In for a Crazy Ride
Family

The family was arguing over who had legal guardianship over Akira, effectively deciding who would be in control of the family heir until he came of age, if not longer, given the way the adults threw around the word autistic in regards to his twin brother as if it made him broken.

And in a way, Akira was broken, lying in the other room, not moving, obviously not happy with his current circumstances as the adults around him decided to speak over him as if he were a tiny infant rather than a teenager who was of the same intelligence level as his twin brother.

Ryo looked around, wanting someone actually to care, someone other than their grandfather, who was far from pleased with what the more vocal family members were saying, nor did he like the way Akira was simply left there in the other room as hogosha was discussed without any input from Keith. "I'll do it."

The elders stared at him, including some of those who hadn't spoken either because they were waiting for the head's decision or because they didn't want to say something that would result in them being assigned the care of what the family deemed to be a problem child.

"Ryo-sama!"

"Absolutely not! You're too young! This kind of responsibility…"

To which Ryo told them precisely what he thought of that, only to be belittled and hear Takashi be knocked down for having bothered to care for their brother. Apparently, his future was more critical to certain family members than their grandfather said. "Legally, it would have to be your agent."

Ryo looked at his grandfather, then broke into a grin he should have held back, maintaining the proper decorum expected of the main branch. Instead, he found himself hurrying over to the room, calling out to his twin. "Akira?"

"Keith."

"Ah. Keith." Which was when he promised he would take care of Keith because they were family. They were brothers, and he was never going to abandon Keith, no matter what anyone else said, no matter the cost.
