today," Lucien purred. The ancient vampire missed his once personal seer. "Any visions to share, my love."

"Not with you," Alexis snarked. She enjoyed flirting and making out with Lucien from time to time, but had her eye on a new man.

Lucien scowled, "Be like that. Go to your Sebastian. He's really still obsessed with his dead girlfriend, but go."

"I don't need your permission," Alexis called back. "Bye, Landon!"

"Bye," Landon said, finding a second wig someone had thrown on one of the desks. "Um, do you really think Sebastian is gonna try to bring back his girl? Like from the dead?"

Lucien shrugged, "I don't care what that foul idiot is up to. He just better stay clear of Aurora."

Landon looked up. "I think they are just friends. I thought you two were done..."

Lucien heaved out a loud breath. "She's really a part of me. I may not bed her anymore, but I do not wish to see her with that lout. What? You think that selfish of me?"

Landon grinned, "Yeah, dude, she's her own person. You have to move on. You know, like stop caring. It's kinda clear she moved on from you."

"We shall see. I think Alexis misses me," Lucien said, walking out.

Landon finished the cleaning on his own and walked out.

***
Ollie made a gumbo for dinner and the school had a movie night. The teens were allowed to make a fire outside. Wade, a heavy set witch, who had weak magical powers was the look out as Diego and Rafe snuck out their contraband moonshine.

Bonnie hung out with the witches and Tommy sat with the older boys.

"So, Tom, fancy any of the ladies here?" Sebastian, a vampire who favored navy blue jackets with white dress shirts.

Tommy blushed, "No, they are all nice. I ain't never had a girl before..."

Tristan smirked, "Let the lad alone, Sebastian. You don't want him to turn into a libertine, like you."

"Hardly," Sebastian scoffed, taking a gulp of the moonshine and making a face. "Hideous stuff!"

"What's a 'libertine?'" Tommy asked

Rafe' shrugged, "I reckon it means skirt chaser. But we don't have a lot else to do here. Well, aside from homework and chores."

"We hunt," Diego roared. He stood up and sniffed. "Come on, there's something in the woods. Who wants to check it out?"

"I'm bloody drunk," Lucien slurred. "That hog swill is rather strong."

"I'll go," Tommy said.

Wade shouted, "Hide the shine. Someone is coming!"

Tristan vamped to a nearby shed with the moonshine and the teens started to disperse.

"False alarm. It's only Em and Henry," Wade called out.

"He's the worst sentry ever," Sebastian groused. "He ought to be flogged."

"We ought to get in anyway," Jade snapped. "It's almost curfew. Put the fire out."

Diego took off and Tommy followed him.

The woods were dark in the trees but Tommy looked up at the waxing moon.

"Full moon in four days," Diego said. "Maybe you can turn with us."

"Oh, I have a moonlight ring," Tommy said, holding it up.

"Yeah, we have them now, too," Diego said. "But we still turn almost every month. Gives us something to do."

"That's cool," Tommy said, sniffing the air. "But I don't smell anything. Maybe I lost the scent?"

"Ha, I was just screwing with ya," Diego boomed. "I hid a case of beer out here a week ago. I thought we could crack into it."

"Awesome! How'd you get beer?" Tommy asked in awe.

"I stole it from the headmistress and her girlfriend," Diego bragged. "But I hid it and I can't find it. Look by those rocks over there."

The boys searched for the beer for twenty minutes with no luck.

"Fuck, I bet someone else found it," Diego groused. "It was probably the witches. With Alexis being a seer, it's hard to keep a secret."

"Shit, someone's calling you," Diego said, startled.

"It's probably my dad," Tommy groaned. "I thought I was off the hook 'cause my brother goes to bed at like 8 now...You go, I'll make my way back."

"Tommy!" Marcel yelled, vamping closer to the tree line.

"Dad, over here," Tommy shouted back.

"Where were you?" Marcel asked, finally seeing his son.

"All the other kids went up to bed. I came to talk to you and you were missing," Marcel said in relief.

"Ah, I thought I heard something," Tommy said.

"So you came out here alone?" Marcel asked, his voice rising.

"Yeah," Tommy responded.

"You're lying," Marcel stated flatly. "Have you been drinking? We talked about this."

"Shit, I mean, no, I w-wasn't," Tommy stammered.

"Young man, you are lying. You want me to cut a switch? Now, what's going on?" Marcel snapped, grabbing Tommy's arm.

"No, Dad! Come on, let's go in. It's chilly out here," Tommy urged.

Marcel could smell the alcohol on Tommy's breath.

"Tommy, start talking," Marcel warned.

"There's nothing to tell. I swear," Tommy begged.

"If that is the way you want it," Marcel said tiredly as he clamped down on Tommy's arm. He dragged him to a tree. "Grab onto that. Maybe I need to call Elijah, he has plenty of experience doing this to me."

"No, Dad. Okay, I was drinking a little," Tommy whined. "Don't switch me."

"So you lied? And you were out here alone because...?" Marcel pressed. He positioned Tommy again and yanked down his jeans and underpants down to his ankles.

"I can't say," Tommy shrieked. He didn't want to get Diego and the others in trouble. They would hate him.

"Don't move," Marcel warned. He stepped away and found a tree branch that would do as a switch. He pulled out his pocket knife and stripped it.

Swishhhhh!

Tommy felt a line of fire across his bared bottom and jerked his hands back.

"Owwww," Tommy yelped.

Marcel pinned Tommy's hands above his head and cracked the switch down again.

Thwack!

"Awwwww, fuck, Dadddddd," Tommy howled. His bottom was stinging like crazy and he couldn't stand it.

Marcel didn't like being lied to and wanted to make that clear.

Thwack!

Tommy burst into tears and tried to wiggle away but Marcel's hold was too firm.

Thwack!

Marcel laid down the switch lower to where Tommy's thighs met his behind.

Thwack!

"AHHHHH," Tommy sobbed. "Stoppppp."

Thwack!

Thwack!

"I came out here to tell you we are going home tomorrow morning," Marcel said. He tossed the stick aside and began to spank Tommy's striped cheeks with his hand.

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!

The smacks seemed to echo loudly in the night, but Tommy cries were louder.

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!

After six strong smacks, Marcel let Tommy go and pulled up his pants. Without waiting, Marcel pulled his son into a tight hug.

"Buddy, I didn't want to have to do that, but you don't lie to me," Marcel said huskily. "Come on, we'll get you to bed. We'll talk more tomorrow when you sobered up."

Tommy heaved and sniffed, "That sobered me up. I'm sorry, Dad...You aren't gonna tell Aiden are you?"

Marcel patted Tommy's back as the boy snuck a hand back to rub his sore rear.

"No, you doesn't need to know this," Marcel said. "Unless you want to tell him. It's just not safe to be out here alone...and drunk. We love you too much to have you risk your life out here. Come on."

Tommy and Marcel walked back to the house arm in arm. Tommy tried to wipe away the tears, but was grateful that others were already sleeping when he got into the dorm. Maybe he should have just stayed with Aiden as he offered? His wolf healing kicked in and as Tommy fell asleep he thought about his fun night.

It was worth it in the end.
